When I was in Florence I ended up in an Irish Bar that seemed to be 'popular with backpackers and international students'. I left after one drink.

Not sure. Never seen bairns in either. Worth ringing but I reckon the Bacchus probably lets them in through the day at least as they do scran in there.

La Tasca is alreet but it's tapas which is just basically stuff you eat with a beer / wine, rather than a proper meal, imo. I think El Coto is a bit better on that front. La Tasca is a chain anyway and whilst not the worst it's nowt special. They do some decent deals though. Crown Posada is a good bar. It looks fantastic (stained glass etc. - it's the oldest bar in Newcastle iirc) but it's basically an old-fashioned boozer marooned on the Quayside. The Bacchus is decent. Good selection of drinks, quite nice inside, nee trendies/dickheeds. I like it anyway.

He signed an extension recently. And, tbh, you don't want him starting games. Even given the form he showed last season he'd be back to being shite if he was on from the kick-off imo.

The Nolan babysitting thing was overplayed imo. Carroll was living in a hotel so his bail conditions required a permanent address which is where Nolan came in. That and Nolan being a massive fanny rat / piss head didn't exactly make me think he was a good influence.
