I think it started with Tobey Macguire doing Spiderman. Prince of Persia did it with the gay cowboy, Terminator and Batman had The Machinist in, the Green Hornet's coming soon and they've got Ryan Reynolds.

Movie night with Happy Face and his grandmother was a huge success. We watched Meet Me In St Louis on Friday night before going to bed at 10.30pm and it didn't pass without comment how much more enjoyable it was than standing in a 5 person deep scrum in a bar.

Can't believe they sold this as the funniest film of the year. The marketing department must love pissing people off. It's the darkest of all Kaufman's screenplays. I think I'll be depressed for a month having watched it this afternoon. Amazing stuff though, can't wait to watch it again. One of those films that'll be even better second time around. Reminded me of the Flaming Lips song - Do You Realize? There are a few laughs in it too. Glad I watched it before Inception which is getting compared to it a bit.

Nanny Mcphee - Loved it. Very pertinent in the present political climate. Meet Me In St Louis - Not much of a story but some classic tunes. Enjoyed it. West Side Story - Disappointing. Was expecting a classic. The gangs are gayer than a John Barrowman appearance on Graham Norton.
