i think we'll win, we've done well with 5 in midfield previously this season

is that not about what you were expecting?

Lovenkrands is fucking woeful out wide man. It's like playing with 10 men. He was an absolute waste of space yesterday. not the best, bit who else is there? ryan taylor i suppose. or chuck another centre midfielder into the formation. Ryan Taylor or Guthrie right with Jonas left are both far better options even if Guthrie is wasted a bit out there. far better? dunno about that like. taylor doesn't offer much beside set pieces. lovenkrands offers little too but at least is one our midfielders that has some pace. duff would have been good in this division. shame we couldn't hang on to him, although not unexpected. for all our midfielders we are lacking creatice options and pace. I like taylor on the right for us this season, he gets the time and number of opportunities he needs to deliver a few cracking balls in a match

perhaps but I think france have the quality to do the business when they really have to, they were finalists last time round remember

sensible president in getting into office shocker
-
well they're right to be fair

if its true then whose fault is that though? the public who demand a quick fix to success from their clubs rather than nurturing local talent? the press? the players themselves? Barcelona last night had 7 players on the pitch who had come up through their academy

is it? I know dm is basically a joke news website but it has a kind bitterness to it that people actually agree with those who have spoken out against moirs idiocy as if they've called a press conference to outline their outrage rather than being paid by whoever for their social commentary

pah milner is all work and no quality and duff is obviously better than zog

Rather than the F1 team who around this time last year were told they didn't exist any more and stayed that way until 3 weeks before the season began. Then no sooner had the season started they made almost 300 of their staff (one third) redundant. They've won 8 of the 16 races so far this season and by doing so have been the first team outside of the F1 'top four' of Ferrari, McLaren, Williams & Benetton/Renault to win the constructor's championship since Lotus did so way back in 1978. If anyone else except Brawn GP wins 'team of the year' it's a fucking joke. yeh but football>f1 in terms of english fans i know F1 is massive but there is a blurred line for people who dont neccesarily know F1 that well, most probably couldnt say whether or not brawn is a british team without prompting I agree that they should win it but between a cracking WCQ campaign and an ashes win i cant see it The award is about the achievement, not the popularity. And IIRC it's not awarded by the public - that's only the main event. Given the amount of 'reddies' the Beeb have thrown at F1 for this season, I doubt popularity would be an issue anyway. I think it's probably more 'nailed on' than when the Rugby team won it back in 2003. ahh of course in which case yeh I reckon you're right

i reckon the football team will get it after the qualifying campaign and the massive lift since the shitness of not qualifying for euro 08

While I agree about those 4, if you went down the route a lot of other countries take and called up the 'foreign' Almunia you'd have an all round better keeper in goal. It's not as if the whole team would be non-uk born, it's just one player so I don't see what the big deal is. Spain have Senna, Croatia have Eduardo, Portugal have/had Deco, none of which have any relations from the country they play for. Yes. Or Cudicini, if he'd play for England Cudicini isnt particularly better than what we have, second choice behind gomez at spurs
