  1. Dominating the media, which of your players are being burgled at the moment ?
  2. Talksport's north east correspondent, Graham Courtney claims that Alan Shearer has said he would accept the Newcastle United job if offered but is not persuing it.
  3. Bollocks, we're shite because we keep appointing shite managers. Where exactly do you think we would be if we'd have given Souness, Gullit and Roeder 5 or 6 years ? and as for the "Redknapp out" thread, I think you've just been wooshed !
  4. Ashley has bought the club at great expense and has every right, in my opinion, to have his own man in charge.
  5. Jimbo would say we're improving at deciding when people are shit. It's a good thing. Well said, just a shame we can't decide when people are shit during the selection process.
  6. That Amy Winehouse has really gone too far.
  7. Thats my view too, although there are others I would prefer, I certainly think he's a step forward from Allardyce. Just remember you said this after 9 matches You can't fault me on my Souness, Roeder and Allardyce out campaigns, they were proved perfectly just in hindsight, its just I lost patience with them about 3 months before anyone else did. Think of me as the Toon Nostradamus
  8. This tbh. I bet this isn't what the Allardyce Out Brigade had in mind. It's not blown my socks off but I'm not disapointed, I think he'll be a big improvement on Allardyce.
  9. Don't you ever get bored of being irritatingly positive about mediocre managers? The board needs a counterpoint sometimes. What are you trying to say ?
  10. Thats my view too, although there are others I would prefer, I certainly think he's a step forward from Allardyce.
  11. Well, you knew it was only a matter of time so I didn't want to disapoint anyone
  12. On a Pompey forum. From .com: 29.12.07 Portsmouth 0 Middlesbrough 1 26.12.07 Portsmouth 0 Arsenal 0 15.12.07 Portsmouth 0 Tottenham 0 01.12.07 Portsmouth 0 Everton 1 11.11.07 Portsmouth 0 Man City 0 27.10.07 Portsmouth 0 West Ham 0 Not very impressive is it, but i can't see any defeats to Derby on their results.....
  13. Here's your £20m deal, 'Arry By STEVE BRENNER Published: Today rigTeaserImage NEWCASTLE will offer Harry Redknapp £20million to be their new boss. Redknapp or his adviser will meet Magpies officials in London today. Billionaire Toon owner Mike Ashley is determined to land the Portsmouth chief and will hand him a whopping four-year deal worth £5m a year. That’s a staggering FIVE TIMES what he is earning now at Fratton Park. Ashley will also: # Allow Redknapp to commute to work by plane from his beloved South Coast. # Hand him a transfer war chest to go for men like Spurs’ Pascal Chimbonda. # Pay Pompey £3m compensation. Redknapp, 60, has told pals he haS taken Portsmouth as far as he can and would welcome the challenge at St James’. But the deal is far from done. Brother-in-law Frank Lampard Snr said: “He’s a top, top manager but I don’t know if he would leave the South Coast, to be fair. “He’s settled down there. He likes taking his dogs for a walk along the coast. But time will tell, I suppose.” Immerse himself There are six flights a day from Southampton to Newcastle with only one on a Saturday but Redknapp would want Ashley to organise a private jet. Yet Redknapp’s reluctance to move to Tyneside would not go down well with the Toon Army, who would want the new man to immerse himself in the North East. Redknapp signed a new four-year deal at Pompey in October and Fratton owner Alexandre Gaydamak would want the contract paid in full before any talks can begin. That will be no problem for Ashley, who stumped up an estimated £6m to get rid of Sam. But Pompey last night issued a statement, insisting no formal approach has been made for Redknapp. The statement read: “We take it as a compliment that our personnel are often linked with some of the top clubs in this country and, indeed, abroad. It is a testimony to the quality of their work. “The club has received no approaches for the services of our valued manager. He remains as committed as ever.”

  15. Was just about to post the same piece, that sums up my feelings perfectly.
  16. What we definitely don't need is another messiah. Had plenty of those. He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy......
  17. Jimbo

    Hughes?

An improvement on Allardyce, but Meh all the same.
  18. The "through the proper channels" comment in the club statement makes me beleive their target is currently in employment.
  19. Only days ago Mort was commenting on the stories about Allardyce's future as "tiresome" seems strange to make those comments and sack your man so soon after unless there is some truth in the rumour of the approach from a top manager, something out side seems to have triggered this.
  20. Lots of money pooring in on Redknapp according to Talksport. In brown envelopes probably.......
  21. The timing seems strange unless there is a major name coming, to sack your manager during the transfer window is rather poor timing unless your new man is waiting in the wings.
  22. I'd echo that statement. Have you forgotten starting an Official Allardyce Out thread about a month ago? Allardyce gets the shit for not playing the team you wanted him too, and now the Chairman gets it for not sacking him the way you wanted him to. No, I started the infamous "allardyce out" thread in recognition that we'd once again fucked up and appointed the wrong bloke, of course I wanted rid of the man, but to sack him without having a replacement smacks of poor handling.
