    Ali 65 today

Think Ali would have won it as he would have been too smart for Tyson and in the end just frustrated him, as no doubt leading into the fight he would have wound Tyson up something rotten and Tyson would have went into it all guns blazing with no plan whatsoever. Agreed, but Tyson would always have a punchers chance, Ali was put on his arse several times during his career, although I feel Ali would have done to Tyson what he did to Liston and Foreman, you never know, with Tyson's power he might have had enough power to keep him on the canvas for 10. We'll never know.
  3. Because it takes my mind off the shit I just watched and the absolute hiding I'm going to get at work tomorrow.
  4. Its more about the players he did pick, IE the likes of Pattison who was fucking crap on Sunday and somehow got in the starting XI today.
  5. Tbh I rather think it was a mental problem today. They thought they would walk this game home today but got totally caught on the wrong foot with the early goal. No excuse, but in its extremity I consider this game as a fluke. I just hope that the confidence of the youngsters hasn't totally gone to pieces. I think Sundays result at WHL was more a fluke... That result was just a thin coat of paint on what was on the whole a shit performance for the most part.
  6. None of them deserve my time to even compile a rating.
  7. Quoted for truth, it is utterly terrible, just like the show.

    Ali 65 today

I think that cobblers, his defences were against total has beens ! Archie Moore who was about 45 at the time, Don Cockle ffs who was utter shite, Jersey Joe Walcott who was at least 40 and Marciano struggled to beat, Ezzard Charles, a great light-Heavyweight that was past his peak that Marciano REALLY struggled to beat, strong rumours that the Mafia threatened the ref when he wanted to stop the fight due to Marciano's busted nose. Marciano was a great fighter, but to call him the best is a long way wide of the mark in my opinion, for me its between Ali and Jack Johnson.

  10. Read a review in the Guardian which was full of high praise. Fancy seeing it myself. I went to see it at the weekend, it was excellent - particularly the peformance from Forest Whitaker. To be fair Forest Whitaker's career peaked with his debut as an undercover cop in Bloodsport, he's never going to be in a better film than that!!! He was utterly fantastic in series 5 of The Shield.

  14. Ronaldo heading for Madrid exit Real Madrid's Brazilian striker Ronaldo has been told he can leave the club. Ronaldo, 30, is the second big name to be told he is surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu after David Beckham agreed to move to LA Galaxy in August. "The situation is different to that of Beckham as Ronaldo still has another year on his contract after this one," said club president Ramon Calderon. "But he is going to be inactive because the coach has made it clear he doesn't count on him." Ronaldo has started only three league matches under Italian coach Fabio Capello, who has been focusing on bringing in new blood since taking over in the summer. Following the win, Capello celebrated by making an obscene gesture towards a small section of the crowd that had been calling for his head - although he did later make an apology. "I want to apologise to everyone but this has been going on since the first day I arrived. here. There are two people behind the dug-out who are continually offensive," he said. "The gesture was towards those two but, as the coach of Real Madrid, I should apologise," said Capello, outraged that his abusers this time had a sign that said 'Ronaldo stay, Capello get lost'. But it is the Brazilian who is heading for the exit and Ronaldo could follow Beckham to Major League Soccer following speculation over a move to New York Red Bulls. The former Cruzeiro, PSV Eindhoven, Barcelona and Inter Milan forward has also been linked with a return to Italy with Juventus and a move to Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia. Al Ittihad president Mansour Al Balwi said on Friday: "There is definite interest. We have not negotiated with him but very soon we will start the process of getting in contact with him." Calderon added: "We have to find an exit that's good for him. "I know sporting director Predrag Mijatovic has had conversations with some clubs and that the player also has offers but we'll have to wait and see whether it will be now or in June. "It would surely be better for the club and him if he went if there are offers. If not, he will stay with us."
  15. Titus Bramble will be handed a new contract by Newcastle United as manager Glenn Roeder fights to keep the powerful centre-back. Bramble - who is close to a return to first-team action after a serious calf injury - has always maintained the support and confidence of Roeder, and he will be rewarded for his impressive form this season with an extended deal. It had been suggested before Christmas that the 25-year-old, a £4.5m signing from Ipswich Town in 2002, was not going to be kept by United after a brief run of early-season blunders. But Roeder is confident the defender's best years are ahead of him. The Magpies boss believes Bramble is the best natural defender at the club and that, with the right coaching, the concentration lapses which have undermined him throughout his career can be erased. Newcastle have been frantically searching for a new centre-back during the January transfer window but they still want to keep Bramble, who was in excellent form before he suffered his calf injury against Eintracht Frankfurt at the end of November. The former England Under-21 international has been free to negotiate a Bosman-style free transfer since the start of January but has always maintained he wanted to stay on Tyneside, despite interest from Portsmouth, Fulham and Celtic. Bramble will join Antoine Sibierski, Nolberto Solano and James Milner in pledging his future to the club as Roeder looks to ensure he does not lose any of his key players at the same time as he searches for new faces to bolster his small squad. Meanwhile, Newcastle's latest unlikely goal hero Paul Huntington believes that his equaliser against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend will help erase the bad memories from United's 2-2 FA Cup draw at Birmingham. Huntington was partly at fault for Sebastian Larsson's late equaliser at St Andrew's but made amends with his first goal for the club at White Hart Lane on Sunday. The 19-year-old Cumbrian drilled a low shot past England keeper Paul Robinson at his near post to join fellow Academy graduates Steven Taylor and David Edgar on to Newcastle's goalscorers list this season. He said: "Centre-back is an important position and I know I wasn't good enough at Birmingham. "The manager told me in the changing room (at Tottenham) that I responded well which is what I was looking to do. "It was a relief for me because I have been waiting a while. To pull the shirt on is a dream, to be honest, but to score and help the team win is special. "It wasn't just the goal it was the team's all-round play on the day. "It was a great feeling and good to get it out of the way. My colleague David Edgar got his two weeks ago against Manchester United and now I am pleased to join him. The ball just broke me to and I hit it as hard as I could." He added: "I am getting used to first-team life, I just want to stay in the team. Celestine Babayaro is out so I have a chance at left-back. "Tottenham isn't an easy place to come and win and now we have done the double over them, which is great. To come away with three points is a great feeling."
