  1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dede Leonardo de Déus Santos (born 18 April 1978), nicknamed Dedê, is a Brazilian professional football player, who currently plays for German club Borussia Dortmund. He has played a single match for the Brazil national team. Dedé is the brother of footballer Lucas de Deus Santos. Born in the Brazilian industrial town of Belo Horizonte as the second of six brothers, Dedê was introduced to football at an early age, playing three-a-side matches with his brothers in his parents' apartment. "Our living room was the biggest room and also our playing field, with the doors to the kitchen and the bedroom as our goals. Well, you can imagine, we always broke things in the living room." On club level Dedê first played for the local club of Atlético Mineiro, both as a junior and senior. In 1998 he was awarded with the “Silver Boot” as the second best wing-back of the Brazilian league. That year he also signed for Borussia Dortmund, where the winger soon won the fans' hearts with his committed, spectacular performances. He not only became a regular starter for BVB, he was also one of the key players in the club's championship winning season of 2001-02. After a brief stint with the Olympic team, cut short by a knee injury, Dedê finally made his debut for the Seleção in Brazil's 4-1 win over Hungary in April 2004. The 28-year-old is now BVB's second longest serving member (after Lars Ricken) and has established himself as one of the most valuable players in the club. In the past he has also always been a great help by integrating his Brazilian compatriots into the team. He is very good on the ball, has strong tackling abilities and is difficult to knock off the ball. His close dribbling skills and technical abilities also enable him to play in a more central role. Dedê is a great passer of the ball and can also score goals.

  3. SSN just showed a very brief interview with Smith, looks like they sneaked up on him outside a shop. He said all going well he'll sign tomorrow morning.

  5. Go on Matt, do your stuff
  6. I usually switch between left and right hands...
  7. Nah, nothing to report yet, but fear not, my right hand remains on a hair-trigger as ever.
  8. I know what you mean about Lewis, as good as I think he was I don't think he reached his physical potential, as for his oposition, I think its a bit unfair, apart from Riddick Bowe, he boxed and beat every top heavyweight of his era, although you could argue the quality of heavyweights weren't that great at that time in comparision to other eras, but even so he beat Holyfield, Tyson, Ruddock, Klitchko, thats not a bad CV in my mind, but I would have LOVED to have seen him fight Bowe.
  9. The boy's a bit special, but then again so was that lad Sonny Pike a few years back, where's he now ?
  10. Agreed, Tyson was fantastic at his peak, but his peak was pretty short, Lewis dominated the division for longer and was a better all-round fighter, but I'd put Holyfield up their also, both deserve to be mentioned with the greats.
  11. I'd rather this money was being spent on a left back.
  12. Just watching this on CNN and SKY News, RIP to those who lost their lives
  13. Agreed, it was cringeworthy.
  14. Caution for TV bottom pinch man A man who pinched a Channel 4 News presenter's bottom during a live broadcast has been cautioned. Sue Turton was speaking to the camera from Oxford's flood-hit Osney Island when a man was seen on film walking past her on Bridge Street on 27 July. She said she found the incident "quite humiliating" but continued reporting and did not wish to pursue the matter. A police spokeswoman said: "A man has been cautioned under the Public Order Act. There will be no further action." On Tuesday, Ms Turton said in a statement she had "no desire to punish this man through the courts". But she added she found "the matter quite humiliating and somewhat disrespectful to the plight of those I was reporting about". She also pointed out that "male reporters would never be treated to a public goosing". As well as being shown to a national television audience, the incident has been viewed thousands of times on video-sharing website YouTube.
  15. Looks like I'll have to change my sig tomorrow !
  16. I wonder if it's a swap deal ?
  17. He was at Old Trafford tonight but didn't play.
  18. Does he not get played on the wings a fair bit though? Aye and in "the hole" too, but even so his return looks pretty poor to me for an attacking player.
