I was going to say similar and I think you're right re: MOTD in general. I think Shearer plays it safe a lot of the time but I'd agree with Chez re: most of those on Sky (and in the media in general). As for that interview, no great insight but he was just answering questions and you wouldn't expect him to know what was going on anyway. At least he's in our corner and uses his position to have a pop at the owner.

Andy Thorn and Beasant were just there that one season. We got relegated. Beasant was shit but Thorn was alreet I thought. Bit of dirty centre-half. Went to Palace after that and did well. Keegan was looking at Salako around the time we signed Ginola. We went in for Ginola then the deal stalled over wages etc. We looked at Salako as an alternative to play wide-left but the deal with Ginola happened anyway. Jeff Thomas played in that Palace side too.

There was a collection of funny dating ads from Mixmag ages ago. Can't remember them all but a good one was along the lines of: M seeking F Are you the pierced and tattooed? Into direct action and Marxist? Do you wear combats and DMs? Well fuck off, I want a thick as fuck 18 year old blonde with massive tits.

Self-determination whereby you would've hoped to be allowed to keep on using the pound.

That's mint

Rob doesn't post a lot but, when he does, he rarely fails to disappoint.

I think that's fairly common but more noticeable by it being a (nearly) full moon. It's sometimes orange looking and it's the same effect as red sunrise / sunset. Particles in the atmosphere cut out shorter frequency waves of light (blue) more than longer waves of light (i.e. red). When the Sun / Moon is rising / setting, its light has to pass through more atmosphere to reach you, so the effect is accentuated.

Great piece that.

Aye, same era. Both played in that Cup Final era side (Wright wasn't fully fit for the final and came on as sub and scored a couple iirc). They had a canny side back then. Andy Thorn played for them who you may remember (we signed him from Wimbledon the same time we signed Beasant I think).

We still talking about the Moon here or what?

Love the wry smile and wink from the one taking it from behind.

That's probably what Carver said to Charnley when he 'threw his hat into the ring'.

Aye, you'd want the dosage to be pretty precise for that shit.

I'm sure all the people whose marriages it ended remember it

I think they said they're Estonian.

Just kidding. Not my cup of char but I can see how it could be handy. I don't get why so many people are obsessed with the pathetic online popularity contest side of it though. Wor lass keeps getting friend invites from people she went to the same school as but didn't know, speak to or, in some cases, actively disliked. That side of it is just a bit weird and needy

Probably a wind up like.

Saw him pull out of loads of 50-50s at home too. Still loved him though. Remember (under Roeder I think) when he played right back a few times. Had a very good game there against C. Ronaldo I seem to remember. Struggled physically at times (had a mare in the Uefa Cup against a German side who played 3 up top where he ended up marking a tall left-winger) but his composure and position were absolutely fantastic. @@ewerk

Nobby was the archetypal 'homer'. Watch how you say that though.

Haddaway and shite, man. He'd much rather be playing in the Premier League but he blew it.Twice.

Wor lass occasionally uses it. You get people on there spilling the beans about stuff like Cadbury's Creme Eggs now being on sale in the supermarkets. You know, the sort of esoteric knowledge only available to people who go into supermarkets. As you can probably guess, I think it's great ©

Hope you gave it to everyone in the government, or at least the ones you met.

Beautiful Island like. Only been the once but hired a car and went to the Troodos Mountains.
