With that said, reading more of his posts, he sounds more surprised than he should be. He's been in the game long enough to know negative receptions by crowds aren't a rarity.

I do think it was over the top but I'd expect it at most clubs. I don't think he truly did anything against us, but he probably didn't really do enough for us (both in terms of off the pitch actions and the amount of games played, which wasn't his fault to be fair). For the money that was spent on him he should have done more but I don't agree with vilifying someone like that unless they specifically set out to hurt the club.

With Nolan, Ben Arfa and (yes) Carroll - as well as a couple more of those who played being match fit - we could have won that. As such we deserve credit for playing well with a weakened squad. Bit too cautious in the second half but that did at least mean we didn't leave ourselves too open, as Man Utd can be devastating on the break if they get some space. We properly frustrated them and a draw was the right result.

Jesus wept, calm down. I wasn't saying that I think we're not safe. In answer to the question I posed when I posted this thread, I was saying that 40 points might not be enough, for us, or any team for that matter. There is no chance of us remaining on 40 points anyway. I can see the clubs below us getting close to the 40 point barrier too but we'll definitely pick up points between now and the end of the season so it almost certainly won't matter.
