  1. I can't see any issues at all with this policy, none whatsoever. I think as has been said, the 1992 committee can change the rules for another VONC at will, because like everything else in politics in this country nothing is writtenin stone and everything is open to abuse. But honestly man, this particular bribe is bat shit even by Johnson's standards.
  2. The "let the bodies pile high" quote was not denied from memory. That Led by Donkeys tweet on the lies of Johnson before he became PM should be mandatory viewing. The fact he has had 5 children to woman he was not married to, whilst married to someone else, was amazing. I don't know why that simple fact doesn't resonate a bit more. If you betray your spouse like this, the worst way possible, how the fuck can anyone trust you. The comments from his school days, his Oxford Bullingdon days, twice sacked for lying, conspiracy to assault a person, domestic abuse against Carrie resulting in a police call out, rcist and xenophobic comments in the media, Accruri, et fucking cetera. It's literally mind boggling to me that anyone can think he's not a complete psychopathic cunt.
  3. I said a while ago (I know many others have made the same point) that it's not the red wall that Johnson should fear losing, it's the shires and the blue wall. I'm beginning to think @Gemmill may have been right about something, for once.
  4. Russia is expected to suffer next year due to sanction imposed by the West. Meanwhile we fair second worst in the G20 thanks to sanctions we put on ourselves. And the tory propaganda machine rolls on.
  5. I listen to it daily at this time. I need some ambient noise to work. It's like this every day and I still do it. But aye, that nonce really pissed me off. Proper dick head. Told a woman who had lost a loved one in the pandemic (and couldn't see them) to move on.
  6. A lot of the rebels are massive Brexiter cunts, whatever Rees-Mogg says. And there will be less than a handful willing to lose the whip. And this is how it will play for the near future.
  7. This is anything but stealthy. It will be deliberately noisy. Any tory not backing this (illegal) bill will be branded a rebel and have the whip removed. Mind, thinking about it, if the rebels organised themselves, they could vote against and have the whip taken away from all of them. Then Johnson would have a minority and the government would fall. They won't though, they will toe the line and UK becomes an international pariah.
  8. You missed out him being a fat mess.
  9. Some of the vox pops on yesterday's news were staggering. Nearly all Johnson appeasers repeating his lies about Brexit, covid, Ukraine, and the economy on a loop. My favourite was this old biddy who said he had invented the vaccine.
  10. Fuck me, just found this from that tweet. I literally don't understand how anybody could vote for these cunts. I mean their demographic is heavily skewed towards the elderly, what are they getting from this shitshow of a government?
  11. As I said yesterday, this would normally be correct. But this is not a normal government or conservative party. Problem is, we don't have a written constitution and all the codes are advisory, not mandatory. They weren't designed to handle a psychopath with dictatorial tendencies like Johnson. This doesn't mean he will have some kind of coup btw, just that I think he will be around for longer than you think, and every day tyhis cunt is in power he degrades parliament and the UK.
  12. Aye, talk about a poisoned chalice. You'd have to be incredibly stupid to take this on. Dorries for PM anybody?
  13. I've been listening to R5 this morning as my background noise. Lots of tory rebels interviewed, all toeing the line now (mandate, democracy, blah blah). There isn't the numbers or mechanism to take him out imo. Maybe I'm wrong, I certainly hope so, guess I'll find out in 2 weeks if you're right, like you were about Everton.
  14. Johnson's primary aim now he says is to cut back on public services. After more than a decade of austerity. Red meat foe What way is that then? He's safe for a year (ignore Bridgen, who's a cunt btw). He'll go on appeasing all sides of his party by promising undeliverable populist policies and appeasing the right wing. For instance today he's stated his first aim is to reduce the size of government (aka public services). Red meat to the like of Bridgen. When the rebels realise their existential threat is in fact the opposition parties, they'll toe the line as there really isn't any other option. I've been predicting Johnson'd demise for years now. I was wrong. I unbderestimated his authoritarian dictatorial tendencies.
  15. Hardly surprising. He purged the parliamentary party of nearly all its talent and conviction. Even got rid of Winston Churchill's grandchild. So what you're left with is a collection of hugely untalented and incompetent sycophants. Whereas, imo, the shadow cabinet has some really promising individuals. I mean, when you've Nadine fucking Dorries as culture secretray you're trolling the country. So even if you get rid of Johnson, there's nobody left fit for government and we've got to endure two more years of this. As I said yesterday, I'm genuinely afraid of what can happen in those two years. I expect more extreme populist policies and increasing power grab to the executive. Yesterday was a pivotal moment for the country, celebrating it feels a bit to me like the 2017 election where Corbyn did better than expected but still lost. Johnson is stil there. He isn't going anywhere under any circumstances imo. Edit: just to add, don't forget, the rebels are not decent politicians either. In general they voted in either naked self-interest because they were worried they were going to lose their seats, or because they are fucking headbangers and Johnson isn't right wing enough for them.
  16. No, it's at least a year for him. But yeah, I hope you're right. In normal times you would be, but....
  17. Most of the aren't though. They're Boris Johnson fanatics. I agree the number of rebels is encouraging but I bet you the large majority fall back in line, especially the anonymous ones.
  18. He'll last til the GE. He's completely fucked the country on the last 2 years, now he's got another 2 to finish the job. Expect further attacks on the media, judiciary, and democratic institutions. Expect a massive drop in standard of living and quality of life. Expect a phoney war with the EU and a real one in NI. I mean yeah, it's about a good of an outcome that you could hope for but this twat won't leave Downing Street without losing his finger nails. He'll subvert democracy itself to stay there. We live in dark days.
  19. Terrible as this result is for Johnson, I worry it's worse for the country. How much damage he can inflict on this country and its institutions in the next 2 years is frankly terrifying. Not a day for celebrations.
  20. I don't recall Hunt saying we should have had a Chinese style lock down? What he did say, at the time, was that we should have locked down musch sooner. Had we done that, thousands of lives would have been saved and the economic impact lessened. I agreed with him at the time, it's early on in the covid thread. As for Dorries criticising anyone for lack of planning (although she's right), howay man. Removing pandemic planning was tories being tories. She couldn't plan a pissup in a brewery.
  21. Oh come on. It was average at best. But better than what I'm watching right now. The most extraordinary piece of flag shagging I've ever witnessed outside Russia and the US. This is proper arse to mouth flag shagging. At the moment strangely with Diana Ross as centre piece.
  22. Back from Keswick. Parking for 5 hours in a fucking municipal car park was £8.20. Anyway, half the food and drink outlets were shut. A few years back more than half the staff were European. They've all fucked off now. Also haven't heard any European accents from tourists. So back in Glen Ridding, there is I think a Serbian bar maid. She's rough as fuck. Just had a monty python type argument about a drinks order. Ffs I know what I wanted and ordered. But rather than accept she's made an honest mistake, she's blew a gasket and got the manager called out for fuck all. She got bollocked and I got complementary drinks. Realise I'm sounding like Hyacinth Bucket now but honestly. Holidays here are now stressful. At least the mountains are eternal, relatively speaking.
  23. That's shit mate, I feel your pain. I'll not lie, when/if my mum passes ill probably have enough funds to retire or at least go part time. Horrendous even thinking about it though. I miss my Dad more than I thought was possible, every day its like a knife in me. Oh well. Off to Keswick now. Another tenner just to get parked if I can find a space. Fancy swimming but the council have permanently shut the pool because of lack of funds.
  24. I honestly don't understand how some people can afford to live any kind of life at all. I've basically had to leave the NHS as I couldn't take the pay cuts any more. 12 years real term cuts year after year. I am now paid 30% more than I was this time last year. But I'm taxed to death and with inflation i have less disposable income than I had previously. As a family we're allegedly in the top 5% percentile in the country but now I can't really afford a week in a lodge in the lakes. I've shit loads of equity tied up in the house but what use is that? This winter is going to literally kill a lot of people.
  25. I'm in the lakes this week, Patterdale where I've been going for thr last 30 years. This might be my last year. Here are some examples on what I've spent. £14 quid for a bus fare to travel approximately 2 miles. £24 quid for 4 sausage rolls and soft drinks at a NT shop at Aira force. £24 quid for a single burger which was rank at a hotel. £28 quid for 2.soft drinks, a small glass of wine, and a Peroni at a hotel. And the most pathetic chocolate brownies ever for the kids. The lodge I'm staying at was £540 for a week. Next year they've put the price up to £860 for the same week. And apart from the exorbitant prices, most places are shut at night anyway because of staff shortages, which probably contributes to the inflation in the places that are open. Fuck this rip off country, I'm going abroad from now on. Yesterday was a write off anyway as it pissed down all day. Has anybody really not noticed yet how shit life is becoming under the tories?
