He took Leeds down after taking them over mid-season in the shit, and getting a 10 point deduction. The UEFA cup achievement was because of losing finalists in the FA cup - something quite achievable if the run to the final is an easy one. He still took Leeds down.

What's the difference?? I recorded a dvd from vhs yesterday onto -RW. It will play on the recorder but not on this pc or a dvd player in a different room. I did a test onto a +RW disc which played on the dvd recorder and this pc yet not on the dvd player in the other room !! Can anyone explain this ??

I take that to mean they are looking to buy 3 or 4 certainties (players who can come straight into the side) before next season, not necessarily now. I agree with Alex - shades of Souness 'bigging up' the squad.

This hasn't just happened as a result of Mort and Ashley having a 'diskusson ' at Blu Bamboo. Mort hasn't just thought 'I know, let's employ Dennis Wise!' I know nowt about the other two geezers employed but it sounds as though they know something about football (european footballers, in particular). God knows how Dennis Wise's name came to the fore, but someone somewhere must see something in him - for this specific role - to recommend him for this setup. As I said earlier, I cannot stand Wise but I have a feeling this is going to be good for NUFC; fingers crossed I'm right. The only reservation I have is that the three amigos will become 'The Untouchables' in that if things go pear-shaped on the pitch, for a prolonged period of time, these people will have no responsibility for the players they have brought in and the consequenses on the results. They could end up sucking on the golden tit (to borrow a former Wolves owner's phrase) for a long time. Time will tell.

Have to say I love watching this football - loads of crunching tackles going in with the majority of the players just getting on with the game after each one (a refreshing change). Just been transferring a tape to dvd. NUFC v Mackems (the rainy one where Sellars got the only goal) and the game at Grimsby where we won 2 - 0 (how the hell did Ned Kelly's goal go in ????) Great watching :D
