Bruce easily wins the "Basil Fawlty Impression Competition".
-
If another team wanted him for free and were prepared to pay his wages I'd take their hand off but I can't see it happening.
-
He's taken them as far as he can. He's a mid-table manager at best, I just hope Freddy doesn't get any ideas.

Shay saves us again.

Boumsong to knock in the winner as super sub.

A prime example of why we will be playing Chelsea at the best time possible.

Disappointing from a neutral footballing perspective but couldn't have happened to a nicer lad.
-
I would be both shocked and appalled.
-
Wasn't he seeing a sports pyschologist or some sort of head fiddler to sort this "mental" problem out? May be starting to show some of the benefits in the last few games.

The most shocking revelation out of this is that McClaren is only 44 I would've had him down for being in his late 50's.

Scolari withdraws application for England Job
ewerk replied to curry stained pilchard's topic in Newcastle Forum
Its fucking embarassing for him. Its like the geeky kid in school, "Pick me! Pick me!" . He needs to catch a grip of himself and realise that they aren't going to choose the guy who shouts the loudest for it, its obviously going to be who has the best record over the last six games. -
Doesn't it go down to results against each other if two teams can't be seperated by the usual means? Though it would be great to see, like our own cup final.

Gay as fuck the lot of yis.

How can you say that?

7th and he's not our permanent manager (yet).

It seems to get a crack at one of the top jobs these days managers really have to over-achieve, it wasn't like that in days gone past, if a club needed a new manager they didn't choose them from the continent, they were more inclined to try an Englishman who had been doing well, but with the influx of foreign players comes the managers as well. Having the likes of Mourhino, Benitez and Wenger has benefitted the PL but to the detriment of English managers' chances of getting those top jobs. However the fact is that this time round there have been no viable English choices, none of the top 7 in the league are managed by Englishmen so the FA have no choice but to look further afield as the talent simply isn't there.

No big Jack on the BBC World Cup pundit panel
ewerk replied to Smooth Operator's topic in General Chat
I remember him as a pundit on Sky last year, possibly for one of our games. He was pissed as a fish, then suddenly went missing from the studio after the game, made for entertaining tele though. -
So you wouldn't?

Chantelle Houghton at no. 50? Says it all really. What the problem with Fearne Cotton? She'd definetly get it.

I know the feeling, I've got an essay due in for Tuesday which I haven't started yet and another essay and a dissertation for the 16th May which also haven't been started. So if anyone has any special knowledge of the economics involved in S.2 (2) of UCTA 1977/Race in the Anglo-American New Right/Civil Liberties in post 9-11 America be sure to let me know.

Exactly, the problem doesn't lie with the FA, it not their fault that there are no English managers with the experience or skills for the job. The problem seems to be with the big clubs who aren't willing to give a young English manager the chance, they'd rather get in a foreigner with a proven track record. Though saying that there is no obligation on clubs to go English, they have to appoint the best man for the job and can't afford to take a chance on unproven managers.
-
We should've at least tried to get him, I remember about the time Souness was sacked he said he would welcome any approach from an English club, not exactly a come and get me plea but I'd be disappointed if Freddy hadn't explored that avenue.

You're laying off a £20 bet ffs, times must be tough.

Skybet are offering 5/4 on them going through, also makes the maths easier.
