I wasn't really that worried about going down before but we'd be knacked without Ba's goals this season so it doesn't augur well for the rest of the season. I suppose we could just sack Pardew though as that would solve everything and get us playing well.

I didn't say the move was purely down to the club's lack of ambition. I just cited it since it makes the move absolutely the correct thing to do from the player's point of view. But to answer your question, probably not but possibly. Who knows? It certainly wouldn't have harmed our chances of hanging onto Ba if we'd got Douglas and Debuchy in though. I could imagine Ba and one or two others who did so well last year being pissed off about certain areas of the team not being strengthened though. Especially when it was so obvious. We've needed a new centre-back for about four transfer windows now, for example.

Put it this way, the club's lack of ambition makes it an absolute no-brainer.

As much as I hope his knee goes again when he inevitably moves, I don't blame Ba one bit. We're going nowhere fast and he has the chance to join a club who'll genuinely challenge for honours. It's absolutely the right thing for him to do at this stage in his career and the summer gone will have told him all he needs to know about this club's ambition, or lack of it. And before anyone asks, I don't expect us to compete with the likes of Chelsea but we certainly could've and should've strengthened more in the last window. Happy New Year © Leazes.
  5. He worked with Sturridge at Chelsea as well I think.
  6. He was at Swansea City with Rogers. For someone who thinks he's clever, Rogers seems incapable of bringing in people he hasn't worked with before.
  7. Aye, I think that'll be his problem here like. Unless we sell HBA

Heard the Central Station story well before it appeared in the Chronic but again, I've no idea of its veracity. Maybe a local 'face' from that era could let us know if it's true. Y'kna, someone like CT.
  9. Thought that was the best performance from him in the Premier League but he sort of summed up the midfield / team in general, i.e. good going forward, invisible in defence and had hoyed the towel in by the end. I appreciate defending isn't his strong point like.
  10. Went to Oz in 2003 and I knew you lot a while before that .
  11. You took the piss out of me in this very thread for saying I liked a Dirty Martini iirc But aye, Renton, he's right. There's loads of cocktails out there to suit every taste. The sickly, sweet variety, (the sort of things women / CT tend to like) are a relatively new invention. The classic ones like Old Fashioned, Martini, Sidecar etc. tend to be dry or sour and very alcoholic. And lets be honest here, everyone knows I have impeccable taste.
  12. Maybe they're hoping to sell a few papers on the back of this speculation as well.
  13. Don't think they sell it at the Sainsbury's in Heaton like (which is a big store).
  14. Listen to Mr. Working Class there.

Nah. Renton loves Liverpool. It's fair comment as well. Solsjkaer (or however the fuck you spell it) is still a cunt though.
  16. Thompers was always trying to get Leazes banned iirc. Licks his hoop now on Twitter. What a wanker.
  17. True communist. Him and Jimmy Sommerville both. Fucking mint comb-over though tbf.
  18. Thompers  Now I know you're on the wind-up.
  19. Really sorry to hear that mate but you're right, he would've appreciated the tribute. I know what it's like to see a relative suffer and deteriorate with cancer
