More than that, and because they're concentrating on the NFL Europe games at Wembley, also I don't think everyone was happy we were just getting the dregs. Theres a lot of Newcastle fans, but if we played in League 2 i'm sure 50000 wouldn't turn up for example Eh? So because they play one game occasionally at Wembley it means there's not enough support for a European league? And that proves it's a popular sport in Europe does it? Erm, aye that makes sense. Also, if it was as popular as you suggest, wouldn't there be enough European players coming through the ranks in order to make up for the fact we only got the 'dregs'? The reason we only got shit US players is because no one plays it in this country or Europe as a whole. And don't say it's a young sport either because it's been on telly here since the early 80s. 30 years does make it young tbf. Not many Europeans came through because Rome wasn't built in a day, I don't know enough English people with the physical strength to do it, and who really thinks they can make the NFL/NFL Europa growing up? I've loved the sport for years, but theres no youth structure for me to go up! The leagues over here are for adults, meaning we need a stronger youth system to do it. Slowly we're learning that not only British sports are fun to play (Basketballs becoming a bit popular over here with young' uns and a Brit plays for the Bulls) but it won't be done overnight. Once all stupid "only play our sports" views are eradicated we'll have more chance of bringing through our own stars, and maybe NFL Europa can start on an even playing field So it's more popular amongst young people but there's no youth system in this country? Righto. Yes, youths can't fund a youth system can they? I know loads of youths who like it, how do you expect them to do anything about it? When we're older we could fund it, but right now theres no chance. Also, whoever said the irony is even Americans think its shit, even if that was true, its not ironic Dear me. When you get to 40 you'll probably think what a mug I was playing that shite in the park. 25m kids play our football in America, 250 max play American Football here, and it's going to be massive right? Noone said anything about it becoming massive. Over a million people in the UK watched the last SuperBowl, all i'm saying is a lot of people over here like it, and according to "mostpopularsports.net" (as if that even exists! But it does) rugby isnt in the top 10 in the world, with American Football 10th Prove it. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/...abor-situation/ says 3.5 there, but I think that's including everyone who watched some of it, although thats still impressive

More Americans play association football than English people mind . We used to take an American Football to school, and everyone wanted in when we did. It's genuinely fun "just throwing it about". Not as fun as Heads and Volleys or anything, but I never said once that I preferred American Football over regular football... just some rugby fans on here proving what I first said about rugby. "OMG e's tlkin aboot a sp0rt dat isnt rugby lets tlk aboot rugby anyway its soooo superior"

Someone doesn't get the rules ey . Worldwide more people play it than rugby, that can't be ignored, even if in our little Isles there is more older people who snub anything non-British. What a load of complete pish, participants in rugby world wide will out number yank iron or whatever 20:1 thats no exaggeration neither. Well let's say a few thousand in Britain and Germany. In Mexico theres thousands, Japan thousands too, we can count Canadian Football as a different form (like union/league) which gets tens of thousands altogether in Canada. That's not counting all the other wee Central American nations. Plus theres a few million altogether in the US. So unless rugby has over 40 million players worldwide (and i'm only counting in actual leagues, I play American Football with my mates but I don't play for a team or anything) your statistics are well off. Besides, most rugby players are in the commonwealth anyway

Well ones thing for sure, he wouldn't be able to sell any players off, with the way those players are treated as slaves! I don't think so, because they're privately funded and everything, I don't think a billionaire would waltz in and demand SportsDirect@USC. Also, wiki says Southern Cal's endowment is 2.9 billion dollars , presume someone would have to pay that out, altogether a bad idea

Aye but you're all older like. Like i'm saying with the younger generation we appreciate it a lot more. It's a smarter game too, so the idiots that like rugby probably can't get their heads around it.

First thing I thought. "What's he doing buying the Gamecocks"

Totally backdated and ignorant views about typical rugby players the majority of the rugby players I know are bang into their football aswell, even the big fat props who can't play the game still enjoy watching it. We even play football in the off season to keep our fitness up. Nobody goes on about how much harder rugby is then football, we're expected to take hits in rugby. Someone slide tackling you and wiping you out when you're running down the wing and you're not expecting it hurts a lot more then a big tackle. The only time I take the high ground over footballers is the way footballers talk to the ref or their own players, honestly, it's a fucking disgrace. So basically your whole argument is that American Football is better to watch then rugby because it's more tactical? Honestly mate, it's not better. Rugbys full on end to end for 80 minutes, there's too many stoppages in your sport for it ever to be big over here. Besides, you're underestimating how tactical rugby actually is. Fair enough we don't have as many calls as you do, but who knows maybe of we had a few minutes to discuss it may be a more technical game, instead your fly half, hooker or scrum half makes a call and you're supposed to know exactly where the ball is going, and how it's getting there. Sounds like you're just bitter because rugbys abit more popular. I'm 17... and i'm talking from experience, like I said I only know 1 real rugby fan, everyone else prefers American Football. I say it's better to watch because it's more tactical, more physical, and more people over here (as well as in the US) watch it on television, and the Wembley games show that 90k people will turn up to a regular season game. I genuinely believe American Football is bigger over here, but I guess that's just because i'm younger and haven't been brought up with the typical "I onli lyk da british gems because da amerikans dnt lyk our sports " (Ironic when they have the biggest real football amateur leagues and noone outside the commonwealth plays our sports that arent normal football). I don't hate rugby, I just don't like most rugby fans attitudes, when theres a reason noone cares about Rugby outside the World Cup/Arguably Six Nations, and the club scene is pitiful. I guess i'll watch my sport with the other millions of people and you watch yours with your thousands of people, okay?

Agreed, I hate Italy and Italian sides, and Inter v Barca 09-10 showed it more than anything, especially with Mourinho's littel gay celebration after and everyone eating that shit up about how great he is and him "silencing Barca", then he goes to Madrid . Mexico too, Mexico and Italy, the two teams I hate most in world football

But do you reckon the Famous Five were happy if they camped a lot, or if they were happiest when they waited years then camped? I dunno, poll? They were happiest when they had a good time without spending a lot of money relative to other similar sized groups of children who went camping. But what if they had a better time, but spent more on their tent than the other group, is that better value for money overall? No children should be having a bad net enjoyment cost rate. Do you like camping? Do you like Scotch Eggs?

I think its a bit daft to dismiss a sport you don't follow as 'the least tactical sport'. Have you played rugby? Have you played every sport that isn't rugby? Don't mean to be rude. Edit: FWIW I'm not a snob about rugby or any other sport. I pretty much enjoy anything that involves a contest. Perhaps the reason I'm starting an argument for the hell of it. Yes I have played rugby, i've played most sports, sure I aint played stuff like Lacrosse but i've played all the main sports, and rugby is the least tactical Wait just noticed you're Australian, I haven't played Aussie Rules either, although I would like to .

Do admit I thought you were older , happy 30th Fish, all downhill from here

English 100%. How can I feel British when the Scottish/Welsh get their own parliament, free University fees and prescriptions etc whilst we get fuck all, and then the cheeky bastards complain!

Detroit Lions aren't even a baseball team , can still get caps like, but they're the absolutely shittest team in the NFL
