  1. I'm worried about Carr being headhunted by another club actually.
  2. Got a link to these Dutch views? I believe you and everything, just fancy reading what they have to say.
  3. What did Perch actually get the booking for?
  4. Posted that on another forum just now and am getting abused To be honest I recall Williamson pulling Carroll's shirt I think it was in the first few minutes, if the above was a pen then surely the Williamson thing was too.
  5. You Norwegians are too cool for your own good.
  6. Can't agree with him being tripped, it's the shirt-pulling that I didn't notice till just now.
  7. The replacement of Carroll was worth the wait, in hindsight. Well in hindsight it wouldn't have mattered that much either way - Carroll remained injured for a couple of months anyway and we did alright in his absence.
  8. Now I was going to say that that wasn't a pen but looking at the gif again Enrique does have a bit of his shirt. Either way HBA fell over too easily.
  9. It's not like this happens on the rare occasion, either. You aim a headbutt at another player, and you're off. No questions asked. Most players won't stand there and take it, they'll make a meal of it for reasons given. And why not?
  10. The success we've had with our transfer policy since promotion actually makes the idea of selling some of our core players a little easier for me to take. They won't always get it right but it's nice to have trust in Carr etc to be able to adequately replace departing players. I'd be gutted but I wouldn't panic, unless they sell player/s without having enough time to replace them (a la Carroll last January).
  11. Exactly. Amazes me just how skewed in Liverpool's favour this whole 'controversy' is. One was exaggerating an incident. The other was faking an incident. The difference is obviously that one led to a player getting sent off, but he should have been sent off regardless of what Perch did. Wonder how the media etc would have taken it if the ref had bought Carroll's dive and given a pen (and sent Krul off?).
  12. Really needed Spurs to drop points yesterday for us to really be in the mix for fourth. 5 points (plus a superior goal difference, so 6 points really) is a big gap with 7 games to play. I think they've had their dodgy spell and I can't see them or Arsenal dropping many points between now and the end of the season. If you're joint fifth then it's madness not to aim for fourth though, so we'll see what happens. Right now a top 6 spot would be fantastic.
  13. Was the same yesterday too. Genuinely seems to be the biggest crime of the lot going by the likes of 606 etc. Of course he overreacted. But the way I saw it - and I'd rather he hadn't, don't get me wrong - is that players react like that to make sure the ref is aware of the incident. If you just stand there and take it like a man, then perhaps the ref will be a bit lenient towards the attacker.
  14. The thing about Rodgers and (I'd argue) Lambert is that their sides are playing decent football and getting results. I remember Mowbray's West Brom getting loads of plaudits a few years back because they played attractive football. But they didn't get results, and had no plan B. Or if they did have a plan B, they were too reluctant to utilise it in case it sullied their attractive style of football. That baffled me - football is a results business, if you're a club with inferior players then just gets the points first before worrying about how good you look doing it. It's like he'd rather they went down looking like Barca lite than staying up looking like a Big Sam team. Swansea manage to combine the two quite comfortably. Even if a lot of their possession is in their own half. They took an ethos accrued in a lower league and have adapted it to the Prem. They arguably don't need a plan B.
  15. From that article. Is IMC Louise Taylor's pen name? Woeful journalism either way. Ben Arfa signed well before Carroll left and there are 7 games to go, not 6. Football fans might be idiots to some in the media, but this happens up and down the country. It's just part of the game.
  16. Keep forgetting this is on Friday. Probably going to miss it unless I can get out of work.
  17. gif'ed that bad boy. For your pleasure...
  18. I would. They haven't overhauled them as such, more that Man CIty have cracked a few too many times under pressure. This Man Utd really aren't that impressive - I know plenty of Man Utd fans who find to complain about them - yet they're somehow top of the table. It'll be the worst Man Utd side to win the league in many a year, and yet they'll still be good enough to win it.
