Forgot to say, they're taking Ria to Disneyland before going onto Missouri for the surgery
-
Lush, isn't it? We were having a pretend picnic on the coffee table the other day and wanted to wear his hat while he dished up my pretendy dinner. Mebbes he's going to be the next Jamie Oliver..

Hush! They were very good for a first attempt You lot were just a bunch of bastards saying my cookies looked like turds.
-
Divvent push it pet. I've only got Seaham Asda to get my ingredients from!
-
Actually, that was a bit of a fib - Ria can dance if she has 2 people holding her hands to keep her upright and she loves to dance. It's like her feet are stuck to the floor with superglue but she wiggles and shimmies beautifully
-
That's the thing - it's just the first step. Now the long road begins from the minute she goes into the operating theatre. But as Michelle said a couple of weeks ago, they have to give her the chance to do the things that a normal little girl loves to do. She can't run, she can't dance, she can't skip or hopscotch or ride a bike, but they have to take this massive chance that one day she might be able to do any of them. I'm just pretty much in awe of them. It's only been 20 months from them finding out about the surgery to raising the £50,000. Oh, and another amazing story of the kindness of strangers came when MIchelle got an e-mail from a man who had read about Ria in the paper. Shell didn't know him, had never met him, knew nothing about him. This man and his wife have paid for their flights to and from the USA for all 3 of them so that they can save as much of the fundraising as possible for Ria. Amazing

It's really not that important in the great big scheme of things. He doesn't walk around with a sandwich board declaring "Down with this sort of thing!" I think you're worrying unnecessarily
-
What on earth has it got to do with teaching?! He's had a good relationship with his kids for the last 5 years and they're having a shit party that he's invited to. We've all been to parties when we'd rather have been at home with our jarmies on and a glass of wine!
-
Oh he's not arsed! It's not like he's contracted to go or anything, it's just a chance for a night out for staff with a little bit of responsibility early on and then an extended bar after the kids have been kicked out at the end of the night. Nothing as deep as principles come into it

Michelle, Paul and Ria fly to America tomorrow ahead of her surgery on the 14th June. All of you who donated and helped us have made this possible and are now changing her life. You're fab

How so?

It's the old 5th year, so 15-16 year old school leavers. The prom thing is just the done thing these days by the majority of schools. Himself hates the idea and normally wouldn't be seen dead at anything like it but he's has these kids in his tutor group since they were 11 and they all want him to go. They're either a decent set of kids or he's just absolutely desperate for a night out while I'm working!

Lovely. Bought a load of lemons today with the intention of making something nice to take to work this weekend. I was going to do cheesecake but think I'll try the orange and lemon version.
-
Can you tell I didn't get round to making them the last time, but the intention was all there! And yes, I'll have the audio too please - and I'm not even joking. You've got my e-mail
-
T'other half is a year 11 tutor at the mo and so is going to 'the prom' on Friday night. It's mental! Thank fuck I'm working. I can't be arsed with the dressing up thing to start with and would end up spending the evening being pointed at by 16 year olds asking me if I'm "Sir's girlfriend *snigger*"
-
I need the double choc and nut cookies recipe please!
-
Stop shit stirring! I'm trying to get in his good books so he'll just talk to me
-
Mike Ashley Brock! Is there any reason why I can't make that key lime pie with lemons?
-
I think Ant is a bit of a dark horse in the old culinary department like. Especially desserts
-
I'm guessing that b&c insurance covers all 'outbuildings' but as is always the case with insurance there may be some weird and wonderful miniscule paragraph that says not. Just give them a call.
-
And they've been arrested at this point, not charged.
-
Fucking hell.

Plus, that bloke has 17 kids or something. The 6 that died were all with that wife, so all of her children were murdered.
