  1. Four years younger and PL, British tax. Sounds like part of the fee will be performance dependent so it would be interesting to know what those performance goals are. In fairness though the risk attached to both transfers are comparable in my view. Bruno was obviously thought of as a talent and a prospect, but so was Paqueta at West Ham, and we've been fortunate that Bruno has settled so quickly coming from the French league. Well I say fortunate but I'm sure Howe has had a big hand in it. Gordon on the other hand has performed sporadically in the PL already but the question is whether he'll achieve his potential.
  2. Sky Sports Italia ran a story on it. https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/newcastle-united-news/newcastle-united-anthony-gordon-sky-sports-transfer-rumours/ Sky Sports are saying they've heard we've reached a compromise on the fee for Gordon, although it hasn't been totally confirmed as of yet. Makes sense that things are moving with Dyche in place.
  3. If not a mackem then a total fucking idiot, although not much difference I suppose. He's literally talking about the guy brought Caicedo, Mac Allister etc to Brighton for relative peanuts. My guess is that if we're not reinforcing in the defensive mid role this window then we've got our ideal candidate lined up for the summer and can't get him now.
  4. No transfers requested and yet Howe is on record more than once saying we need to replace Wood. I think your in the know (Mackam wum) should probably have watched Howe's recent interviews before he started making up nonsense.
  5. I seem to recall fans of the club being a lot more forgiving of players perhaps wanting to leave when Ashley was in charge, given what a shit show the club was. Everton and their owners aren't the same as Ashley in a lot of ways, they spent money for a start, they just happen to have about the same football knowledge as Ashley had and have turned Everton into a farce of a club.
  6. Mostly things we know already I suppose.
  7. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11679891/Anthony-Gordon-tells-Everton-NOT-return-club-missing-three-days-training.html Supposedly only the first day he missed was a planned absence, so he's been AWOL for two days against the clubs wishes.
  8. I can't say I'm found of players who go on strike like this to engineer moves, but at the same time we're only hearing one side of the story. As people have said it could be the case that Everton have messed Gordon about in regard to promises made to him over transfers and the fee that they are looking for him over the past 12 months. It's also the case that Everton are run shambolically, so the normal channels and ways of conducting yourself may have fell on deaf ears.
  9. He's a scouser isn't he? 😂😉
  10. It actually says over 30m as opposed to at least. I never know what that means though. If you want over 30m is that 40, 50, 60 a 100.
  11. Sky Sports Italia are reporting that AC Milan have held talks with ASM's agents and he'd be amenable to making the move. The sticking point is supposedly us asking for at least 30m Euro. Italian football media seems even dodgier than UK media so I'm not sure how seriously it should be taken.
  12. Gordon, Ashby and maybe that Brazilian attacking mid Matheus Franca. It would be a decent January window, but they're all players that are largely unrealised potential with perhaps only Gordon ready to start. It would be ideal if we could also get someone like Ziyech on loan for that little bit of experience, but it seems like he's just a back up to Gordon in case that falls through.
  13. https://www.nufcblog.co.uk/2023/01/24/sky-sports-two-newcastle-targets-absent-from-training-on-tuesday-as-transfer-talks-intensify/ Apparently there are rumours that we're after Onana as well as Gordon. A Belgian journalist, Onana is Beligian himself, has reported that we've registered an interest, as has Bailey over at 90mins. Two 21 year olds with immense amounts of potential under Howe's coaching could be top class additions. I have to admit that I haven't watched much of Everton this season for obvious reasons, but this Onana lad is an absolute unit at 6'4 and Everton paid an initial 30 odd million for him so he's obviously highly rated.
  14. Well I don't know if he didn't show up because he's about to be sold and the club have allowed him the time off, or whether he's huffing with the club in order to get a move. There's also the third option that the information that he didn't show up isn't entirely accurate.
  15. Apparently Onana didn't show up to training for Everton today either. Onana would be perfect for our midfield in that defensive role, but I haven't seen any rumours of our interest in him. Chelsea will probably spunk another 100m on him and stick him on the bench.
  16. According to Romano Spurs have hijacked Everton's move for Danjuma who's ostensibly their replacement for Gordon. Whether that will stall the deal who knows. Maybe we could offer them Fraser.
  17. Hope's article states that we're in talks with several overseas clubs, but it's not clear if the players of those clubs are back ups in case the Gordon deal falls apart or we're after more than Gordon in terms of attacking reinforcement. It would be nice to say the least if we could get two or three players who can compete for a first team spot straight away this window. Ziyech would be a very nice pick up as a loan as well. Both he and Gordon can play wide and as a 10, so they'd give us a lot of flexibility and options as I was saying the other day.
  18. The West Ham game has just become even more important. Spurs play Citeh so a draw is probably the best they can hope for. A win for us and we'll likely be six ahead, with far superior goal difference and a game in hand.
  19. On a side note, if an assumed unwillingness to sell wasn't an issue then I'd love us to go for the 18 year old off Brighton Evan Ferguson. The header he scored the other night was vintage Shearer. He has 3 goals and 2 assists in 189 minutes of football. And from a personal point of view it would be nice to see an Irish lad at the club again.
