Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER
toonotl replied to Sonatine's topic in Newcastle Forum
I'm hoping this whole shareholder loan debacle sees the entire system crumble. Doubt it. But one can dream. It's remarkable that shareholder loans were excluded in the first place and only came to be challenged on the back of the PL, acting as the personalised attack dog of the "big club" establishment", in trying to fuck over City. It's as Gemmers has said on numerous occasions: this is a situation in desperate needed of independent regulation. On the topic of rules introduced to fuck us over by the way, does the club own St. James' Park? If so it'd be just tops if the Saudi's injected some cash to help the club purchase new land for a new stadium, a purchase exempt from PSR considerations, if I'm not mistaken, since land purchase would be capital expenditure, and then immediately sold St. James' Park to a PIF subsidiary for massive "profit" before the PL could rush through a new rule to stop us doing exactly what Chelsea did in selling off their own hotels to themselves to raise a few hundred million worth of PSR headroom. That would be just peachy. So long as I'm understanding this racket correctly, there is nothing to stop us doing such a thing. Is that correct, so-called accountants? -
I'm on it. Here ya go, LTA:

Unsurprisingly, that referee and every other one would still rather have a beer with Faruk Koca over Jurgen Klopp. -
I met a woman there by the river. What a tease. All she did was Babylon.

He's so brilliant when he's on form and injury free. I like the way Howe is using him as an impact player to deliver enormous energy for 60-70 minutes. Perhaps it's a measure to build his fitness up but it seems to work in its own right. Completely agree with Dazzler. He'd be in and around the international scene if it weren't for his injury setbacks. You'd have to think he would have been in line for a callup when his hamstring popped at the end of that CL qualification season. He has more energy than the rest of a Southgate-inspired midfield put together.

They keep proving him wrong. Not sure why the rest of us get away with it. But there it is.

Completely agree, Gloomy. Not sure if you're thinking along the same lines, but, for me, it's an example of a match where we could play Tonali at 6 and Bruno at 8. Howe likes 8s with the pace to run in behind, but against a team happy to sit deep, who will let us have possession and challenge us to break them down, runs in behind from deep are less likely to be effective, and, so, I'd like to see Bruno in the 8 position to get our key playmaker further up the pitch. I'd still like the Willock-Joelinton setup on the left and left-mid to keep things organised. I think Howe has hit on a golden goose there as they dovetail beautifully and seem to have a wonderful understanding of each other's games. I'd also like to see Kelly start ahead of Burn. Against a team likely to gift us possession and try to counterattack, I feel like pace at the back will be crucial to (a) give everyone confidence to execute the press with the necessary level of aggression to keep them penned in, and (b) the ability to recover when the press doesn't work (and having Tonali at 8 helps there too I think given his extra pace over Bruno).

"Officially"? What's involved? Has the club been notified?
