  1. L'Equipe is saying just the contrary. Newcastle is ready to make an offer in 55-65 millions.
  2. I like Zinchenko, but he need to play in midfielder. Could be a good option to fight with Joelinton for a starter place.
  3. Perisic to Spurs is done. Maybe we should call the Reguilon door.
  4. Spanish press says we have interest in Nabil Fekir (Betis). For me is top player.
  5. You don't know how difficult it is to be an Atlético fan and live in the same city as Real Madrid.
  6. But it can be changed. For 5-6 years, teams have been playing more and more in 3-5-2 I have to say that in 15 years as a coach, Simeone had always played with 4 back. And since last year he plays 3-5-2. It could not be a coincidence that Howe tried the same thing, especially if we also take into account that Howe was in Madrid for several weeks watching Atletico train and learning with Simeone just before coming to train in Newcastle and if on top of that for the next season he is going to Count on Lodi and Trippier. I agree, Lewis could be better with 5 in the back and Manquillo is a good bench boy for that.
  7. Could be an option. And if you want get the best of Trippier (and Lodi) is the most interesting choice.
  8. To resume I think Lodi can be a good full-back if what we are looking for is a player who attacks a lot. And that he can benefit a lot from playing with someone he knows as Trippier and with Bruno, with whom he really played very well at Athletico Paranaense. I think Lodi is not worth 40 million euros. I think that Lodi has the conditions to be a very, very good left back, but today he is not, and I am not sure that he is capable of becoming one because I have not seen him improve in three years and because you see that he always plays very hasty and thinking very little about their actions. He needs a lot of work. I think that today Lodi is a very acceptable player in attack, but that he has many mistakes in defense. I would not be convinced of the whole signing because I see it as risky. If he turns out well, we can have a very good winger (and as I said, he is a very good guy, humble, family-oriented, hard-working. I would be very happy if he did well). Although later you can sign a more proven player who doesn't work (he goes to all levels), I think there are players who could fit better in the team. To attack, having Trippier and Lodi can be very good. To defend... It's a little problem. Possibly the worst level of him is better than the left backs of 10-12 Premier teams If Lodi ends up coming, we didn't sign a bad player. But yes to one with many doubts.
  9. Agree in all your comment. Just one correction. Marcelo is an ex player. Lodi really competes against Alex Telles and Alex Sandro. Marcelo and Filipe Luis are past. Marcelo last Brazil cap was in 2018 In my opinion, Lodi has reached the national team because he signed for a 'big' team. Those things happen a lot. He was a player who had never played with the U17, U20 or U23. And suddenly, he signed the Atleti, and they summoned him with the absolute. He has benefited a bit from the fact that Alex Telles was not a starter in Brazil and that the coach had some problem with Alex Sandro. I really like Caio Henrique, who is a midfielder turned left back. He was owned by Atleti (always loaned to Brazilian teams) but he sold it just the year he signed Lodi. Curiosities, Caio was the starting left back for Brazil U23. And instead Lodi nothing... Atleti preferred Lodi over Caio. Brazil named them both for the U23 team, to play the pre-Olympic (where Caio Henrique was going to be the starter), but since it was a competition not under FIFA regulations, Atlético refused to allow Lodi to leave with Brazil U23. This made the player angry, because it happened twice. So Brazil, to win the battle against Atlético, decided to call up Lodi with the senior team (and since they were already FIFA matches, Atlético could not refuse).
  10. In my opinion, he is a player who has conditions, but I have many doubts that he can improve. Because in three years I haven't seen him do it. I, as an Atleti fan, would be happy if it was sold for 30 million euros. Because he really hasn't shown anything in three years. And yes, okay, he is a winger with the Brazilian team, etc etc etc. But at Atleti he doesn't count for the coach because he plays three good games and seven bad ones. And I think there are better options. And obviously also as a Newcastle fan, I would like there to be another option. Then you never know. Perhaps at Atleti he has not exploded, but Howe can get the most out of him. Yesterday I read, I don't remember where, that Howe wants a very deep side and that he attacks a lot. Lodi is that player. He needs to get better at decision making and be more calm. So he maybe he can have room. I already said, I think that with Bruno as a pivot and Joelinton as a midfielder, they can help him a lot in defense. If we buy a left-footed centre-back who is quick and hard-hitting and helps him close his flank, Lodi will be a good fit for sure.
  11. But really you have to analize how important have been Lodi in Atletico in this years. In 2019-2020, his first season in Atleti, he was the only left back in the squad. Really, I have to say, que start the season very well, playing well. Not in defence, but he played in a very advanced position. Atletico played with a lot of midfield that cover the Lodi and Trippier back. Anyway, in somes matches, Simeone had to put Saul as a left back because Lodi was very poor in defence (and really in attack generated almost nothing). He played 3.300 minutes. (To be fair with him, he did an amazing match against Liverpool stoping Salah) In 2020-2021, the second year, he was starter at first, playing 4-4-2 as a left back. Atletico won almost all the matches, but the defence was very bad. He only played the first 3 matches as a starter, and then, Simeone decided to put Saul in Left back. Some weeks later, Simeone decided to change the system to 3-5-2 and put Carrasco as a left back. When Carrasco isn't in the field, Simeone prefered to put Saul or even Lemar before Lodi. I mean. He was the only natural left back in the Squad... and he was the 4 choice to play as a left back. (To be fair, he had a couple of brilliant moments, playing in last minutes, when he get the 1-1 in the 37 match week, crucial to win the league). He played 1.600 minutes In 2021-2022, this year, he have been a bench player. Playing the same or even less than in 2020-2021. Carrasco have been the starter and Lodi the second choice. But in february one thing happened. Carrasco was sent off in Champions League (with 3 match ban) and Lodi played 2 matches against Man United and one agains Man City. He really played as Left Wing in attack and Left back in defence, always helped by Reinildo. He was brilliant (to be fair... he played in the wing agains Lindelof). But you can get an idea of the confidence that Atlético de Madrid has in Lodi when in January, despite selling Trippier, he signed a left back like Reinildo. Lodi played 4-5 matches in a good level, but no more. And he played 1.800 minutes. If you see him with Brazil, he is always playing against teams with a poor level as Venezuela, Chile or Bolivia in a very advanced position. The match more complicated he had was Argentina, in the American Cup final... And they lost because a Lodi Mistake. Really I think Lodi has conditions, overall in attack. He is very fast, he has very good control with the ball, but he barely think with the ball in his foots. In 3 years in Europe really he hasn`t improve. If Howe wants and Attacking left back, Ok, Lodi could be fine. He needs to improve anyway. And probably with Joelinton and Bruno covering, he could improve. But I have so much doubts with him.
  12. The journalist en Spain that is very close to Atletico owner says Newcastle is thinking to make an offer for Lodi in the region of 40M (euros) and this offer would like to Atletico to sell. In Brazil, some papers says Lodi want to go out Atletico because he want to play as a starter to play in the World Cup and Newcastle is more insterested.
  13. Interesting players. Different profiles. Some experienced and trained to be starters like Tagliafico, Gaya, Bensebaini, Angeliño, Caio, Gunter or Bernat. Other younger players who could give equal or better performance than Lodi from now on (and all cheaper) such as Borna Sosa, Mathias Oliveira, Ait Nouri, Wijndal and who would be nice to sign while we stay with Targett.
  14. I don't want to sound bad, but I see a lot of similarities between Lodi and Lewis. Lodi probably has more options to improve. And if you get it, it's great. But I don't know if he will make it. Lodi doesn't quite convince me, and I've been watching him play three years in a row. (To be fair, in 2020 he had a great game against Salah and if that was always his level...) He has played only because Atleti did not have another left back. He is very, very fragile in defense, and you can see that he can be good in attack, but he is very hasty and doesn't think about his actions. In fact, Simeone, in order not to put him, last year he had to change to a five-player defense and put Carrasco as Left Back. The moments in which Lodi has played better this year have been practically playing in the middle on the left, and not in defense. I think he has qualities, but that he is a somewhat limited player when it comes to learning and perhaps he will never end up exploiting. In fact, in 3 years, he has not improved. I don't know if anyone remembers the Copa América final between Argentina and Brazil. The match ended 1-0 with a goal from Di María, which easily entered Lodi's back thanks to a pass from De Paul. Di María said in an interview that during all the days before the match, Ángel Correa (Atlético de Madrid) had told his teammates from Argentina that the best option to attack was to look for balls behind Lodi, who he trained. with Lodi every day and everyone knew that he was very bad defending. On the other hand, Lodi is a boy who seems very simple. Humble. He is a good person. At Atleti, when he played 2-3 games in a row (vs Man United and Celta de Vigo) and the public chanted his name, he left the stadium crying. He looks like a very good person and I would love for him to end up triumphing. But he raises a lot of questions. I think the ideal thing for Newcastle would be to stay with Targett and then try to sign a player who could have a future and progress if they don't trust Lewis more. Or Lodi, if he didn't cost as much as 40 million.
  15. Looks Like Kamara had everything according with Atletico but in the last time he decided Aston Villa because the signing bonus.
  16. The girlfriend of a friend of mine, who was an English teacher in Spain, went to Newcastle to work, and she told me that it was impossible to understand any of Geordie. When I went to Newcastle I went with that fear, not understanding anything. I don't speak English very well, but I can defend myself. But instead... I understood everything perfectly.
  17. I am so sorry. Portuguese is so similar to spanish that I was sure that the translation was not necessary for the Spaniards... Without realizing that you do not speak Spanish. 😂
  18. When Dubravka arrived at the club, I read that he was very good with the ball at his feet and that even BenĂtez sometimes put him in exercises with the midfielders to pass the ball. I personally don't know if Henderson is good with the ball at his feet because I've never seen him play. There are some goalkeepers that I do know are. Above all, today, this is being worked on a lot in schools in Germany and Spain. -Kepa (Chelsea), although he doesn't completely convince me as a top goalkeeper. But Chelsea needs to sell him yes or yes. -Trapp (Eintracht), although I'm not sure he wants to leave Germany. -Leno (Arsenal), another goalkeeper who is going to have to leave Arsenal to play and he is very good. What about Woodman?
  19. Yesterday I told you that audios of the owners of Valencia are leaking. Okay. One leaked last night. In it, Anyl Murthy (the owner) says that Valencia is a beautiful city, but that they don't know how to export the club's brand. And for comparison, he says: 'Newcastle is a shitty city. But on the other hand, the club, at the sponsorship level, knows how to move'. This gentleman hasn't been eating at Greggs.
