  1. The Return. Or Vozvrashcheniye to give it it's Russian title. 2 teenage brothers have mixed feelings about the return of their dad (who's been gone 12 years) and a trip they take with him. Bloody amazing.
  2. It might have worked in the 1st quarter, but this deep into injury time he's looking desperate. Where? Obviously the perfect world scenario is that innocent people wouldn't be arrested. But they're always going to be. Are you seriously suggesting any police arresting an individual not later charged should be struck off? So are you now saying they shouldn't have been arrested? (and then choked you into semi-unconsciousness, beaten a little for good measure, hog-tied at the wrists, knees and ankles and then carried off and kept you imprisoned without legal recourse for 4 days) I don't know. I'm not armed with all the facts. All I did was contextualise the picture you painted (of whiter than white global warming protesters attacked from behind while singing come-bye-yah during a peaceful process) with the facts I could find...that these women aim to get themselves arrested so they can complain about it and that the protest they were 'supporting' ended in criminal activity.

  4. No. Not sure what that's got to do with the women encouraging people to disrupt police to such an extent arrest is possible....as they freely admit. Not so much Chris the Merciless as Chris the Hypocrite then. Please highlight the contradiction, keeping in mind I've consistently said I don't think anyone not resisting arrest should be subject to any physical harm. Aye in fairness you've only said people should be arrested without cause and then choked you into semi-unconsciousness, beaten a little for good measure, hog-tied at the wrists, knees and ankles and then carried off and kept you imprisoned without legal recourse for 4 days. And then not complain about it of course. A fascist with a heart, you're one of a kinda Chris. I'll repeat..."keeping in mind I've consistently said I don't think anyone not resisting arrest should be subject to any physical harm."
  5. I thought it was Vince for a moment.
  6. I think the biggest problem is people think 1984 is fact rather than fiction. Stupid fuckers complain about being filmed as an erosion of their civil liberties then go on to do 24 hours of media interviews and personal promotion.

  8. Well surely it was all on "unedited" () video tape? What more could you (or Darth Vader, or a judge or the CPS) want? Too far? So if a group of people came up to you and for no reason and choked you into semi-unconsciousness, beat you a little for good measure, hog-tied you at the wrists, knees and ankles and then carried you off and kept you imprisoned for 4 days........ Is it fair to say your only reaction would be to say "By George I think you fellas went a tad too far!" and good naturedly leave it at that? :lol:s No. Not sure what that's got to do with the women encouraging people to disrupt police to such an extent arrest is possible....as they freely admit.
  9. It is quite amazing the hole he has argued himself into in this thread. Which hole is that? Ming the Merciless's lovehole? Fop guess you could explain why you've take up with the ultra-fascist philosophy in thread best. What?

  11. Again is asking for a police officer ID number (when it is not displayed) illegal? Is taking a police officers picture illegal? Is assaulting someone for no reason illegal (whether you're a police officer, a postman or the Prime Minister [not Deputy of course ])? I'm still struggling with the assertion these women didn't break any law on the basis that it wasn't in the video and they weren't charged. As if an abundance of charges aren't dropped every day against guilty people due to lack of evidence. Especially when their own website accepts arrest (not violently of course) as par for the course in what they set out to do. I don't have the information to say either way whether they'd gone that far in this case, but it is their raison d'etre to cause disruption, be arrested and encourage others to do so. They've been going for ages, and are over the moon that this once some coppers went too far on film and they can hammer them for it.
  12. I agree with that. I barely even look at these days. Owen never *wanted* to play for us anyway despite getting paid handsomely. I'm half wondering if the decline in his football ability is actually down to a complete lack of effort or the injuries. Or option C. The creative talent of Butt, Guthrie, Duff and Guttierez.
  13. Stick to copying and pasting your googled opinions for people to ignore. Rattled. Likewise. JOKE!!!111!!!!!!!1 It will be funnier watching Nicos/Chris/Ming/The harbinger of death execute his backtrack. Christ. Copying Fop? How low can you go? ...unless you just forgot to switch over to your alter ego before posting?

  15. I think they're clearly talking about FIT specifically and not police in general at demos. Although I can see the argument for surveillance at certain demonstrations I'm closer to the stance in their statement than the widespread filming that currently takes place. That's what I meant when i said I'm not sure how it would be decided which ones to film and which ones not to. I assume the decision is made based on groups with a history of criminal acts...like Greenpeace demonstartors.
  16. "Who are FIT Watch? Fit Watch are a fluid group of people who have come together to resist and oppose the tactics of the Forward Intelligence Teams (cops who harass protesters). We aim to act in solidarity with each other, supporting campaigns by being at meetings and protests, making it harder for the police to film and gather intelligence. We hope to encourage a culture where their presence is not acceptable and to act when we see people being followed and harassed. We aim to make it harder for them to photograph and intimidate us by getting in the way of their cameras, taking photos and publishing as much information as we can about them on our blog. Some Ideas For Fitwatching FIT Watch can be done by anyone and can be as passive or as confrontational as you wish. Here are some tactics we have found to be effective: 1.Holding large banners in front of photographers. This is particularly effective with double sheets on sticks which can block a camera from a distance. This is the least confrontational way of blocking photography. 2.Taking photos of them. They really don’t like this but it isn’t illegal. With any photos it’s always good to either try and get the cop’s number in the shot, or note it down. 3.Following the FIT. Pick a team and tail them. Turn their tactics onto them – everything time they send a text message look over their shoulder, listen to their phone conversations, look at what they’re writing in their notebooks. 4.Watch out for group huddles, especially with senior officers and go and unobtrusively stand by them. This disrupts their briefings and there’s always the possibility you might learn some useful information. 5.Upload any information gathered about the FIT to www.fitwatch.blogspot.com or email to defycops@yahoo.co.uk 6.Put yourself physically in the way of the camera men by standing constantly in front of the camera and constantly shadow them. This has been the most confrontational tactic used so far and has therefore been the one people have been arrested for. However it has also been possible to do this without arrest, especially if there are larger numbers doings this." http://fitwatch.blogspot.com/
  17. I have no problem with anyone filming the police and keeping them honest. My problem comes with their stated aim of taking action to hinder police surveilence, which I see as an effective tool rather than an infringement of anyone's rights. I don't see how you can distinguish a peaceful protest from one that escalates and say that there should be no police presence at any protests. Back in August this protest was peaceful. This week it's resulted in crime.....could that have been a result of reduced policing after the negative press? Where did I say that? I said the opposite if anything. The bit after that is pure speculation which I can't really comment on either way. Sorry, not you, they, as in the police...or Fitwatch.

  19. Since the Greenpeace protesters have gone on to cause criminal damage they'd probably see it as an effective use of police time. I see no difference with this and filming fans around the stadium as they do when policing the local derby. Well yes, they'd probably argue that, but since it didn't prevent the later criminal damage taking place, what purpose did it actually serve? Anyway, what I'm more on about is the way in which if you do something perfectly legal, which peaceful protest is, you're then seen (in the current climate under 'anti-terror' legislation and so on), as being a potential 'enemy of the state' or whatever, which doesn't really sit well with me. I'm making a general point and haven't been able to watch the video anyway yet. Peaceful protest is legal. Pestering the police who are trying to do a job and taunting them into action is less clear cut. If PC plod was filming the daftees who rush each other up and down Barack Road, I wouldn't start pestering the copper for his number...even though the arseholes aren't actually involved in violence...yet.
  20. I've not defended the video. I've said Fit watch are bunch of fuckwits who I have less sympathy with than any peaceful protesters with a valid cause other than taunting police whenever possible.
