  1. Really? Guess Braverman might be the totem to the ERG but if this is true it doesn't bide well for the government imo. I mean it's a problem when people piss outside onto your tent, but she is going to shit inside it.
  2. Well fair enough I guess, we're not really disagreeing, just expressing things differently. I really think you deserve to take my board crown as the glass half full person on here rather than me, it's a mantle I have long wanted to lose having battled with my own personal depression problems! For the record, I do agree the tories have gone down the best road available to themselves here. I do agree we are getting more austerity, and that Labour will not even reverse this. I agree that Starmer is not interested in constitutional change, and therefore frankly I am not arsed in helping out with the party on a personal level like I have in the past (having 2 kids, an ill mother, and full time job not helping there either). I do agree the UK is in a shit place and I don't see anyway out in the short or medium term. But if I've learned anyhting, there is no point in beating yoursef up about things you can't change. Look after yourself mate.
  3. Fairly sure Frank Marcois said something along the line that the ERG will "try" to get behind and support Sunak. Very magnaminous of him.
  4. In my opinion you've designed yourself a narrative where Sunak is going to unite the tory party and turn the economy around enough to win the next general election. You seem to be basing this on evidence as flimsy as a Johnson tweet, otherwise why post it? Now Sunak will undoubtedly get a bounce, probably quite a big one, and I think that will reaffirm things to you. But this description of events to come is really incredibly unlikely. I was listening to a pollster yesterday on the News Agents (cheers for that one btw @Gemmill) who put a tory victory at less than 1%, not even worth considering. That's if history is anything to go by anyway. For your own sake, at least look at things objectively as they really are rather than imagine the worst possible scenarios all the time. Things are shit enough as they are, don't make them worse. The only person I have ever put on ignore was the quiff btw, so don't be silly.
  5. Of course it does. They're all best mates now, all the antipathy and resentment they feel for each other, all the radically different policy directions they believe in, have gone. Labour are doomed. Sorry for the sarcastic response but I'm not sure what you expect from seemingly taking a Boris Johnson tweet at face value?
  6. I think we just need to say ta-tas* to this this thread. * A euphemism so oblique I am going to have share its definition.
  7. You missed "Now perform a U turn. Again".
  8. Tories now saying that Sunak has the experience and knowledge for the job. Literally nobody had heard of this fucker 3 years ago before he was appointed as Johnson's economic sock puppet, and since he was chancellor for the bulk of this time and the economy is now fucked I'm not optimistic in these skills or abiities.
  9. As if. I've completely mammarised that photo.
  10. Can't wait for the one on one debates with Starmer.
  11. Truss is 47. You were 47 when you were 30 man.
  12. Rhymes with his chancellor's name, is what at least 70% of people would have said.
  13. Well that's clearly been censored.
  14. Yeah, but rather than just rip off the country for piss in the pot change like £30k for wall paper, he'll rip it off for billions instead. Erm... It appears there was a flaw to my initial assertion.
  15. No idea, is this a ploy to make him look normal when they're out as a couple? Nothing to do with the vast fortunes he's inheriting from her family? Smart, shows he is PM material.
  16. Unless anyone knows of any other asian billionaire midgets of course.
  17. I can't be arsed but can someone draw me a three circled Venn DIagram with the domains of Asian, Billionaire, and Midget, showing Sunak is the only person in the middle?
  18. The fucking "ERG" man, and their "Star Chamber". The "Spartans". The "CRG". Absolute bunch of bellwhiffs. I doubt Douglas Adams could have imagined such a bunch of morons in his wildest dreams. ANd yet they've been pulling the strings of power for more than a decade.
  19. Just another useless tosser driven by ego, not the good of her country or even her party.
  20. Richy Sunak. His out-of-touchness is going to be a problem for him, doubtless. Ironically though it could be a good thing, making him less susceptible to corruption for personal gain. I can't see anyway of the tories spinning that though because of what it implies.
  21. Sunak has >50% of nominations already. Mordaunt continuing is a big mistake for the tories imo.
  22. I think I may open a computer keyboard repair shop in the Sunderland area.
