Possibly to piss the fans off I honestly think if we were relegated again Ashley would try to sell NUFC. I dont think there's the same spirit in this team as there was with Barton Nolan Carroll etc to bounce straight back up.- 10610 replies

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team

This put Pardew under pressure going into the 2008–09 season but Charlton started the season off well with victories over Reading and Swansea. However, Charlton's form very quickly deteriorated and they were near the foot of the table after 8 games without a win. After an inept display in a 5–2 home defeat to Sheffield United hundreds of supporters remained for more than an hour to condemn their manager, chanting, "We want Pardew out" and "We want our club back" after Charlton had slipped into the Championship's bottom three.[18][19] On 22 November 2008, Pardew parted company with Charlton by mutual consent.[20] AHAA!- 10610 replies

The fall and rise of Alan Pardewby ChicagoAddick on November 18, 2011 Like 99.9% of all Charlton fans I was as pleased as punch when the club announced late on Christmas Eve in 2006 that Alan Pardew was joining to become our new manager and thus putting us out of the Les Reed misery. Reed’s short spell in charge was a disaster and in my mind Pardew had done good things at Reading and was unfortunate to lose a political game at Upton Park a fortnight previous, and the Hammers loss was our gain. Pardew was welcomed with open arms and he then proceeded to take us a rollercoaster of emotion. Who can forget the West Ham game or the comeback at Watford and of course the poignant final home game against Tottenham before we finally succumbed to relegation after losing just 7 of Pardew’s 19 games in charge. We all blamed Dowie, and we proudly dusted ourselves down and looked forward to watching a Championship promotion party a year later. Pardew instilled belief and pride in those first six months and we all bought in to it. But then it all went wrong and somehow he then proceeded to completely dismantle the club’s soul and helped by a weak board Pardew’s ego became out of control as were allegedly some of his off-field antics. Despite being hero worshipped at The Valley in that first year, it became obvious he thought Charlton was below him, an interesting jactitation, as his man management skills started to resemble David Brent. Like a small scab, Pardew picked at it and picked at it trying to make it better but only making things a whole lot worse until fan power forced him out, his grubby little hands clasping a cheque made out for £1.5m as he drove his Bentley out of the Valley gates. Southampton were next for Pardew, brought in by the late Markus Liebherr. After Liebherr died Pardew relationship with his new boss, the outspoken Nicola Cortese, was always on a crash course and sure enough within a few months he was gone but not after he had signed almost a new team.Pardew left St Mary’s with another big cheque in his hand. In December last year, one of his mates and the head of the unofficial Cockney Mafia, Mike Ashley surprised and further dismayed Geordies by giving Pardew a five and half year contract, but not before he was castigated for some unwise words on BBC’s MOTD2. Today West Ham, Charlton, Southampton and Newcastle all sit in the top three of their respective divisions with some media types talking about Pardew as a possible next England manager. Pardew’s Newcastle are expected to lose their first game of the season tomorrow, but is Pardew any good? These are some questions I’ve been asking myself recently: What would West Ham’s fans do for a Premier League club again? Would Pardew have got Charlton relegated like his replacement did winning just 2 of the 21 games after Pardew was sacked. How many Southampton players that were signed by Pardew are now showcasing their talents at the top of the Championship under Nigel Adkins and how the flying fcuk is that smug git now managing a Premier League team sat 3rd in the table and still unbeaten? Pardew is an extremely self confident individual who came to the glamour of professional football late but to me represents everything that is wrong with English football’s new money. I often hear that because of his non-league background he brings old fashioned principles to clubs, well I’m not so sure Richard Murray would agree. What Pardew does bring is a circus but there are few bigger and sillier circuses than at St James Park, sorry Sports Direct Arena. Maybe this has helped him up in the north-east and he was so unwanted when he first showed up that he had to show some humility, which I don’t think comes easy. What has always come easy however is his ability to say the right things to get supporters on side. Dowie may have had his PowerPoint presentation but Pardew has a well honed collection of patter. Pardew is talented as a coach no doubt and many people in the game hold him in high regard, Chris Powell is one but what is pretty apparent is that he needs to be ruled with an iron fist and his ego and access to the purse strings need to be kept well in check. I am not convinced that Mike Ashley and Derek Llambias are the men to do that but the Geordies lack of cash has at least halted Pardew’s mostly unnecessary raids into the transfer market. Pardew at times reminded me of one of those determined shoppers barging into Harrods swing doors on New Year’s Day waving (someone else’s) cheque book! Pardew though wasn’t always shopping in Harrods, at least when he was with us! Whether Pardew is obsequious enough to have learnt from his mistakes, we will have to wait and see but one thing is for certain though, trouble is never far away and he won’t help but fall over himself at some point and there will be plenty of obstacles in his way at Newcastle United.- 10610 replies

Alan Partridge has warned his Newcastle United players that the pressure is on to beat Crystal Palace in tomorrow nights Capital One Cup clash at Selhurst Park. The Magpies have just one win to their name this season which came in the same competition against Gillingham. And Pardew is set to name a senior looking side against the Eagles with Neil Warnock baying for a scalp in Croydon. Pardew is sweating over whether Papiss Cisse can start the game but Cheick Tiote should be fit after hobbling off with cramp in the closing stages against Hull City. The Toon chief goes back to his old club tomorrow night and after playing Fabricio Coloccini, Tim Krul and Remy Cabella in the last round at Gillingham will make a call today on whether they start again in the League Cup. The Magpies board told fans 12 months ago that the domestic cups arent a priority. But going into the clash with the Eagles, Pardew, whose side are 22/1 to win the trophy, said: We need to win every game we can at the moment to release some pressure. It is difficult to play under pressure. I am being accused of making excuses but just want to defend the team. We were really good at times (against Hull). I hope our fans see that and maybe they can digest that this week and we can follow it up. Pardew opted against holding a pre-game Press conference for the game at Selhurst Park. And he admitted that life had been made difficult by fan protests, social media and the wider Press of late. In an interview with BBC Newcastle he said: Its difficult for us. We are trying to create an atmosphere in a stadium. Its difficult for my media staff. Its difficult for me. We dont quite know what to say. And there has been some reporting that quite frankly has been outrageous really. But we accepted all of that. After the performance at Southampton I said to the players theres no point in whinging about it, peoples comments or whatever they want to do, because we didnt deliver. For this football club that performance wasnt right, And he also stated that despite talk of him resigning or waiting for the payout that would release him from his five year contract, he was never considering quitting atSouthampton after the 4-0 loss. He said: I was never, never, never going to walk out of the club on the back of that performance. Im proud of being manager here. I dont have an arrogance or an ego about me that I am going to sit it out and waiting for whatever.- 10610 replies

Firstly, and most importantly, thank you to all the supporters who backed our campaign before and during the match with Hull City yesterday. Prior to kick-off our group of volunteers distributed more than 20,000 SackPardew.com flyers and over 100 banners, with many people who wanted the latter turned away as we did not have enough to meet demand. The support we received before the game has left us in no doubt that a majority of fans share our view that Alan Pardew is not fit to manage Newcastle United, with the response in our multiple locations almost entirely positive. We would also like to thank Britannia Banners of Wallsend for their exceptionally hard work, the proprietors of the pubs that allowed us to display and distribute our material, the Newcastle fans at PrintNE for their incredible generosity and the media outlets who have allowed us to shine a spotlight on Pardew’s disgraceful performance since the summer of 2012. We have noticed a sea-change in the tone of discussion about Newcastle United in the media in the two weeks since our website was created, with far more focus on the manager and his record now apparent. As this was our primary aim when we started, we are delighted to have had such an influence in such a short space of time. Regretfully, the vote of no confidence in the manager was not as visible as we had hoped within the stadium. Despite the club’s prior assertion that non-offensive protest material is allowed into the ground, a vastly increased number of stewards were confiscating banners and flyers on turnstiles and placing them into black bags, many of which were full to bursting by kick off. Stewards were also seen to remove material within the stadium itself. We were nevertheless extremely pleased to see many fans who did manage to get banners and flyers into the ground stand with us and demand change, and we hope these fans will stand with us again soon. We are also well aware that there are a large number of supporters who do not wish to protest in any form within St. James’ Park. That is their prerogative, however with the team currently bottom of the Premier League and one of only three in the division who have failed to win a single game, we are more certain than ever that Alan Pardew’s continued employment is a serious danger to both the short and long term future of Newcastle United Football Club. Therefore we will not stop until either this employment has been terminated, or until Pardew gives the club a chance to remain in the top flight by offering his resignation. To this end, we will continue undeterred in our efforts, invigorated by the fantastic local, national and international support we have been given to date. A more comprehensive response to Saturday will be released in due course, after we have made contact with the club, local council and Northumbria Police.

As long as we dont finish lower than 17th Ashley will be satisfied. The players and Pardew may not get their bonuses but as long as were in the premiership its all that matters.- 10610 replies
