  1. I did that because it takes 20 seconds to work out, even if I was very bored I wouldn’t arse myself to split it into league and cup because I’d have to go through the results myself. It also takes 20 seconds to work out what games Anelka won for Bolton. Football doesn't work like that, but I thought it might be interesting to see, seeing as I believe Michael Owen would be worth more poionts to any team than Anelka. It took me no time at all to think 42 points, 13th place.
  2. Man Flu. Best get your affairs in order. been sent home from work, I feel like shit, but at least this way I don't have people doubting the veractity of my claims. Puff.
  3. I don't like seeing my money wasted on paying off a year of his contract and 3 years of Allardyces when I think they are about evenly matched. It's not that I like Roeder any more, I've said if Allardyce had replaced Souness and the debate was now "Shall we get Roeder?" I'd be saying no to that too. If either moves costs us nothing I'll be less against it, but still think it's optimistic to see him finish much higher than Roeder did last season. How the fuck can you say that Slug Boy & Sam are evenly matched? Bolton are 7th we are 13th. We have "better" individual players but Slug Boy hasnt got the working as a team, he hasnt got the defence communicating, he hasnt got a plan B, or even a plan fucking A. We were in the driving seat for the match as AZ and I know what a team with Big Sam would have done in that situation!! But Slug boy went into it in his own fucked up way and we got SHAFTED!! So how the fuck are we evenly matched? Yes we have had bad injuries but slug boy fails to work with the tools he has because he is a mong! I never said we're evenly matched with Bolton. I said Roeder is evenly matched with Allardyce. It's not a matter of wrong or right, it's just an opinion that Allardyce could have done no better this season with the players Roeder had. He may have performed better in the transfer window, but we'll have to see who he brings in over summer to judge that better. I've said it elsewhere, if Allardyce didn't have Anelka this year (like we never had Owen + many others) they'd currently be on 41 points. You've actually been sad enough to work out where they'd be without his goals? Jesus wept. Football doesn't work like that btw. ....and where would we have been without Martins (no first touch) goals. What if Bolton had Martins and we had Anelka? What if they had Given and we had Jaaskelainen?

  5. SSH also loves his club - that much is apparant. But before a top flight manager can be appointed, we have to become an attractive proposition to him. anyway - i said my bit earlier. Settling for Fat Sam is not loving your club Who do you realistically think we could get? You're not happy with Roeder, but you haven't suggested any positive change as far as I am aware.
  6. You must be off your tits if you think Allardyce is the next Robbie Williams. I think he's an improvement and our best, realistic option. To stick with Roeder would be foolish indeed, for ST renewals alone. Allerdyce will save this club money in the short and long term imo.
  7. HF is off his tits on ecstacy as he seems happy watching any old shit tttt.
  8. Btw, Is SSH being serious or just on a wind up nowadays?
  9. Whatchoo talkin' about Willis?
  10. Yes, Kojak. Alex on Saturday.
  11. Aye well 10th isn't shooting for the stars, but on the other hand how many people would be happy if we came 10th next year I don't know. It wasn't so much the scenario of winning no points at all, but the fear of other teams at the bottom collecting more points. If we had lost to Sheffield and Charlton have had a better run (not conceding against Everton in the last minute for example) we would be in deep shit right now. Relegation was an unlikely scenario, but it wasn't an impossible scenario. You can try to blandish it as much as you want. No we needed to basically pick up 0 points or for every team below us to win most of their game (against some tough opposition at that). relegation was an very unlikely scenario, yes, but we weren't in a relegation fight per se, nor at the brink of relegation, and you can't twist it to pretend we were. Fop apparently, to match his personality. Aye I would, to match my keen interest in facts and understanding what is actually occurring, as oppose to what goes down well around here (hysterics and bile) You'd get your facts from an autobiography? Righto. Fop, if we'd lost against Sheffield United, we'd be on 39 points, and in 15th place. I always maintained that was the crucial match. Now, if we failed to pick up a point against Chelsea and Arsenal as well, we might well have been relegated. Of course none of this happened, but given we have only won 4 games away, and have not scored at home since February, it was hardly an impossibility, especially given Roeder's track record in relegation battles. For the record, I don't recall anyone saying we were definitely going to get relegated, or any hysteria whatsoever. It was raised as a possibility, and given what has happened, I think that was fair enough.
  12. Fop apparently, to match his personality.
  13. Remind me then, I can't recall your answer. For me, I'd be wanting a top half finish, but more importantly, an improvement in the way we are organized and playing football. Based on a modestly good CV, I'd give him at least 2 years to show some improvement. Edit: I think we'll come about 8th in the first year.
  14. Exactly, they are arbritrarily selecting which games to judge him on. It's his performance over the whole season, or even the last decade, that is relevant. They're a couple of cock knockers at the minute.
  15. The fact he's resigned and kept his mouth shut shows that How? What did you expect him to say? He hardly had cause for complaint when he was sacked. Well he could do TV interviews and then re-write a book like Robson did (and understandably so). Like anyone would read a book by Roeder. Could be a cure for insomnia I suppose. Depends on what he talked about, Robson's was very interesting, both because he's had an interesting life and in the way it lifted the lid on what goes on at Newcastle. I'd be very interested to see how much control Roeder (rather than FFS) had over transfers for example. He could also write about about how he has taken two clubs to relegation and two others to the brink of relegation. All written in the third person, of course. Stop being hysterical, Newcastle wasn't brought the the brink of relegation this season (as much as there were plenty of people running around with their pants on their head screaming about it not so long ago). What we suffered this season comes from FFS behaviour since later in the Robson era and our record injury list this year (probably made worse by trying to compete in europe at the same time) more than Roeder. Roeder for his managerial short comings, is more scapegoat for other issues than anything else (which is why I suspect the same old hate roundabout will be powering up next season for whomever does take the job). Seven points away from a relegation place with one match to go. Woopiedoopiedooo. Roeder wasn't a scapegoat for anything. He was a victim of his tactical and managing incompetence. 7 points in this seasons league means a lot more than it often does. But again Allardyce or anyone wouldn't have had Newcastle rampaging up the table with the current squad and this seasons injury list. And just look at how european football has tended to affect Bolton domestically. That's not to say a better manager wouldn't have got us a few places higher, but europe? Unlikely. And the brink of relegation stuff is still pure hysterics just as it was a few weeks ago here (it relied on us not picking up a point in 10 matches ). FFS, how many points have we taken in the last 10 matches? We haven't even scored at home since February! Two reversals would have been enough to get us relegated, and I can think of more than two matches we were lucky to win. Teams have been relegated before with our points total as it stands now, so I hardly thnk I am exagerating or being hysterical. The only thing Shepherd is at fault with (although I admit it is a big thing) is appointing a manager as incompetent as Roeder. I've asked you before but you've never answered, can you actually think of a worse premiership manager than Roeder? I can't, his record is second to none in the shit stakes.

  17. I'm unsure why they give you boosters once you have a wound that could be infected by tetanus, because it's too late by then. If you've been immunized before, you'll be fine. If not, I'd write a will.

  20. I dont think anyone is really dancing in the streets on this and yes its just another chapter in the NUFC saga however its the passing of (yet another) bad period. I am happy because for once Fat Boy has managed to do a sacking at the right time and (appears) to have a replacement lined up rather than letting Roedent spend 20million before sacking him and taking anyone available 5 weeks into the season. So Fred is given credit for hiring Glen for two years and firing him after one? On the justification that he won't waste £20m? What about the fact we now have a squad of players assembled under 3 managers, some of which most probably won't suit the requirements or style of the next manager, requiring more money to be spent anyway? And that includes the presumption that this time Fred appoints someone who won't waste £20m on crap Who's giving Shepherd credit? etc
  21. Can't be bothered I'm afraid, but the general feeling I get is people are relieved, not ecstatic.
  22. By giving us our worst ever Premiership season? By giving us our worst home run in nearly 60 years? On what evidence is he a top man by the way? Jesus Christ man, Gol. You know what she means. He took us to 7th that season. Fair play to him. He seems like a very nice bloke, hence the 'top man' bit. I'm fucking over the moon at the minute. So happy when I found out he'd went Thanks skol, im sure Gol knew what I meant too, but he seems to like nit picking anything I ever say! You'd have to be from another planet not to be able to work out that Glenn is a really decent bloke. I wish him well. What are you basing this "decent bloke" stuff on? Have you ever met him, are you mates? For the record, I have never met him, but I do know some people that have, and allegedly the guy's a complete cock. I've heard the exact opposite to you from people who've apparently met him too. Probably best not to assume anything then. I'll go on what he's said in the media, and maintain my thinking the guy is a dickhead. I have no sympathy whatsoever for the fool. Ok, so YOU'RE allowed to have an opinion on him from what you've seen in the media, but Toonraider isn't.... It's the way it's being stated as fact by many on here (not just her) that I find irritating. I don't particularly have an opinion one way or another, but he's done nothing to convince me that he's a "top bloke". Anyway, I'm just glad he's gone. Another myth that's worth dispelling is what a great player he was here too, he was never anything other than mediocre, and if memory serves correctly, he didn't leave us on the best terms then either.
