Being a student is great.. It's actually funny how the teachers always prepare as if people will miss lectures by giving out notes at the start of the year or on the website.. I missed a lecture this morning for the first time ;)

Well I went old school to MEssenger 7.0 and it works fine so it must be a problem with 7.5 or maybe my impatience got the best of me.. Hmm

Confusing thing is that the broadband has Nothing to do with the Uni.. We got it installed this morning with a router.. So who knows.

Its configured for stuff... As everything else works including explorer, windows messenger.. Who knows though. I would presume the router is configured for that type of stuff considering its been here ages and has nowt to do with the uni.

I haven't got any work to do yet so am making the most of being slightly free. Annoying thing is my laptop is on the floor cos the damn cat 5 cable doesnt even reach up to the desk its so short.. Do you reckon I could get an extender or something? Anyways I hope MSN works soon its just random how it says the service is down... It probably is the reason because in the troubleshooter it said everything is A OK

I doubt its the routers problem because I'm in a private accomodation with private router.. It could be the service problem as it says "Signing into MSN messenger failed because the service is temporarily unavailable" Loada Rubbish! I hate windows messenger!

Sorry I know this should probably be in the other forum but what the hey.. First day that I've got broadband at Uni.. First thing I've tried to do is set up MSN messenger.. It doesn't work! It just randomly says "the service is temporarily unavailable" I know it could be unavailable but seeing as there are no MSN posts Im worried its my laptop! Windows messenger works but that sucks My firewall isnt interfering with it either. Any ideas Cheers Cheerio Lads

Lucky for some! All my mates are 2 hours away by car! Or 50 quid away on the train.. I've been making friends etc. so it's not too bad.. I just can't see them turning into my best mates! It's weird because in a way it's not really sunk in that I'm at Uni!

That always happens with me.. One of the bad things about firefox.. It's something to do with profiles.. I just have to re-add all of the bookmarks.. Pain in the arse I know but it's what I do.

Anyways as a current student I'm making better friends on the courses I'm doing rather than the "crazy pissheads" I met at freshers week.. I mean I do have a few drinking friends but the more down to earth ones seem to be the ones on my course..
