  1. Are Derby relatively flush now they've been taken over?
  2. Speaking of the fella I came across this little nugget today:
  3. Added to my Lovefilm list, I'm in the mood for westerns now.
  4. Are the other two in the Dollars trilogy any good? I assume they're all standalone films rather than connected?
  5. Edited for those of you who aren't avid Heat readers: It's Peaches and Pixie Geldof.
  6. The Good, The Bad and the Ugly - Thoroughly enjoyable.
  7. It really is sounding like a good structure to have in place, however I am still confused as to why Wise was chosen for the job but I suppose we have to give him a chance to see what he can do, Mort and Ashley haven't done too much wrong so far so I suppose we have to trust them with this one.
  8. Unless they have a holding company in the U.K. Liv won't be able to get a penny from them if it came to it. Liverpool wouldn't see a penny of what? They're only liable for £105m, anything after that is the responsibility of the yanks and I'm pretty sure the banks would be interested in chasing them up for that. Kop holdings is servicing the £245m ie The football club. (Article above). Yeah, they're servicing i.e. paying the debt, but they're not liable for all of it.
  9. I think we need to know a bit more about what he did for Real before judging him on that, like how long was he there for, was he just doing the odd bit of scouting or was he more senior? who did he find for them? etc.

  11. Aye responsible for servicing the debt, but Hicks and Gillett have guaranteed two thirds of the debt so if the club defaults then it's those two who are personally liable for the majority of the debt, not the club.
  12. Just as well we didn't keep the number 6 shirt free for his return.
  13. It sounds to me like he knew that someone would be coming in but hasn't been consulted or kept in the loop as to who it is or maybe what their exact role is which would seem a strange way of doing things to me.
  14. And no one accused Freddy of not backing the manager, it was all the other shite that people had a problem with. Anyway I'm done discussing the old board, I'm not getting into a Shepherd shag/slagfest with you.
  15. we won't mention the absolutely stupid post you made a week ago condemning scousers for slating their board for the crime of backing their manager As ironic and dumb as anything I've ever found anywhere What are you on about? Yes I had a go at them for protesting against a board that has financially backed their manager, what's wrong with that? What's the difference between me saying that and you defending Shepherd on the basis that he backed his managers? Tbf those two yanks are well on the way to fucking up the club. They'll be borrowing money soon to prop up the ailing ice hockey side and one guess where that is going to come from. Well, just for those who condemned the old board for the "debts" at the club, who read the article over the weekend that showed the top 4 clubs ie Chelsea, manure, Liverpool and Arsenal, currently have debts of approx 1.5 billion quid. Terrible job they are doing there, eh ? Nowt like a good cliche spun by people without a mind of their own.......... The Liv debt restructuring was touch and go by all accounts. £350m debt with payment terms of £20m or so a year. So all we need is for them to miss out on the CL this year and the fun will really begin. There's only £105m been placed onto the club though, the rest has been guaranteed by the owners. Tbh I'm undecided as to whether they're cunts or not, I'm not 100% sure what's normal business practice in these situations but I can't see them having done too much wrong.

The difference is those top 4 clubs have CL football and can finance those levels of debt and have them properly structured. We most likely could not have continued too much longer with our levels of debt and a lack of European football.

They'll be borrowing money soon to prop up the ailing ice hockey side and one guess where that is going to come from. They've provided money for the manager and for the new ground which seem to be pretty big gestures imo, yes Hick's comments about Klinsmann certainly weren't clever but tbh I reckon Benitez is overrated and they could do better. The issue of transferring part of their debt to the club has also been overblown, it's much less than Man U took on when Glazer took over and they're still one of the most financially successful clubs in the world.

  19. You still not let Gerry and Kate in on the joke yet?
  20. T-Keith desperate to show his mad photoshop skillz.
  21. You could try the old superglue in the front door lock trick.
  22. It's the n-series so I'm expecting nothing but problems but I looking at the specs I couldn't resist.
