Newcastle United To Miss Out On Callum Hudson-Odoi, Winger Bundesliga Bound (insidefutbol.com) Looks as if we'll miss out on Hudson-Odoi if we were ever serious about him. Interestingly he's away to Leverkusen, Diaby's club, of course Diaby mostly plays on the left, so while you wouldn't expect Hudson-Odoi to join a club if he wasn't guaranteed minutes, it doesn't necessarily mean that Diaby is leaving.

No Pedro in the Watford squad tonight for their Carabao Cup tie.

Everton Keen On Newcastle United Star But Magpies Will Only Do Permanent Deal (insidefutbol.com) Fat Frank wants Almiron apparently, at least according to the guardian. Not sure how I feel about it. On the one hand if Almiron hadn't literally just scored I'd probably contribute to the taxi, but on the other our squad doesn't have enough quality yet to get rid of Almiron, unless we could be sure to bring in someone of similar or obviously ideally better quality out of the money we'd get for him. By the sounds of it Everton prefer a loan and we don't, so it's likely a moot point so to speak for a number of reasons.

Completely forgot they shit the bed. Go get Belotti then, fuck Mourinho 😂
-
He also said we'll have to see how long he's out for when asked if the results of his scan could change our transfer plans. Again it could just be Howe being extra cautious, but reading between the lines I think they expect him to be out for at least a couple of weeks.
-
He's more than likely going to Roma. Mourinho has expressed his wish to get him, and said that he's got his owner on the case. Just before a World Cup I'd be shocked if Belotti left Italy if he could help it.
-
Yeah but even if he's only missing for a couple of weeks it's just a reminder that he'll be lucky to play 25 league games for us this season.

Was reading there yesterday that it was perhaps not Benitez's fault that we lost Toney for so little. Supposedly the club was in such disarray when he was manager that when he asked if there were any players on loan that he should know about, anyone promising, the response he got was nah not really boss. Perhaps he should have done more due diligence on Toney before he was sold, but I'm sure he had plenty to get on with, and didn't have the time to go watch Barnsley, Shrewsbury or Scunthorpe where Toney was on loan. Not much point thinking about it now, but when you consider how injury prone Wilson is, we really shot ourselves in the foot with that one.
-
Going by Howe's comments Fab has definitely jumped the gun. I haven't felt this betrayed since my first teenage disco. As for Wilson hopefully they're just being extra cautious given his history, but even if it does turn out to be a significant injury, the window is still open. It would have been far worse if he'd gotten a bad injury just after it had closed. It may mean switching targets, but I believe PIF won't leave us short if they can help it. Especially when we've just been so impressive against Man City.

Fuck the Telegraph. This is the perfect story for them to put out and then say, there we told you it would go through if they paid the extra 5m when the transfer goes through, with no proof whatsoever what they were saying was actually true. Any paper that hires chicken nonce is obviously not a proper paper.
-
Burt, Chicken Nonce and Hope should all be put in stocks and Romano should be allowed to throw rotten food at them if they've besmirched his good name.
-
Hope here to pour some lukewarm piss on our jubilation. Of course this tweet is perfect in terms of seeming to be really in the know, and when/if the deal goes through nobody can say he lied or didn't know what was happening.
-
In fairness MMXXVIII in the post before mentioned that Romano had made an update, I merely posted the tweet 😂 👍

That 10% sell on owed to Fluminense that another poster mentioned was probably the sticking point, which is probably why Watford are now getting a 10% sell on fee. Wilson having tight hamstring really brought into focus again, not that it needed to, how crucial it we have someone like Pedro in the squad.

Yeah but those stats are from Ligue 1. Maddison has proven himself in the PL which adds value obviously. Paqueta could very well come into the PL and replicate those stats or even improve upon them given he's still relatively young, then again he may not.
-
If those rumours are true I think it was always likely the case they we'd bid for Paqueta late in the window, if a late final bid for Maddison is rejected.
-
Going by the rumours it seems we might actually be after a centre mid given Shelvey's injury. His injury might turn out to be a blessing in disguise if we can get in a quality player tailormade for that position sitting in front of the defence. Bruno could get back to scaring the opposition shitless with his late runs into their box. No offence to Shelvey obviously, but he was always getting replaced at some point. Plus if he doesn't play those three games his contract doesn't get extended. We've had that Mexican lad off Ajax, Alvarez linked, and now some lad called Kone off Monchengladbach. My hope is that we know we're getting a loan off Chelsea most likely to cover the wide position, so Pedro and one of these two, or maybe even another unnamed centre mid, will be two permanents we get in.
-
No, again I just think the owners completely overshadow an attitude a single player could have, and lets face it there probably already are homophobic players in the squad. In any case we appear to be going round in circles here so I'll leave it at that. No offence meant on my part, I was just genuinely curious as to what your thinking was.
-
Yeah I don't know, I just don't understand the attitude of well I'll support the club even though the owners execute people for being gay, but if we sign homophobic players I'll really be upset. Whatever moral barometer there was at the club for gay people was broken with the new owners taking over, as in if you didn't decide to stop supporting the club because of that you never will. By your logic you'd still keep supporting the club, but be morally troubled, even if every player was homophobic, given the moral bad of that doesn't even come close to what our owners do. So again it seems pointless.
-
Don't you think the horse has somewhat bolted in that respect. As you say our owners are Saudi Arabia, a country where gay people are routinely put to death. It seems like pointless moral posturing to state that us signing a supposedly homophobic player, I haven't seen evidence of that but I'll take your word for it, would be even an extra drop in the bucket.
-
Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Sarr showed a lot of quality for a poor Watford team the two times they've been up since he's been at the club. 25m would be a decent price for him and he's still young and coachable at 24. He's only that cheap because he has a year or two on his contract. Villa will probably still sign him, I just thought it was funny that it's in slight danger of collapse going by the tweet.
-
My tits would be fully laughed off if we actually did nick him off Villa. He could just have heard about the ridiculous wages other Villa players are getting and wants parity, but it may also be the case that he's waiting for another club.
