Pretty sure it was a goal till the City players started complaining. Livid here.

We're playing Man City, a club who have bought their way into incredible quality. We won't get many goal-scoring opportunities and when we finally get one, to be robbed of it is just beyond a joke. We need things to go our way. I'm not talking about luck. If we'd scored no-one would be complaining about us being lucky. Absolutely no way were any of the offside players interfering with play. In no way was Hart's view blocked.

Not a fan of this ref.

Atletico - Barca on now. What a game were in for. Atletico started well.

New manager has got them on a good run.

Got a horrible feeling Boro are going to go up this season. Such a nothing club that added little to the Premier League.

Another poor day of football from our perspective. Sounds like Spurs were woeful for most of that match too, typical.

Yeah. Whenever I get beaten, I almost never feel like I've been outplayed. I can't seem to lose by more than one goal, and if I'm beaten by 2 he's scored another in injury time or something.

Monaco were really disappointing. Cabella looked decent: worked fairly hard, pacey, skillful, and best of all a definite team player.

Because I'm this forum's bitch.

Must be pretty boring if you've got your phone out in the middle of the cinema to tell us the above. -

Sidney Sam off to Schalke in the summer. Draxler off then, surely? -
They do have a pretty horrendous injury situation, to be fair.

Thought it was less than that, even with Europa League goals included. He's come into a bit of consistent form recently like I said, but aside from that has seemed pretty inconsistent (largely because of the their system, injuries etc, like Jonny said). I don't doubt he's a good player, he's on his way to proving himself to be a top level striker, just perhaps not there yet.

Wonder if his mates down the pub hear about it off him too.

I don't want to be that guy who patronises and suggests we all wait till the end of the window before judging the club (and SSN), but I am going to be that guy who patronises and suggests we all wait till the end of the window before judging the club (and SSN) safety

To be fair he's been pretty indifferent since he's joined them. Missed a few games, to be fair. Scored 3-4 recently so he's getting better but still got a lot to prove (doing well in the Eredivisie doesn't mean a lot these days sadly).

I imagine Stevie T has already got his agent on the lookout for future acting/modeling work, should his football career go south any time soon.

@@Monkeys Fist Where's the photo (in finest CT style)?

They're already on a good cup run in the League Cup. Doesn't seem to have done their league form much favours.
-
Celtic ended up winning 4-0. Such a pointless league. I don't know why their players bother even celebrating goals any more. Where's the sense of pride in winning a league like they will year after year (even when Rangers make it back)? They've got nothing going for them but Champions League football, and I imagine that and the promise of regular first team football is about all they can offer new players (none of whom are anything special).
-
Yes, it's a pretty sad reality if you ask me. But that's modern day football for you. Premier League football is worth so much money nowadays, and the Championship to its credit is a very competitive league that few sides will bounce back up from with minimal effort.

Abysmal idea. Sorry. There's very few chances for clubs to give their younger/reserve players a decent run-out outside of an injury crisis - or a cup game. Makes perfect sense to give them a game alongside their more experienced colleagues against weaker opposition.
