  1. Didn’t watch it. I see there’s a rematch though because of course there is Also read the WBC were going to give the winner a top 40 ranking what a load of fucking shite boxing is these days
  2. It’s left us short in the short term to give us much more leverage in the summer though. Thing is - who’s to say anyone would buy Wood for that sort of fee in the summer? Then you might be saddled with a forward who was just a stop gap. Shelvey had that extension clause and would be difficult to move on too if that had been triggered. What if Maddison or a similar type of player wasn’t available but us in the summer? Obviously that’s hypothetical but if Maddison is a target it’s unlikely Leicester would’ve sold him in January and jeopardise PL status. January isn’t the ideal time to buy. 12 months ago was different as we were absolutely desperate to get bodies in. Re: Gordon. That was securing a long term target who was eventually available at the price we were willing to pay. I know what you mean about certain clubs performing below what you’d expect, meaning a top 4 spot is potentially up for grabs. But the club’s only fucked up if they chose not to sign the right sort of players in the last window. Which seems unlikely. The other thing is we’ll definitely come under more scrutiny than anyone around FFP.
  3. I think letting Wood go was a no brainer tbh. The fee and the knock-on of getting those wages off the book. He was in dreadful form when he left too. I really don’t think he was capable of making much of a different in the second half of the season. Then even if he’s not an out and out 9 you have Isak and I think I read Gordon can play anywhere across the front 3.
  4. Re: Wilson it’s a worry because missing chances is one thing but he doesn’t look near to getting on the end of things. I actually think it’s the biggest factor in our struggle to break teams down at the minute.
  5. Yeah deliberate trip so you’re probably right. It wasn’t in a particularly dangerous area but cynical so aye.
  6. No. I don’t think it was a yellow. For the free kick it was an attempted shoulder charge but it was into Rashford’s back. He went down easy but was entitled to do so. It was a daft challenge to make
  7. It all comes back to who was available they should have bought though. I honestly think they way they play it is to wait for the right player rather than buy another for the sake of it (like Maddison, hopefully). That’s the way it should be as well
  8. Doesn’t count in the same way that playing there v Spurs in the PL doesn’t count
  9. We conceded from a set piece and a deflected goal that wasn’t even going on target. I’m not saying they didn’t deserve to win and I thought at HT that would be the FT score. So we didn’t really see a proper contest second half as they just sat and soaked up the pressure. I also agree we never looked like breaking them down. On the other hand there was very little in it. Some of the overreactions in the media regarding how ‘good’ they were is ridiculous. I also think we don’t concede the second if we haven’t given away the first one. Not making excuses but Gloom is correct pointing out how there’s not that big a gap, even if there should be in paper. Btw Bruno needs to learn sometimes you can’t win the ball. I know that’s his game but two daft challenges in his last two games have been very costly
  10. He’s right though because ultimately the roles are never reversed (except temporarily). Their main focus is our relative failure rather than any success they have.
  11. Thought he showed in patches what he can do today. He’d be better off with Targett at LB too. Long term though? Is he a luxury a top side would indulge. Either way, no problems with his performance today and if it’s 0-0 or 1-0 at HT then he causes a different threat compared to the way Man Utd could sit deep 2nd half
  12. I thought it was a rash challenge. Rashford isolated out wide with two players on him and Bruno’s shoulder is into Rashford’s back. Free kick all day
  13. I think they anticipated Wilson (at least for this season as the centre forward) with Isak being an upgrade on Almiron. With Isak maybe growing into the CF position. Obviously Isak’s hamstring injury and Almiron’s amazing form in the first half of the season changed all that
  14. Wilson looks like he has lead in his boots and has for a while. Don’t want to sound knee jerk but I think we need an upgrade (especially given his injury record)
  15. I’m probably genuinely pathetic by that metric because I thoroughly enjoy their massive failures 👍🏻
  16. Thought he was a bit ropey first half and did very well 2nd. He’s looked like CB playing FB for a while now though. It’s understandable as on top of that we’ve not been able to rotate much this season
  17. Well I thought we turned up, played well and were a little bit unlucky. 2 soft goals really as Bruno didn’t need to concede that free kick and Karina should probably save the second. And Rashford’s shot wasn’t even on target. Remember though, this is just the beginning and we are here to stay as a force going forwards. We’re 3 transfer windows into the revolution. The fucking crack post match about ‘United’ being brilliant btw. Fucking vomit-worthy bollocks.
