  1. No they're not, after the expenses scandal ipsa was set up to take the power away from MPs regarding their own pay and expenses. The only way they can reject it is by giving it away or something like that.
  2. Couldn't agree more with that. I've got a friend who says he supports Liverpool because he had a cleaner that was from there (he has never been to anfield).
  3. Born in Hexham (lived in Wylam), moved down to London at the age of 5. Not really sure what group that puts me in as nobody I know would say I'm a geordie (lost the accent pretty quickly down south) and Wylam isn't exactly Newcastle. I do have a season ticket though having been at Uni in Edinburgh for the last 4 years. I think I might be best described as confused

  6. Swear Michu was offside from that free kick
  7. It is a good article, don't like Fraser much but I would listen to a party that cut taxes for working people as long as they didn't do the same for millionaires. He also fails to draw a distinction between monetary stimulus and fiscal stimulus.
  8. It will be interesting to see how they perform at the next election. Seems like they're going to pinch 2nd place of the tories. More pressure on Cameron, surely at some point the coalition is going to blow especially with the smear on the Lib Dems this week
  9. Just out of interest, have you ever voted or considered voting for UKIP?
  10. he's getting well over excited over Europe
  11. apologies if you've seen it already
  12. Pot noodle and a bottle of whiskey here, what time does the BBC special start?
  13. I'm surrounded my yummy mummy cunts and I love it
  14. Pretty sure they're praying, repeating the word Allah quite a few times. On the other hand they could just be saying 'Oh my god!'
  15. I wasn't aware that your a tory. On another subject I would be interested know where the political stances of toontastic members come from. What are the main influences on your values etc. Could be anything really, religion, political ideology, social background etc
  16. that depends whether you like having roads to drive on, a free healthcare service, a safety net if you lose your job and an overall more cohesive society.
  17. Agreed, a true meritocracy requires a fair amount of redistribution from top to bottom so that everyone has a fair acces to basic civic rights and equal opportunities. Inheritance tax does this pretty well, it takes from those who have done very little to deserve a lump sum of money and if implemented correctly redistributes it to the less well off through something like a child trust fund.
  18. I think this is the first interview since all the new signings coming in. Could be he changed his tune having seen the renewed ambitions of the club and the recent performances.
  19. I think we will sit deep and hit them on the counter similar to last year. I'm not normally a fan of motd analysis but I think Shearer was spot on at the weekend when he talked about us trying to cut out Southampton's midfield and leave us with three on three. Think this will be similar against Swansea, they press high, when we win the ball distribute it to Sissoko, Gouffran and potentially Ben Arfa as quickly as possible and let them do the damage. With HBA 3-1 to us. Without 1-1
