  1. I think there have been glimpses of it so far, one that springs to mind for me was in the Tahlin game where he overtook and rounded the left back to win the ball back.
  2. Its about the games as much as the machine, if you prefer Nintendo syndicated games over Xbox then that should make your decision for you.
  3. Christopher Biggins End of thread !
  4. What argument ? "great player, shame about the human being" seems to be a statement all agree with.
  5. It's Liverpool on Wednesday, there'll be scant opportunity for that. Sad but true.
  6. Growing up I didn't have much choice as my parents are both Vegans, but I'm now firmly a meat eater now.
  7. I'll be paying close attention to his distribution. I'll be paying close attention to him keeping the ball out of the back of the net, anything else is a welcome bonus.
  8. Even more reason to drop Bramble tbh.
  9. Ask Rob, he was a proctologist when he was in Nam.
  10. Wish him all the best from me, but remind him that a good wank is the universal panacea for any medical problem.
  11. SHAY Given will remain in hospital for "a short stay" after undergoing surgery to repair a small tear in his lower stomach suffered during yesterday's 2-0 victory at West Ham United. The Irishman spent a comfortable night in a London hospital after receiving treatment following his collision with Hammers' striker Marlon Harewood in the latter stages of the victory at Upton Park. Manager Glenn Roeder told nufc.co.uk: "Shay has had surgery to repair a small tear in his lower stomach. "He is comfortable and will have a short stay in hospital. "We'll let things settle down now and it's too early to be putting any date on when he'll be expected back." United have a double Mersey mission looming, with Wednesday's trip to Liverpool followed by Everton's visit to St. James' Park on Sunday. Steve Harper deputised for Given in the closing moments at West Ham and boss Roeder knows he his long-standing back-up keeper will be ready to answer any call-up.

I'm not sure if sitting back is the best way to deal with Liverpool, I've not been impressed with them at all this season, it might be best if we took the game to them, the only tactical team selection I would make is to leave Titus Bramble at home.
  16. Boro agree Woodgate fee with Real Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate said the club has agreed a fee with Real Madrid for Jonathan Woodgate. The 26-year-old centre-half moved to Boro on a season-long loan in August with an option for a permanent deal. "We have a fee agreed with Real Madrid. Now our job is to encourage him to stay with us," said Southgate. "The fans have already shown how much they think of him. Now we have to prove we can give him what he wants and develop him as a player." He has endured an injury-blighted spell with Real Madrid, playing just 13 games in his two-year spell. Southgate added: "Jonathan has a presence that filters throught the side. "I sensed his desire immediately. It is great to have someone come from the club he has and set the example he does. "I know he was disappointed not to prove himself over there. But he is still as good a centre-back as any around." Woodgate admitted he was keeping an open mind on his future. "I am definitely here for the year whatever happens and then we will see. Right now I don't know."

I agree, Emre has been superb of late, I rate Zog very highly, but I see no harm in rotating him and Emre when ever possible, with the track record of both Duff and Emre, either or both will pick up a knock now and again and then its up to Zog to keep the shirt.

  19. NEWCASTLE United goalkeeper Shay Given was taken to hospital in London on Sunday evening after suffering from acute abdominal pain caused by a collision with Marlon Harewood in the latter stages of the 2-0 victory over West Ham at Upton Park. The brilliant Irish international - who on Thursday was crowned as the North East Football Writers' 2006 Player of the Year - looked to be in some discomfort as he was stretchered from the field. Rather than fly back with his Magpies colleagues, Shay was kept down in London to be checked out. Club Doctor Roddy McDonald stayed with Shay. Glenn Roeder said afterwards: "It was a nasty collision, but it was one of those things that happens in games and it certainly wasn't intentional. "We left Shay in London to be checked over, and we hope he will be OK. He was in quite a bit of discomfort after the game, to the point where he was struggling to breathe, and we wish him well."

  21. I cracked a couple of ribs about 4 months ago and the pain had gone within 2½ weeks and I played football again within 3 weeks.. Rolling pin ?
  22. Thats what pisses me off, fans can be hostile and abusive, scream and hurl abuse at opposition players taking a corner, but waving is inciting the crowd.
  23. I find the stick Roeder is getting from the Cockernys is pathetic, football fans spend 90 mins singing and taking the piss, a manager gives his fans a wave and there is uproar ! Pathetic !
