As if he's got a book out already. Fucking hell. I kna'. Was in hmv on Northumberland st. on sunday and seen it on the shelves. 'My Story so far' ... Eh, we already know mate, your mam tucks you into bed. Fucking hell. Saying that like, I do fancy his calendar -
The problems are that there are adverts on the tv and radio telling people to drink responsibly and not have too much then soon as you go in a bar in town it's 'Push the button' 'Free shots' etc. I remember when at college I got man of the match (dynamic, forward thinking rightback!!!!) and had to have a MOTM drink in the college bar. A top shelf mixture topped with caffreys, stella, milk and guinness. I was 16 and absolutely fucked. Disgraceful behaviour making me have it, tbf. I've passed the stage where I go out to get smashed, I prefer a few sociables, indians then tucked up in my scratcher no later than 1. Sad, but neccessary imo.

He's the epitome of a mackem. -
Looks like Samba wants away. I'd definitely have him. Can play a variety of positions and he strikes fear into the opposition.

I got told the best way to go was on the ferry. They said it's a good laugh (they hadn't banked on me being with her) and plenty to do on the boat. Flights shouldn't be too dear through february I wouldn't have thought. It's probably a good laugh if you're 19 and can take 3 or 4 days solid drinking with a load of mates. With your lass, nar get the plane. Amsterdam, in fact Holland is the only place abroad I think I could happily live, the culture is quite similar and there are loads of little quirks you miss when you leave. They've got these stores called Albert Hejn's and they are like mini Asda's but 1000 times better. To be honest the best time to go is the summer, lying in the Vondel Park on a sunny day beats any beach in the world, and there's loads of things to see and do if your lass likes visting places. There's the Anne Franks museum about the nazi's and all that, the Heineken factory where you come out pissed apparently, the Amsterdam Arena's only 6 stops on the tube, you have Leidsesplein where all the dutch get pissed, the women are beautiful, honestly I couldn't recommend it enough, just stay away from the RL district. I've been to Eindhoven and Rotterdam too mint places, not touristy, but very real with lots of character. I love Holland, or Nederland as they insist it's called, why do they chant "Horrrland" in games then? I can't drink cold tea so that'll be me out of the equation. 4 Kalibers and I'm anyones. Cheers for the advice lads, defo going to sack the ferry off and book flights. Treat the little lady for all the little things she's done for me over the past 7 year.

Flights shouldn't be too dear through february I wouldn't have thought. I don't know who told you that but it's fucking dreadful on the ferry. Not sure what your cup of char is but the entertainment is laughable. Proper cheesy East European cover bands / dance acts. The food is canny crap and overpriced. There's a 'casino' about the size of an average kitchen. Also, they search you for drinks going on and confiscate them (at the North Shields end). They're shit-hot on this and the reason is so that you have to buy drinks from the bar on board. The drinks are expensive (we're talking hotel prices) and there's nothing else to do but drink. Arguably the one advantage of going by boat is that (if you go on one of the two-night 'mini-cruises') you save on the price of a hotel but that's more than cancelled out by the fact that you only get to spend 6 hours or so in the Dam and a total of something like 28 hours on the ferry. I plan to stay over in Amsterdam for 2-3 nights. It was some of the lads at work (younguns) who said the ferry is good. They travel by ferry to smuggle weed back though, the helmets. I'll still drag her for a quick browse at the tarts though.

And if you're going to the Anne Frank house, go first thing in the morning. Or save yourself the bother and sit in a cupboard not eating bacon for a few hours.

Pray for his safe return.

I've yet to buy the missus a christmas present and have been thinking I might just take her to Amsterdam on the ferry for a few days. Is it appropriate for the two of us? I used to be down with the ganja but havn't had any for a few years now and the less said about trick turners the better. Is there actually anything else to do, apart from getting stoned and shagging prostitutes?

I wouldn't let you sleep in my room, if you were growing on my ass.

Steve Bould. That's him. Is he one? I'm sure he had a brief spell with the 'undead' at the back end of his career. He did, aye. Although I wouldn't have remembered him if you hadn't mentioned it. Just hoy the cheque in the post, it's no worries.

Ex Arsenal Centre back. Played with Adams and Keown and them but I've lost his name.

Great shout. WTF? You copying off me, like? Same timing tbh.

There's two I forgot about him. Top thread tbh I only started it as I didn't have a clue what everyone was arguing with Leazes about. I just keep hearing Volvic, My daughter etc etc. Thought this might get the board back on topic

Great shout.

Kieran Richardson? Zenden? Richardson nope. Zenden no. Bardsley? Although don't know if he had enough games at Manure to warrant a medal. Or am I in the wrong era?
