Bramble has nothing to prove to any of us. That red card makes no difference at all. I'm embarrassed by the amount of stick Bruce has been getting over all this, makes no sense to me. A lot of people have just used it as a chance to have a go at him for being a 'Geordie'. Really pathetic.

Looking forward to the new album.

Fair play to the lads to the right of us who were pretty loud throughout. You'd expect it to be nothing less though. Btw that band or whatever the fuck it was that sung Blaydon Races before the game were dreadful! Dragged on for ages. And the lads that left early were let out and back to Central Station, they locked the gates at 70 minutes but before that you could leave. I never left like, presumed we'd just be locked in anyway. Stood there completely numb and embarrassed.

Wow, we were absolutely annihilated. No idea what happened. We just never showed up. Bottled it under the occasion and the pressure. We clearly didn't expect you to take the game to us like you did, yet I think it was fairly obvious that that was going to be the plan considering you went 442. Cattermole spent the afternoon chasing shadows, I really don't believe in the lad anymore. When he first came here he looked really promising but since he got injured he's done absolutely fuck all and needs to be dropped so badly. Henderson and Elmo absolutely shat themselves. Bramble was probably our best player until the red card, a tackle that he shouldn't have even had to make if Onouha was actually in position. He was absolutely dreadful, shockingly bad. Gyan and Bent were given nothing but the occasional hoof to chase. We were unbelievably lucky to keep the score to 5. It could have quite easily been 10+, and that's not even exaggerating. Ah well, time to take it on the chin, dust ourselves off and get a big result at home to Stoke.

Unless you're Skellatits off the SMB, why are you putting 'la' on the end of every sentence? Genuine question! It's the scouse funnyman, toughguymick@hotmail.com in disguise. Embarrassing either way.

Yes but they say the same about you They say that about anyone they fail to beat tbf, like.

Could have been 5-0 up at HT against Birmingham. Sadly it all fell apart when Catts got sent off after half an hour and Mignolet had a complete shocker. Should have beat United, hit the post, Steed missed a one on one. Aye we were jammy as fuck against Arsenal. Blackburn was just a shit game that could have been put away early on if Bent had of scored that one on one. And I guess if Welbeck wasn't brought down after being clean through he would have scored too. Lots of ifs and buts. If you'd have offered us draws in all those games I would have happily took them. Really hard run in at the start of the season.

Aye we're in no position to mock others for being dirty. Tbf to Catts, he was absolutely gutted when he was sent off against Wigan. Have a read of this article here, well, interview: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...t-hid-away.html He's mates with Barton too, wouldn't have guessed that.

Sounds like Cana who turned out to just be a lad who went around looking for yellow cards. Tiote seemed determined to get sent off against Wigan didn't he? Lucky bastard. Only seen glimpses of him tbf and he's looked decent.

Steed plays off the striker so I doubt he'll be marking him anyway. He marks everybody Headless chicken then?

Head - score draw 1-1 2-2 Heart - Newcastle 3 Sunderland 0, Carrol with 2 and Barton with the other Gyan and bent worry me tbh, and if malbranque has one of his games where he decides to run the show we might have some trouble Yep, key man on Sunday. On his day Steed is capable of unlocking any defence. Thankfully he had a shit game against Villa which is normally his one bad game a season. Head - 1-1 Heart - 0-2.

Aston Villa are a far better team than Sunderland and to be honest I would probably say Stoke are better too. Stoke? Really? And you hit Villa at the best time possible. We beat them at the weekend too like. Not sure where all this 'we dont create chances' bollocks from. If our midfield could finish we would have turned over United and Arsenal. We're creating a lot of chances just not putting them away, Completely different to not creating anything. Create enough chances and you'll eventually score one, hopefully we chip in with that odd midfield goal at the weekend.
-
Yet I can see it being a 0-0 or a goal either way. 3 days and counting, then we'll see.

Didn't really mean you personally like, just seems the general consensus in this thread. Strange surge of confidence from you lot.

Mwah x Anyway enough of these mackems talking shite. It'll just make it all the sweeter when we win. We're the toon and they're Sunderland I can't stress that enough, and they know it. Bramble's been playing too well to not have a shocker up his sleeve, and I really believe the atmosphere will be a major factor on Sunday, I'd be happy with 2-0, and settle for 1-0. They really believe they're gonna win the mackems. 6 away wins in the top flight in 8 years in their hearts they think they'll win bless them. Tiote is by far the best midfielder on view, hopefully that's where we win it. You're coming across as a typical mag here, like.

Leaves you a bit short in the middle like, especially considering we're playing 5 in there. Man City did as well and Tiote did the work of 3 men against them....made that yo yo gadgie look like an overpaid shithouse and de Jong wasn't too keen to mix it with someone who can take care of themsleves either, the big fuckin girls blouse. If he wasn't so supernaturally stupid I'd rate Cattermole quite highly as a footballer. Can he be trusted not to do something daft on Sunday? Henderson is good too, but neither them nor Malbranque or any else in your midfield is going to score a goal to help you win the match. Thats why you're only one point ahead of us, despite money spent in recent years dwarfing our championship style budget, not to mention our season actually in the championship. Now do you still think you're going to qualify for Europe? We've never once thought we were going to qualify for Europe, or at least none of my mates have even thought of it! Cattermole will have be completely drilled into keeping calm against you lot, no doubt about it, it'll be the final straw with him if he gets a red. Henderson is always calm no matter what the occasion, mind you he can't wait for this one, buzzing in fact. Not sure why you lot seem so confident. You're making it seem that we're shit, far from it, and we'll be the best opposition you've played at home this year if you ignore last night in the cup. Should be a cracking game, can't wait.

So aye, match thread... What formation and team are you likely to be starting on Sunday? We'll be playing this: Mignolet Onouha Turner Bramble Bardsley Henderson Cattermole Elmo Steed Welbeck Bent With Gyan on at half time probably. Lawro went for a 1-0 win to you lot like, Robbie Williams said 1-1.

Has any fan ever been confident for a derby (especially an away derby)? I think deep down you're always thinking of the worst. Most of the lads I know and most of the SMB will take a draw on Sunday. Ignoring the fact it's a derby, it's an away game, draw your away games and win your home games. I'll take a draw now if you offered it, but that's not to say we couldn't still snatch it. Despite not scoring a ton of goals this season, we're creating a lot of really clean cut chances. The penalties that Bent has scored this season came from him being brought down in front of goal, he would have scored them anyway if he wasn't wiped out. The Man City game being the best example of that, about to shoot and rugby tackled by Richards. If we take the game to you in the first 20 minutes I'll be feeling a lot more confident. We need to silence your lot and build up the nerves around St. James'. An anxious crowd in a derby isn't great. With Steed, Elmo, Welbeck and Bent we have more than enough to cause you problems going forward. If they can't create something in an hour or so then there's always our £13m striker to hoy on. (I'd be worried if they couldn't create anything against your defence in that time though!)

Simpson is definitely not a Premier League player, but tbf to him he can't possibly be worse than Perch. Has he done anything right yet?
-
We rode out luck against Arsenal at times but could have been 2-0 up by half time. How we didn't beat United is beyond me, we couldn't have got anymore unlucky if we tried. And against City we played them off the park for at least 45 minutes and more than deserved the last minute winner, although we got super, super lucky with Tevez's miss. I'm expecting a positive result against Villa tomorrow too... And as the saying goes, form goes out of the window in derby games, so those stats mean nothing really do they?
-
I think they are actually quite different. Gyan will run all day and chase every ball, eventually creating a chance through determination, whereas Bent is always just waiting for that killer ball or opportunity to strike. Gyan hasn't been fit, hence why he hasn't started yet, he only said 2 weeks ago that he feels he's fit enough. He'll probably start against Villa, just in time for the game against you lot. My tickets arrived today too, row R, looking forward to it/shitting it at the same time.
