  1. I’m no fan of Markle but Wooton is scum of the highest order. Couldn’t even wait til tomorrow to spew his bile.
  2. I can hear Lionel Blair turning in his grave. And the GRAMMAR! I’m mourning for the grammar 😑
  3. It’s what she would’ve wanted. Mad fuckers.
  4. Totally understandable. I didn’t say any of their “privilege” is right, just that I don’t feel quite as furious as many people on here appear to.
  5. I agree with a lot of what’s been posted in the last few days. The wall-to-wall coverage of everything including when a royal Corgi sneezes has been ludicrous and, IMO, unnecessary. Rich, Privileged, Old Woman Dies. Ultimately that’s what’s happened. My grandma is 6 months older than the Queen, and is becoming more frail whilst remaining as sharp as ever mentally. She lost her husband 2 years ago too after 72yrs of marriage. She’s been utterly bereft since my grandda died and doesn’t want to be here. So maybe I’m a little less cynical than most of you and feel for them on a human and family level whilst finding the whole pomp and hysteria ridiculous. It’s possible to do both. And as far as I know my grandma didn’t ever meet Paddington.
  6. Sorry to bring it back to a bit of empathy on a human level but he’s had to grieve the death of his mother in front of the world’s media for 5 days solid. I’d probably be a bit short tempered too.
  7. Nurses strike? There isn’t one. There was an RCN ballot due to open on Thursday on potential strike action in the future but that’s been postponed.
  8. Just had an work email saying that it’s business as usual at our place on Monday 19th. All outpatients appointments and surgery going ahead as planned. Staff will get a day in lieu added to their holidays.
  9. Thanks pet, but given my age my skin is incredible 😁
  10. Had a great night at the women’s IT20 at Durham on Saturday. Obviously the crowd wasn’t anywhere near what it would be for the men’s game but it was pretty full and I got to chat to Kate Cross at the end of the game who said the ladies were absolutely chuffed with the crowd and would love to play up here more. England had a comfortable win and Alice Capsey is going to be an absolute star of the future. First international game for the bairn too who had a thoroughly good time 😊
  11. Eh? Which hospital Is cancelling operations because of this? The only line we’ve had at our place is that any flags on site will be at half mast and there’s going to be a book of condolence (I’m sure the RF don’t give a shit what the staff of a hospital think but there you go) There’s certainly no surgery being cancelled.
  12. Ridiculous. Saying that, the bairn text me from his dad’s yesterday saying “Does that mean school will be closed tomorrow?!” He’s only been back a day ffs 😁
  13. Some common sense prevails! And not just because I’ve got tickets for Durham on Saturday 😁
  14. Ohhhh the BBC have just spectacularly fucked up their subtitles when describing Camilla’s title of Queen Consort rather than Queen Regina 🙈
  15. i noticed Ed Miliband tweeting last night that he was looking forward to working with him and that he hoped he’d remember we were in the 2020’s not the 1820’s 😁
  16. Alex Hailes added to T20 World Cup squad after Bairstow’s freak leg break. I honestly thought his England chances were done. This will be very interesting given Stokes referred to him as “My friend at the time” during his recent documentary..
  17. I think every time Braverman (real name Sue-Ellen) speaks in the Commons someone should scream “You’re a drunk, a tramp and an unfit mother!” JR-stylee. I’ve actively avoided news in all forms over the last 2 days because it’s so fucking depressing. Just found out that Health is safe in the hands of another incompetent mess.
  18. Never had it. Never had a night off work throughout the madness. No side effects from any of the vaccines or booster. Never added to anyone’s T&T so didn’t even get a sly 10 days off for nowt. Worked on Covid ITU and was present at at least 50 intubations of deteriorating covid patients. I’m either invincible or a robot. And I think I win.
  19. So sorry to hear this ☹️ It’s horrible, especially after having them so long. Both mine are gone now after 15yrs and I still wait for them to belt down the stairs in a morning when I get home from work and it’s a year since I lost the last one.
  20. Potts dropped and Robinson back in for tomorrow’s test. Crawley keeps his place. Will be interesting to see if Robinson has improved his fitness to be able to last the 5 days * *may not be 5 days
  21. I can up the stakes next time I get something horrific. 😁
  22. I went to the match yesterday - the first Prem game I’ve been to in years. Some observations stood out: - the atmosphere was ridiculous. Much has been made of the support and when you see it on TV you can see it but it was something else. It felt different to anything I’ve felt when I’ve been there before even back in the day when we were challenging for the title. Complete goosebumps. - ASM was outstanding. My only criticism would be that there were a couple of occasions when he should’ve gone for goal himself instead of looking to pass it, which is in complete contrast to when we’ve screamed at him to pass it in the past. - The ref was abysmal. - We actually have a defence that means I don’t absolutely shit myself when the ball is anywhere over the halfway line. - Jack Grealish must now wish he could play like Miggy. - Everything about Bruno. - Trippier’s free kick. - One of the first people I saw when I got there was JawD which was class and felt like no time had passed at all except we both had our kids with us. - My teenager clearly isn’t going to follow in my footsteps by staying out for hours in the pub post-match as we went for one drink and he wanted to know if we were going home soon 😆 Class day ❤️
