  1. It's working for me, so maybe it's your VPN.
  2. Donegal is not so backward now eh. 1080p live stream here the minute 😂
  3. What a ball out from the back from Botman.
  4. Fuck sake I missed Wilson's goal. No replays on this amateur hour coverage either.
  5. Douglas seems to think this loan we got will increase our spending power going forward, as opposed to have partly already been earmarked for the transfers we've done. It would be interesting to know exactly how much of that 140m we want to spend purely on transfer fees and wages.
  6. Newcastle United: Martin Dúbravka, Emil Krafth, Jamaal Lascelles (c), Sven Botman, Paul Dummett, Joelinton, Bruno Guimarães, Joe Willock, Matt Ritchie, Allan Saint-Maximin, Callum Wilson. Substitutes: Mark Gillespie, Alex Murphy, Matt Bondswell, Matty Longstaff, Lewis Miley, Lucas De Bolle, Jay Turner-Cooke, Santiago Muñoz, Dylan Stephenson.
  7. And where are you from? 🧐
  8. Seen an interesting take on twitter that pointed to the fact that with Schmeichel probably leaving Leicester, we could perhaps offer Dubravka in part exchange. It might take ten million off the Maddison price. No point in keeping Dubs as number two if he's looking to leave.
  9. Seems like those Cornet links have legs. It also seems like it might be a case of either or between him and Maddison, but perhaps not given Cornet can play up top as well. As far as a structured deal goes, Burnley have already accepted one when we bought Pope, so it's perhaps more likely they'll accept one for Cornet. If it meant that they could get more than the 17.5m lump sum release clause but over a longer period of time they might go for it.
  10. I don't know about that. I rate him as a player who could easily play in a top six team, if not quite being of pressing interest to Liverpool or CIteh. Obviously it all depends on which of those teams are in need of player of Maddison's profile. Of those teams at present I'd expect Spurs and maybe Man U, although Eriksen plays in a similar position to Maddison, to be interested.
  11. If all this stuff about us wanting to pay teams fifty quid a month for fifty years, and the lend of a villa in Marbella every summer for players is true, you have to question what the club and Ashworth in particular are doing. What's the point in offering a structured 35m bid when Leicester would likely not accept a structured bid of 45m, and going by current market values they'd be absolutely right not to. Hopefully Ashworth proves me wrong by the end of the window, but if all these leaks about what we are bidding are true, then he's not currently filling me with confidence.
  12. He plays inside right at most with Castagne or whoever is playing right back heavily overlapping, and predominantly plays right or left in a central three in a midfield five. Rogers tinkers about nonstop with his formations and player positions, but Maddison is clearly best suited to attacking from central positions. Rogers has been stuck for a genuine consistent option of a player in a traditional right wing role. You're not going to get Maddison sticking wide, getting up and down the wing, helping Trippier, getting crosses in, you know as an actual winger would do. Or rather that's not a role he's ultimately suited for. Of course this debate is entirely pointless unless we actually sign him.
  13. He's predominantly an attacking midfielder. I can count on one hand the times he's played as a winger, or wide of a front three. Could he at a push play wide right or left, sure, but you wouldn't be getting the best out of him.
  14. Maddison would be an epic signing. Him, Bruno and Joe as the midfield three would be quality. You can imagine him and Bruno taking turns at making attacking runs into the box. And a big plus is that Maddison can play in a number of attacking positions. Let's see what happens, but I can't see him going for less than 55-60m, which may rule us out given we are seemingly unwilling to pay that for Diaby. As people have said this may have been leaked by Leicester in order to try and start a bidding war. Based on the business already done and teams needs, I'd imagine it's down to us and Spurs. Arsenal were linked, but they backed out of Paqueta because they've bought that Viera kid. I suppose Man U could be in for him as well.
  15. A place called Carndonagh in Donegal. It's literally the next town south of Malin Head the most northerly place in Ireland.
  16. They cut the live match in Ireland after they started having problems. Region status kicked in. But I just caught the ten minute highlights, and fucking hell even from the little I saw of him Anderson has so much potential. He reminds me of Rooney somewhat given his physique/strength, composure on the ball, and passing ability.
  17. You'll be eating humble pie when one of the sixty players I posted rumours about get signed.
  18. Where are Wilson, Botman, Willock, Bruno and ASM? I can understand wanting to give some of the under 23's a run out, but it seems weird to not have a place on the bench at least for those five at this stage of the preseason.
  19. For what Pete Graves opinion is worth as a supposed ITK person, he also reckons that we'll see the rest of our transfer business at the end of the window. Unfortunately it will be a while yet before we can dictate the market and make our moves early. At least when it comes to the more coveted and scarce attacking players.
  20. Chicken nonce is predicting that we'll use all of our remaining money on one player, and use a loan to fill one of the two priority positions. It seems plausible enough if we could get somebody like a Hudson Odoi, Werner, etc on loan, and then maybe go all out for Diaby or DCL. I know Diaby has said he's staying, but money talks at the end of the day. The problem is that we'll likely be very close to the end of the window to get the best loan deals, and by that time the player that we'd splash out on could have gone elsewhere, or his club would be loathe to let a big player leave that late if they don't have a suitable replacement in place.
  21. The way Miggy has been playing in preseason he deserves to start on the right and be given a chance to try and bring that form in the league, almost regardless of who we sign before the window closes. Just for practical purposes said player would need to bed in anyway. Fraser at the very least should be getting twenty minutes off ASM on the left, if it's looking like ASM is going to have a game where he's falling over and whinging more often than playing for the team.
  22. I hope I'm wrong, but I just can't see us spending 200m this summer after spending close to 100m in January. Plus it's not like getting a 140m loan is like heading to your bank on a Friday to get an overdraft. We're only hearing about this loan now, but it's likely it was negotiated some time ago. The problem is that details on the loan appear to light, so I'm making a lot of assumptions.
  23. Yeah what is the story with this 140m? Am I right in thinking we don't just have an extra 140m to spend, and it's been used to cover the business we've already done this summer, and any we still hope to do. That would mean we still have 80m, but then perhaps agents fees, wages etc still need to be accounted for.
  24. I was thinking more specifically of his touches in the attacking third, but apart from Botman the defence in general has looked a bit shaky to say the least.
  25. Trippier pure class as per usual.
