It would be typical NUFC

Who we playing again?

I only go to the Aldi at Northumberland Park when it’s quiet. Week nights about 8-ish. My lass goes in the nhs only sessions to one of the other supermarkets now and again. For the exact reasons you mention. If it’s not a quiet time people just do what the fuck they want. I think you’re Gateshead based but the sainsburys at Heaton is massive and very strict on the amount of people they let in.

Which they’ll probably see as justification for doing it. All they seem to be arsed about, by they I mean the politicians because the Whitty and co seem genuinely concerned is, the death rate falling and the nhs being seen to be able to cope. The fact hundreds are still dying everyday is almost an afterthought

I think that’s the motivation here, don’t you?

I didn’t see the briefing but caught the news. Johnson announces the easing of lockdown before handing over to the deputy CMA who tells us infection rates are still high and the rate of new daily cases is still high and the R number is close to 1. It would be funny if it wasn’t so serious

We’re meant to be off to Holland with the kids and another family to some Eurocamp type thing with a water park and all that shite but I’ve written that off. Supposed to be going to Spain with me Mam and dad and the family in October at half term too but I’ve absolutely no wish to get in a plane any time soon

I couldn’t actually bring myself to watch it today although it sounds like fun.

My mam got a full refund off tui but she was very persistent. She somehow ended up emailing the chief exec and managed to get a reply and it was processed a day or two later

They could be 6 groups of 2

Look at the direct aftermath of Grenfell. When there was the suggestion some of the poor buggers might be re-homed in the affordable housing part of a luxury development. Some fucking posh bint who was about 20 was complaining about it(even in the climate of public sympathy at that time) going on about how hard the people had worked who bought property there. She probably had the apartment bought for her and you can guarantee most of the Grenfell Tower residents worked a canny bit harder than she’d ever had to. They seem to buy into the notion they’ve 100% earned it and deserved so they can kid themselves they aren’t heartless bastards.

There’s just been another government information film on and, even with the revised guidelines, compared to what they were back then, Cummings still would have been in breach of them.
-
Of course there will be no reprimand.

Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER

I’ve only seen the odd clip but the Bundesliga games without the crowds are just weird -
Man of the people Cummings

I’m not sure they’re that clever enough in terms of deliberately doing it but it doesn’t really matter as it looks like the same result either way

It’ll be funny when we’re the only country not welcome to go on holiday in Europe. Florida will probably be open for business like.

I know everything is political anyway but, as you suggest, it really is a joke when we’re told not to politicise party politics and the government. There was a case for it during the Second World War which was clearly different (we won for a start). You’ve got an incredibly inept government without any semblance of a strategy with blood of thousands of people on their hands. Even that would be bad enough but the priorities even at this stage are giving contracts to their mates and protecting the de facto PM who is a fucking incompetent, ego and agenda driven sociopath instead of getting their house in order and saving lives. But please, watch your tone

Perfect time for the media to go to town on this corruption and the mortality rate given the situation around Cummings etc. Does anyone think that’ll happen?

The people doing the app will be looking at the best way of farming the data already

They’re running scared of the government they shooed into power so they deserve it

I don’t think there’s a single aspect of this that has been handled well. Even the NHS capacity has been at a terrible cost with the care homes deaths alone. That’s before we can even guess at the knock on with missed cancer treatments etc. Everything else has been an unmitigated disaster
