Can't stop looking at the premiership league table
Happy Face replied to Flair's topic in Newcastle Forum
That's what I believe the policy will be, the whole "buy young with resale value" is based upon making sure when you (the club) are ready to move a player on that there is residual value, NOT simply accept the first profit that comes along. I could be proven wrong, but that's my opinion. Obviously, there are other factors, player power and the draw of Champions league clubs, if you end up with someone who is coveted by one of those, when you are not. Of course there's also the silly money dimension a'la the Carroll. I hope so. But not buying it at the moment. As it stands, selling a young player like Enrique to (non-champions league) Liverpool in the most recent window doesn't suggest it's possible, whether or not it's what they'd like to start doing. -
“We are trying to attract new commercial partners." By replacing all the existing ones? Strange.

Let's buy NEWCASTLE UNITED Then we can stand outside and spell "DIE TWAT"

Adding it up, I think that first 11 cost us less than Andy Carroll cost Liverpool -
If Ashley had brought in Soyutherners to do the job people would be raging he's not even used local businesses

Given the turnover of our team it's gonna be very difficult to keep pulling out cheap players that can maintain our current position...or within 6 places of it. Our first team this year is Krul Collo Taylor Simpson Raylor Guti Cabaye Tiote Obertan Best Ba Once Raylor is usurped by Santon I think there's only 3 first team players there who've been at the club 2 years. The fact this team are where it is for what's been spent is remarkable and commendable, for everyone involved, You can't buy 11 new players every 2 years on our budget and maintain it though, so we're gonna have to start keeping hold of our good performers if we're going to be as happy in another 2 years. -
Good shout. Saw the Shining when I was a teenager, alone late at night and it sticks out as the most scared I've been. Our dodgy neighbour had all the 18's and our mam used to go mad that we watched them over there when we were 10 or summat, but even the likes of elm street and Eraserhead then paled in comparison...might have been the crowd viewing compared to the loner viewing though. Also watched Psycho a couple of years back. After midnight in the house on my own. I'd seen the first half hour a few times when i was younger but never got through it. It's proper scary like. At the end, on the stairs, I shit.

But that's not it, HF. The reason many fans slag him off is because he's never made the most of the talent he plainly has, and that's because he's a lazy sack of shit and has always lacked the passion and hunger to succeed. He spends half the match on his arse and the other half with his hands on his hips. He's shown flashes of magic but they've only just been flashes, because he couldn't be bothered to put in the hard work on the pitch. Given how much he fades from games after an hour perhaps he isn't "lazy" but clever aout how he expends his energy. Some people can do all the stamina training in the world and still not have the physical ability to run constantly for 90 minutes. That's something he has to be mindful even more as he reaches the twilight of his career.

I respect Shola and what he's done at Newcastle. Hate hearing other fans slagging him off too. More appearances than anyone else currently at the club. Second top scorer in Europe. Never missed a pen. Whether or not he's the most talented player he's done well for the club with what talent he has. Sammy looks a much better prospect, even if he's made of pipe-cleaners.

Just started using it cos the family all got touchpads. Think it's really good but the novelty of video will wear off. A bit like 3d films. Think it's only any good long term for long distance chat with your kids when you work away...and job interviews when the applicant might have a massive goitre or something.

The first half of todays Guardian piece is poetry. Just saying Cameron's a cunt. But the imagery is marvellous. For example... http://www.guardian....rooker-bbc-cuts
