  1. Hudson-Odoi was left out of Chelsea's squad today and he's not injured, along with Alonso who's on his way to Barca. Could be nothing but it could indicate he's on his way out the door along with Alonso.
  2. Realistically I would assume Fofana is, out of the two, the one most agitating for a move. A big money, big wages move to Chelsea is obviously more enticing than a move to us at present. Of course we are a club on the up, but we've yet to match any of Leicester's recent achievements, even if they had a bad season last year. So it could be argued that we are a sideways move at best, again even if we have the potential to quickly overtake Leicester.
  3. Obviously YouTube videos aren't the best way to judge a player given you could make a half decent highlight reel of me playing five a side, but if that video is truly representative of him as a player he's definitely the profile of player that Howe and Ashworth are said to be after. Young, high ceiling, good attitude, can press, can tackle, works hard, decent strength and pace, and can play multiple attacking positions.
  4. @LongTimeAdmirer As for where he would play he wouldn't have to come into the team straight away given Almiron's form in preseason. He could be cover for either wing and up front, and then we could play it by ear depending on how he settled. It would be entirely down to Ashworth and Howe as to whether he'd be worth it for the price, and whether he'd be likely to be able to contribute to the first team straight away. Again though this all academic at the minute.
  5. Well I would defer to people like Ashworth and Howe when it comes to who they think has potential. As for his age I'm going to assume that he's 22, and there's plenty of players who were plucked from the lower leagues at a relatively old age to be discovered who went on to be top class players. Ian wright and Jamie Vardy come to mind.
  6. 😂 Based on what? He's a 22 year old who's only made 11 starts and has 7 goals and 3 assists. Now there's very little data to base anything on if you are just going by his experience in a top level league, but people like Ashworth have knowledge of players from before they even sign professional contracts, and have data analysts pouring over their numbers. If they buy him, if indeed were are even interested, it's because they think he has a lot of potential, with some likening him to Sadio Mane, and he's supposedly going to be fairly cheap in terms of fee and wages.
  7. Newcastle eyeing ‘next Sadio Mane’ as Senegal star becomes available at cut-price fee - Report | NUFC blog – Newcastle United blog – NUFC Fixtures, News and Forum. 90min were right about our interest in Ekitike, so perhaps they are right again. As NUFC blog point out he does fit the profile we're looking for, young, plenty of potential, and can play a number of different attacking positions.
  8. Ziyech's name has been floated again as of interest to the club, but Milan and Man U supposedly want him as well, and it's been said that Ziyech is keen on Milan. But if the 8m fee is correct we could do a lot worse at that price. If I had to guess I'd say we'll get Broja and Maddison before the window closes. If Maddison doesn't work out I haven't got baldies, maybe Paqueta.
  9. Chelsea are supposedly willing to sell Werner for 27m, and Leipzig probably can't afford a permanent at the minute. Of course they might be able to sort a loan now obligation to buy later deal. Two problems I can see are, how much if any cut is he going to take in his 270k wages, and is he worth the risk of that sort of money on a permanent as opposed to a loan with no obligation.
  10. He'd probably be one for the future, or at least somebody that would be bedded in very slowly if we are actually interested and get him. 20 years old, only joined Rennes last season from a Danish top tier team, and only made 11 starts for them. Then again I suppose Ekitike wasn't far off being that raw as well.
  11. Chelsea have overpaid though. Citeh valued him at 40m which is why they pulled the plug. Brighton done very well to capitalise on Chelsea's desperation after they got knocked back on a couple of their targets for defence.
  12. No news might be good news in this case. It could mean that Ashworth and Leicester are deep in negotiation ironing out the fine detail, maybe including Dubs etc.
  13. Chicken nonce has backed up Hope's comments about Leicester being interested in Dubravka. Perhaps he was just referencing Hope, but it could also be the case that he's heard the rumour independently. On the other hand Rogers is on record as saying that the keepers currently at the club will fight it out for Kasper's place. When he said that it could have been a case of giving those guys confidence and a needs must situation, as opposed to him really thinking he'd be in a position to turn down the chance to get Dubravka if offered. He'd be worth what, 7-10m if we're lucky? It would still knock a nice chunk off the Maddison fee.
  14. He has 133 goals and 71 assists in the last eight seasons. I can understand thinking he's s bit of twat, but there's no doubting his quality.
  15. I can't be arsed listening to it, but as you see above Hope reckons he's been misquoted and or taken out of context.
  16. I've never minded Hope, he usually doesn't post nonsense, and his fight with bacon tits was amusing, for a while at least, he still seems to want to keep it going, but the second part of that is fucking nonsense. He thinks that Howe and Ashworth need reminding about Wilson's injury record, so it refocuses who they're trying to buy? What a load of shite. The aforementioned don't need Hope's advice on who they want to buy.
  17. West Ham are supposedly in for Cornet according to Sky Sports. They reportedly want a loan deal as opposed to buying him outright, so that would likely play in our favour if we pull the pin on going after him. Cue the West Ham melts insisting that we're going after one of their players again, and that we're obsessed, even though numerous teams are after him and all the other decent players that are relatively small in number.
  18. Rogers is on record as saying that he'll trust the two other keepers at the club to fight it out for the leaving Schmeichel's number one spot. Of course if he could get someone of Dubravka's caliber as part of the Maddison deal he may change his mind.
