You can't assume that every player we buy will be mediocre, and then assume that we sell all our good players to try and uphold your argument when in fact the truth is you are being needlessly negative towards a situation which has not actually occured. Looking at his stats he's not really good enough is he? Still....FREE and would provide competiton. If only there were some way we could limit the expense of his contract in case he got injured... tbf he has hardly been injured, if you look at the amount of time he has been out since 08, i.e count the days off injured in hardly anything. Not one of them are injuries that have caused long term issues so far and avergaing a goal every 7 ish games from midfield is not that bad either. Barton averages less!

Can i please ask, and this is not a criticism, have those saying we should go out and buy him, h is a phenomenal prospect etc actually seen a whole lot of him. I havn't and therefore can't really comment, but it seems to me he could be very similar to jordan henderson. Completely overhyped which makes people who havn't really seen much of him think he is amazing when he actually may not be.
