I'm not writing off the rest of this season just yet, as easy it would be to do so. -

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11787/9147994/neil-lennon-proud-to-break-92-year-old-record-in-win-over-st-mirren Not sure what he's so proud of. If I was employed by Celtic I'd struggle to take pride in achieving anything in the SPL. It's a damning indictment on the state of that league that Celtic can walk it with so ridiculous ease.

Thanks, I've been holding out for a review of the first five minutes.

Because Newcastle United is bigger than Mike Ashley. I'm a hypocrite because I live too far away to get to many matches, but I don't think it's fair to look down on other supporters who choose to go to support the team (not the club). -

You say this every time we face a better club and it never seems to happen. Annoyingly we seem to play better when we're the underdog. -

What's worse/terrifying is that I'd wager we'll be Colo and Remy-less come 2014-2015, amongst others. Squad will need a major overhaul (no guarantee we'll decide to buy De Jong either), and I really have no faith in the club to deliver. We can scout and identify well, don't get me wrong. But Kinnear getting them over the line? Nah. -

We weren't horrible to look at versus Norwich, and yeah, the likes of Anita like to keep the ball on the deck. I'd like to think we'll get Remy back and avoid hoofing the ball, but I've got a horrible feeling Pardew still stick Remy to the left of De Jong and ask the players to just hoof it towards the two of them (Remy is tall too, after all, but he's not the sort of forward who'll get much out of air balls). -

Been thinking this - seem to shoot from range more than we used and it's infuriating. 1, it's hard to score from range. 2, most of our lot aren't good at shooting from range. 3, it just gives possession back to the opponent. 4, it wastes an opportunity to get into a more fruitful attacking position. edit; I'd like to think the clever fans shouting "shoot!" don't actually convince our players to do so, unless it actually makes sense to (nothing else on, good position etc - Sissoko's goal versus WBA for example). -

Pretty sure we'd have to lose almost all of our remaining games and for the bottom sides to go on a run for us to not be safe. -

Southampton now just 2 points behind us, found a bit of form, and have a balanced squad at the moment even with a couple of injuries. Might have a serious task holding on to top spot in your league, Alan. -

If you define "old" as someone who is three and a bit years your senior, then yes. -

I really do think they're happy with midtable. They know we're never going to get in the CL without serious investment, and they don't want to get into the Europa League. -
Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team

No doubt he's implying we'll continue playing turgid, route one, off the deck football again rather than the semi-attractive passing football of the last few months. On the other hand, we don't have Cabaye any more. Anita is the next best thing but can he really fulfill that role well enough that it dictates how the whole team plays?- 10610 replies

Nah, the players deserve a lot of criticism too.
