Personally I'd have loved him here but after Souness had spent over £45M in a season, I think Roeders frugality had the best interests of Newcastle at heart and was comendable. After 24hrs to think about yesterday's game, I'm not sure of what to make of it. Their first goal was a hell of a strike. Then we gift them two goals. As I said earlier, our mediocre team were never going to come back from that as Pompey sat back and played a training exercise on us. Then, for the second time in two weeks, we allow a nothing ball go straight through the penalty box without someone clearing it - really worrying. However, James did make two or three good saves proving we created something.

That is how I feel. I thought we would get stuffed by Pompey and we were. However, gifting them two goals in the first ten, or so, minutes is something our mediocre team could never recover from. The thing for me is that XXXL Sam was a banker for tightening up our defence; the reality is that quite the opposite seems to be happening, which is really worrying.

Anyone got this? Mrs Hips and I were in Fenwicks looking at bits and bobs and found ourselves in the tv/electricals bit. There was a 40" tv playing a HD promo tape which was a film taken over Sydney Aust. FUCK ME it was so clear that it was as if I was looking out of a window! Must get one.
