If it's not about money he'll no doubt move on again once he's not getting a game. Because, good player though he is, he's a stop-gap signing for Chelsea.
-
I don't think it's a factor like (or the Bobby Moore comment for that matter). The 8 year contract isn't really an 8 year contract anyway either. The only significance of the 8 years was to get more compensation if a top side came in for Pardew. So, given that doesn't seem very likely, it's effectively a 2 year rolling deal (i.e. his payoff is 2 years or £1m).
-
Is he? I don't know tbh. But just to pass on my goodwill, I hope they do well at the ACN this January.
-
I don't think he's played well since Pardew likened him to Bobby Moore.
-
Surely if he bends over he doesn't need the 'O' in biro.
-
It's not a crime. It's a bit beyond my ken though tbh. I.e. supporting a player rather than a team. You should have a look on http://z3.invisionfree.com/NUFCforum/index.php?act=idx and have a bit crack on with SingaporeToon etc.

Funnily enough I was thinking about watching Bad Boy Bubby again too after watching Chopper. Classic I haven't seen that Bryan Brown film although I recently thought of The Shiralee (it was a two-part TV with Brown in it, along with the bloke who played Alf Stewart) which I saw on telly over here about 20-25 years ago. No idea why it sprang to mind like but I looked it up and the book looks decent too going off reviews etc. No doubt you'll be familiar with it.

It's usually around the 3rd Jan (although it changes slightly due to precession). This year it's the 2nd. Was January 1st / New Year's Day deliberately set as being on or about the Earth's perihelion though? Genuine question as I don't know the answer and have never really thought about it before. I got an Astronomy book for Xmas as it happens. There's genuinely a chapter on 'Observing Uranus'. Little things....

Not a million miles from the truth I'd wager.

Re-watched 'Chopper' over the hols. What a great film. Or movie, if you prefer.

My biggest worry concerning Santon of late is that he looks like he couldn't give a fuck a lot of the time.
-
I think he's trying to do too much with the players missing and performances of the team etc. but he's also out of form and may well have had his head turned / not got the move he expected or hoped for. I still think he just needs to get back to sitting in front of the back four. Preferably in a midfield 3 with Cabaye and Anita providing the creativity / getting forward more.

What role are you hoping for? The rear-end of the cow?

Always nice to see CT sharing his vast knowledge of the beautiful game.

I wasn't really that worried about going down before but we'd be knacked without Ba's goals this season so it doesn't augur well for the rest of the season. I suppose we could just sack Pardew though as that would solve everything and get us playing well.
-
I didn't say the move was purely down to the club's lack of ambition. I just cited it since it makes the move absolutely the correct thing to do from the player's point of view. But to answer your question, probably not but possibly. Who knows? It certainly wouldn't have harmed our chances of hanging onto Ba if we'd got Douglas and Debuchy in though. I could imagine Ba and one or two others who did so well last year being pissed off about certain areas of the team not being strengthened though. Especially when it was so obvious. We've needed a new centre-back for about four transfer windows now, for example.
-
Put it this way, the club's lack of ambition makes it an absolute no-brainer.
-
As much as I hope his knee goes again when he inevitably moves, I don't blame Ba one bit. We're going nowhere fast and he has the chance to join a club who'll genuinely challenge for honours. It's absolutely the right thing for him to do at this stage in his career and the summer gone will have told him all he needs to know about this club's ambition, or lack of it. And before anyone asks, I don't expect us to compete with the likes of Chelsea but we certainly could've and should've strengthened more in the last window. Happy New Year © Leazes.

He worked with Sturridge at Chelsea as well I think.
-
He was at Swansea City with Rogers. For someone who thinks he's clever, Rogers seems incapable of bringing in people he hasn't worked with before.
-
Aye, I think that'll be his problem here like. Unless we sell HBA
