Andy Carroll aftermath(press conf/interviews etc)
Mac-Toon replied to Barney's topic in Newcastle Forum
Your sig Heart breaking. I don't think this should ever be removed or forgotten. I actually put that up around Dec 10 as well. It was if Pardew knew it would happen. I know mate, I've looked at it with horror everyday since you put it on. Course he knew. It was decided over a game of 5s and 3s and a keg of Gladiator. -

Wouldn't have thought you'd be as superior as usual for a while, after your 100% guarantee that Carroll wouldn't be sold in this window. I read Carroll wrong and not the club. Understandable given his comments. It wasnt a guarantee either, it was a bet that nae one wanted. I'm more upset about this than when Cole left because am a hopeless bellend of a romantic who loved the fact that we had a home grown number 9. If you think i'm going to pipe down as i was convinced he would stay then you're wrong. How did you not read the club wrong? They've chosen to sell the lad when he's tied up on a five year contract. I dont think Man U wanted rid of Ronaldo but they sold him. What about when Rooney put in a transfer request? The club took the time to speak to the boy and work things out. What happened here was; Bid for 35m - Rejected Transfer Request - Accepted within 10 minutes Bid Accepted That doesn't work. Transfer requests can be knocked back and contracts re-negotiated to bring him closer in line with what he's valued at in the current marketplace. Its interesting you bring up Rooney, the reason he stayed was because of his concern for his public reputation with the club be was potentially leaving. The difference here being the club's willingness to match his potential wages and Ronney being a scouser. That's it, like. We wouldn't raise his wages to what he's valued at so we've engineered the move tbh. I honestly and truely believe Carroll will be somewhere now absolutely fucking gutted he's left NUFC and wishes he was still here. I truely believe that. A lot of people will laugh but I do think he'd have been more than happy to stay here. If we'd have just sent him away, said he was injured(which he is) and lied a little over the length of injury then the offers wouldn't have been made. I maybe over-react but emotions are running at an all time artery bursting high and I honestly can't see any improvement being made to the running and direction of this club until the time the owner sells up. I'd let him keep his £35m if he fucked off today. In fact, I'd wire him 10 grand myself as a goodwill gesture on the understanding he never ever returns to the area. -

Which was his wife miscarrying his child. Crazy if it's true and he thought it wouldn't be enough to get him sent home to comfort his wife.

Wasn't the ACTUAL truth though that his wife had a miscarriage and she wanted it kept quiet out of respect so he felt the need to lie? He's got 4 kids if IIRC. Imagine the wife'll fit in well down the meadowell.

Newcastle proper doesn't have one. North Shields will be the biggest round here in 5 years time though imo. My mate Woody runs North Shields and they're a decent side. He's played at Blyth Spartans amongst many others. Canny standard, tbh. We've been along a few times it's canny crack like, the bloke who runs the website is a good lad he looks like a fat Billy Zane, and his mate "geordie" is sound too they migrated there when NBS shut down, there's a hardcore of about 150 I'd say, it will get bigger though. I'd love something to take off but like you say in Newcastle proper. I suppose I'm classed as on the border being just next to the Wills Building (Old Tab Factory) but we need something to get behind. I just can't buy into this NUFC any longer. It fucking stinks, and it's about pride in ourselves now and saying, no more. We'll not make a difference in reality but footballs all about emotion and what's inside you and we're better than these jokers in charge. I might try and get there tonight but grafting in scotland tomorrow so got to be fresh.

Spot on. Board should have showed more ambition. Carroll should have said no IF he meant everything he spewed to the press. Regardless of the blame game, a sad day. I even fucking missed The Biggest Loser 'cos of that carry on last night. I'm holding you firmly to account on this one mate, you said he wouldn't go, you promised me maaaan. Did you find the recipe for that pie?

Liverpool bid £35 million+ for Carroll

Simon Bird telling it like it is I think that's spot on. Simon Bird might'nt be everyones cup of tea but he wears his heart on his sleeve and tells it hows he sees, in this case he's fucking bang on. Bird is a great lad, I know him, he's just like me or you writing in a national paper, I've known him for 16 years top lad and talks sense. He came to one of the NUSC meetings in the early days and when a few wanted to have a pop at him he held his own and talked a lot of sense. Obviously a proper Newcastle fan whos as pissed off as the rest of us. -
I'd support them aswell. My exile from SJP is terminal now, tickets just gone unused. Could start following 'The Heed'

I believe every word that's written. It ended as a mutual agreement by three parties but this whole thing was instigated by one, the owner of Newcastle United. It's absolute fucking bollox. The £35m WILL NOT be re-invested in the playing staff as the FCB manages to grab his money and hopefully fuck off never to be seen again. The blow hasn't been softened overnight, it's a right royal stitch-up which the fans are having to suffer as per the usual script.

Feel like he's ran off with my wife en route. Nobody else to sign. I want to hear Pardews view. Fucking now.

With this price-tag comes pressure unknown to him. What if he does a Robbie Keane? He could be a flop. can't imagine it, but still. I'm clutching at the already strained straws. -

Too soon for jokes. It's all starting to feel very very real. And I don't like brothers.

Here man, it doesn't really matter who we get now. They'll not be a fucking patch on Carroll. The bitterest pill to swallow.
-
I'll still respect AC until the time it's categorically stated the lead-up to his transfer request. Golden handshakes aal 'round I reckon. This fucking stinks, I can't see any positives at all. A cheque isn't going to score us goals and bring us local pride to our domain. Who we got left that we can relate to bar Barton and Harper? No identity in our club and it's a disgrace. No Geordie playing in his first season in the prem with his boyhood club fucks off to Liverpool. It doesn't make sense, and it fucking stinks.
-
Stevie, if it was me I'd be bidding 15m for Podolski and 12ish for Anelka. Instead we'll end up with a no mark mug from Palace or some shite. Sad day.
-
Steve Wraith just said he was on the phone to Carroll not long ago who says he doesn't want to gan anywhere. Interesting.

It'll turn out it's 20 upfront then 15 based on copious other things. Sickner this like
