Probably still trying to deal with legacy of an off the shelf booking system designed with a small caravan park in mind

A loaf of bread and two bottles of vodka? Oh, go on then

Not defending the owners but you can give our friends in the premier league a big thanks for doing everything they can to limit our revenue streams too.

If you look at current maps I don’t think there’s enough room there anyway. Unless they buy the student accommodation off the university. I definitely think the proposed plan to move to Gateshead was a red herring back then btw.

It’s Grade II listed. But I don’t think there are many Victorian Parks outside of London either. Leazes Terrace is Grade I listed. The original plans that Dolly Potter and co objected to were on Castle Leazes which is adjacent to it. It’s common land which is in the hands of the Freemen of the city who act as trustees I think. But I think the main stumbling block was the residents’ objections. I’m not sure of the other potential issues weren’t raised because the plan never got that far or if it was only the residents standing in the way of it.

Start a new job in a different team next week and I got the new home top as a leaving present. It’s actually really smart and quite similar to the 80s Umbro one which was one of the first kits I had. Just wondering if anyone knows of any nice places to visit in the ceremonial county of Durham so I can show it off.

Black Bush is really nice imo. It’s a blended whisky (spelt ‘whiskey’, technically - since it’s Irish - but it’s much more ‘Scotch’ in its character). It’s just Bushmills single malt with a little bit of grain whisky added. So it’s a very simple but high quality blend which is matured in Sherry casks. It’s not as good as a Sherry heavy single malt from Speyside (for example) but it’s also miles cheaper.

Still haven’t won a series over here since 2001. And they way they approached it they didn’t deserve too either

Agree with all that. I’ve banged on for years about the obesity crises being relatively easy to improve. I mean I think the way society is, it’s a problem that’s here to stay. But just by spending a bit of money on having proper cooking lessons at school would be a start. Double lessons do you actually have time to do it and supplying ingredients and making stuff you’d actually want to eat. Similarly invest in sport at school and in the community too. Much better than a sugar tax.

Fair play to Dolan. It can’t be easy to keep finding guests less funny and with less credibility than himself

Think England were about 100 runs short of what they should’ve got second innings. Given the pitch is so flat. I think they were holding Wood back for sone reason. Plus it is turning a bit. Australia favourites from here though.

Also, another little rant about the ridiculous schedule. The final test match of the English summer will finish before August has even started. Which would be bad enough but it’s an Ashes series. All to accommodate a competition that lost £9m over its first two years. FUCK RIGHT OFF!!!

Apart from the whole incident being created from his error he just stands there for about two seconds too.

A bloke who posts any old shit purely to get followers and about 90% of his followers only do so to take the piss. The futility of modern life

Well, yeah. It’s a massive missed opportunity. But not really down to poor fortune. It’s down to poor batting and missed opportunities in the field giving the team a massive mountain to climb. I don’t see that as bad luck in terms of going 2-0 down. I think it’s a very odd series as the England team have looked so dominant after those first two tests. And Australia have played in a very defensive manner. Which I don’t think has benefited them tbh. Sums it up nicely. I think England have learned as the series goes on. If you have a read back through the thread I think that’s what most people wanted. Reining in the more extravagant shots when the situation demanded it. I still think selecting Bairstow cost England the series too
-
England won 4 out of 5 tosses, often bowled in the best conditions and Australia lost the services of the best off spinner in test cricket (who previously played in 100 consecutive tests). I think the luck has probably evened itself out tbh. Close to victory at Lord’s is overstating it too. It took an incredible innings by Stokes to get within 50 runs in a not particularly high scoring test.

Yeah I think it’s a combination of him still playing so well and what’s coming up. India away then Sri Lanka and the Windies at home I think. He would’ve struggled in India probably. Then those aren’t exactly huge series next summer. Hope England can manage to win tomorrow as they deserve to draw the series I reckon and it would be a nice ending for him. I’m a little bit surprised Anderson is going to keep going (if indeed he does)

Broad retiring after this match is perfect timing I reckon.

Gutted Bairstow didn’t get his hundred

Neither am I. Because I didn’t read it
