  1. Rotherham ?? The Millers. 'Millerman' ???
  2. Aye, where ye from like? I know Belfast I mean when you were a kid. Belfast's a nice place though, so it is. I was brought up in Burradon, mainly. Never lived in Shields, hardly ever been to the place. Belfast's sound, aye. Not too dissimilar to the Toon is a lot of ways. I'm only here through the week though. 3. 0. Once spent a month living in digs in Belfast while waiting for a ship to be fitted out, Had a good time there and wouldn't be surprised if there's some folks been searching for their biological father. Nobody's found me yet. Dad? Great Grandad more like. That's more like it. After all, it was the Titanic he was waiting to be fitted out.
  3. My father is a sunderland fan, despite coming from N.Shields Like others have posted, he used to go to sunlun one week and Newcastle the next. Sunderland are pretty much the same as us - as far as supporters go. Trouble is that over the last twenty years, or so, a certain amount of hatred has grown up between us. This is ten times worse from them towards us, as they have watched NUFC being darlings of the media for a long time - something they find hard to accept; it's a bit like a really ugly girl, with serious zits, plukes, flaky skin, greasy hair, waarts, B.O. and a humpty back (sunlun) having a supermodel sister (Newcastle United) and the ugly lass having major problems coming to terms with the situation.
  4. what do they do now then Send it by Airmail ??? (do I hope that joke isn't too much?)
  5. Went to see National Treasure:Book of Secrets last Friday. Hmmm, got a bit ridiculous at times tbh. Cross between Raiders of the Lost Ark and Mission Impossible. 6.5/10 on the hips scale. btw good to see This is England get the best British film at the BAFTA's yesterday. Still think it didn't go far enough after setting up such a strong racist thread, and a bigger budget could have done that.
  6. You telling Sir Les to get his boots back on??? Mongtastic
  7. I see that Scudamore has said this overseas soujourn is to take the whole Premiership along as it would happen with 4 or 5 clubs anyway. He says that if the whole shooting match didn't do it, then the four or five clubs would cash in and the rest would get nought. So, in a nutshell, it IS about money. What a surprise. Told my missus that if NUFC do go through with all this then hips will no longer set foot inside SJP. No great loss to NUFC but I, for one, will have reached the end of the road with this vulgar cash pantomime that is modern football. EDIT: Turning one's back forever is not an easy thing to do, I do appreciate.
  8. Me too. That smilie should only be used by me !!!!!!!!!!!!!11111111111111111 (does that end this argument?)
  9. He's served his punishment iyam. UK Athletics can't make it up as they go along! However, I think UK Athletics can still not pick him under an 'exceptional clause' in their rules. I don't know if this is correct, but I heard it on the radio this morning. I wonder how UK athletics will implode once th truth about Dame whatshername comes out. As for Cram: FUCK OFF YOU MACKEM TOSSER.
  10. I must say I like the lack of newspaper reports coming from our current board. Shepherd would have deffo taken the flak for us not signing anyone during January, but we completely believe (quite rightly imo) that it was Keegan's call during this window.
  11. Aye the Arsenal games you may as well just ignore, Bolton was genuinely no time and they came completely looking for the draw (and a team with our lack of creativity is always going to struggle vs a team with a constant 10 men behind the ball). Villa and Boro, well good and bad in there, but still it's the same squad with the same problems and no magic wand. The annoying thing v Bolton was the fuckin' enormous amount of time it took to attack Bolton once we got the ball back following their attacks - thus giving them an eternity to get everyone back behind the ball and in position. I'm as 'happy' as I was when Keegan came. He was never going to turn this shambles of a squad around overnight. I said 5th bottom when he came, and I still believe that is where we'll finish.
  12. It seems like this is always the case. Yet when 'tv' interview folk outside Anfield or Old Trafford, they manage to speak to people far removed from the brain-dead chavs they get at SJP.
  13. He's from London actually Snakey. True. He's shit I think he's worth persevering with, tbh, but I haven't seen as much of him as you lot have.
  14. Go easy, people. Taylor's from Whitley Bay. Well, Monkseaton which is a suburb of the mighty Bay We wont have 'outsiders' dissing our own. Let's just say he needs to improve.

    Why...

I want to believe that, have to believe that, he has the necessary talent to do that but my concern is that he might walk out the door as he has done before. To knowingly walk into an already high pressure situation is a diabolical position to be in from the start but the fact that KK has accumulated only one point since he arrived has to be piling more pressure on him albeit pressure he is putting on himself for not doing as well as he hoped for. My concern is that his self-applied pressure may prove too much for Kevin but I sincerely hope not as I don't think the pressure from the fans or the board are a factor in the equation at this time. 2 points. Bolton and boro. See, things are better already, Noelie!!
  16. My thoughts as well. Enough to keep us up - just.
  17. Really don't understand how it would be Allardyce's fault if we were relegated. We were mid-table when Keegan took over, if we go down it's squarely on his head. Hard to disagree with that. I don't believe Allardyce fucked up the club, I think he had the right idea in what he was trying to create. Personally, I still reckon we should've stuck with him until the end of the season but that's a moot point now. Keegan is obviously trying to play a certain style of football but the lack of a few key players (Good CB, Creative mid and a world class striker to name a few) is clearly hindering us quite badly. We are in a relegation battle here, make no bones about it. Therein lies the problem iyam. Keegan wants to play a certain way but the players are not good enough to break down the opposition. And when we do go a goal up, Keegan doesn't know how (or want ?) to shut up shop. It will be interesting to see who comes in during the summer, but they will have to be bloody good.
  18. Rumbled. Possibly NSFW Just needed a little eye candy to banish a few 'blues'. :) :D
  19. Great compilation. As some character called 'snake' has said, the compilation is both heartening and sad at the same time. Glad I lived during his time(s) here though
  20. My mrs has been hit twice from behind (oo-er missus!) at that big roundabout near W.Allotment. Despite getting a bad neck on the first occasion and a bad wrist on the second, the thought of claiming for these 'injuries' just seemed wrong to us. Maybe we are wrong. Maybe we should have joined in with today's culture.
  21. are you talking about my point or his? 'Blackness'. you really actually have to ask about that? Yes I would have to ask why a token black player is being included in a photo of apparently other time served and experienced but accidentaly white Man U players in a memorial of the busby babes. Rico, you really must check your facts. Giggs is black. And this is 100% correct - in case anyone was thinking I was on a wind-up. The old chap is right for once. I was astounded to read Rico getting his facts wrong Maybe some 'research' would have helped?

  23. Apparently both teams will be wearing the original kits from '58 on Sunday. And, as the picture shows a little, the players will all be wearing black boots for the occasion. Quite why all this was felt necessary defeats me.
  24. Harsh words, Alex. Remember he's got stress! And anxiety! Aaaaand he can't sleep. Must be worth around £50k.
