1. N-O still running slow as fuck then? 65067 Aye, it's shit. Should be fixed later, then I'll be out your hair
2. Promotion with that lot was a miracle. Remember Burley had been at Ipswich for a number of years and had a great youth system that flooded his team with quality and hunger on tap almost. Don't get me wrong, he did a good job, a great one, but then so has McCarthy and none of us would have him here. Sorry Jimbo, he's a canny manager at Championship or SPL level but he would be an absolute cast iron certainty to fail at Newcastle. He has no proven record at all other than taking a side up who he had been at for a number of years, getting them into Europe, wasting 10m on crap, and then getting them relegated. Souness took Rovers up, got them into Europe twice, finished 6th and even won a Cup and while he had a bit more to spend, he also sold a lot too, the turnover of players was huge. To call for Souness' head and then promote Burley's name, well it's going from one extreme to another. I don't see anything in him that would even hint towards him being a success at Newcastle and that's simply because he isn't good enough and never will be, not at the level we are operating at. It would be a travesty, a bigger mistake than Souness, if he landed the Toon job. His teams play nice football, but hey, so did Ozzie Ardiles'. He picks youngsters, but hey so does Souness. He can get the best out of players, but hey, so can McCarthy. In a nut shell, he's shite. In my opinion of course and you are intitled to yours but the things you list as his qualities, are qualities most lower League managers have. Hell, even Souness must have those qualities looking at the job he did at Blackburn, he turned Duff into a 17m player, Friedel into one of the best 'keepers in the Premiership, Tugay into a decent Prem player, Matt Jansen and so on and so on. We'd be going from bad to worse or from bad to equally bad with Burley. 64884 Don't fucking patronise me, and don't infer that your opinion is a matter of fact because it isn't, ok ? 64886 Pick your dummy up man, there was nowt in it. Big tart

4. Rare? Most managers outside of the Premiership can do that. Mick McCarthy doon the road ring a bell? Sorry but he's shite. Not good enough for Newcastle. Championship or SPL is about his level. That and spirits. 64844 Have you been on the Jesus juice too ? 64850 Did thick Mick not improve a bunch of free transfers, youngsters and bargain bin signings and take them up into the Premiership? The thing you also claim Burley can do?
5. HTT, used, but in perfect condition. Comes fully kitted with a repertoire of wit, sophistication, dashing charm, reams of knowledge, insider info, and forum experience unmatched in Toon world. Downsides, talks shit, over reacts, likes an argument, uses too many words, can offend and doesn't come cheap. But guaranteed to breathe life into dying forums. Price? Negotiable. Reason for sale? Owner skint. Conditions? Every post must be followed by "top post", "great post", "I love you HTT", "N.O is Great" and at least one Shark discussion a week must take place. All yours, now, start the bidding. Don't rush all at once, one at a time, we don't want this server going down. Disclaimer: May fuck off when the Great N.O gets fixed.
6. SPAM... 64825 *suspends HTT's account for 24 hours* *Remembers Alex isn't here, so this place is likely to die without HTT's posts* *re-instates HTT's account* 64826 Alex getting his nails done then? 64836 HTT is fucking GREAT. 64858 I know. But thanks.
7. Aye, I'm the one you flirted with in every post, the one you kept sending THEM PM's to. Asking me if I'm good with shelfs.

9. I always thought those two were dikes.
10. I totally disagree, I think he would do a great job for us. 64835 Make a good manager of Shearers bar, aye. And they could always pay him in drink

12. Burley likes the hoy too much. Plus he's shit.
13. Nufc.nu (first independent Toon board on the web, although it had a previous name) become Howaythetoon.com (best Toon board on the web) which then merged with Toonchat and become Newcastle-Online.com (great site) Wacky's board above was initially set up as a temporary forum for users of the old HTT site when that got closed down but has since been left to rot with those members, coming back to Newcastle-Online.com when that got set up or now reside on here, like your goodself. In between there was also a Toon-Chat temp forum set up as the official Toon-Chat site kept going down where members of HTT resided for a while in cahoots with the smelly hosts (but canny), and we all left that to go to N.O when that was set up like one big family. Got that Wumin? PS We are all inter-bred mongs the lot of us.
14. I don't think anyone or anything can hold back a destructive character though.
15. You wan't Burley for the Toon job? Or are you saying you think Rangers will go for him?
16. Getting knocked out would be in our best interests as it takes away that caveat for the likes of Hitzfeld or LeGuen or whatever "top" foreign name they'd like ideally, ahead of Souness so I'm with you on that. Despite them being dirty, cheating, diving bastards.
17. A forum named in my honour, eh? Nah, LM told me about this a while back. Good luck with it fellas. Once this place dies, and ours dies, we'll need another forum
18. You're probably right, it has been nearly a year now, 4m in two 6 month installments? Who knows. This one has legs though and will come to a head in coming days/weeks I feel. Too many people, people in the know as well as the likes of Oliver , are alluding to this, at our end, Rangers end and even in the national media. As the saying goes... something has to give. He will definetly NOT be a Newcastle manager much longer, that is absolute certain. He'll either get the sack, walk or Rangers will pay up his contract.
19. I read it, strange as after the Chelsea game, the Journal were saying he should go, hypocrites. Says the man who said "give him time" but who now says "go Graeme"
20. Souness has of course denied it but it's true, Rangers have offered him an olive branch but he's holding out for some compensation while they are holding out for him to resign or get the sack so they themselves don't have to pay compensation. United meanwhile are hoping the Scottish club approach us so they can get some money out of it or, from what I'm told, be recompensated by wiping clean the remaining payment still owed on Boumsong as Souness will no doubt want to take his entire backroom staff with him too, meaning we'll have to pay for a new one on top of a new manager. This is why Rangers gave McLeish a review period of a month as they are aware of the Newcastle situation. Apparently their Chairman wants Souness back but a few directors want a top foreign name, Hitzfeld or Le Guen seem to be the names linked but if Souness was available, and for free, they'd go with him. The longer he remains a United manager though, they will be forced into looking elsewhere. Basically Graeme, fucking resign man, or... Newcastle, stop being cowards and sack him. And Rangers, typical stingey Scots
21. Poor Gazza, used once again. Time for him to ditch those 'mates' of his and sort himself out otherwise he really will go the way of George Best. With Best, football wasn't his drug, drink was. For Gazza however, it's both, he can't live without either of them and that, to a man troubled with personal problems, is a dangerous cocktail. I pitty him and feel for him. Quite tragic really.
22. As I see it, he's basically saying "you'll have to sack me" with his "I won't resign" comments. Must be short of a few bob. He looks resigned to his fate in my opinion, his body language and use of words "they", "them" etc. and not "my", "we", "us" as per usual is a clear indication of that (for me anyway). And out in the dugout, he's just sat on his arse during the last 3 games or so doing nothing. He's also stopped defending the team and trying to justify himself, he's now defending himself and talking about life away from football. As for his 'attack' on the fans (I read it as an 'attack' on the local media more than anything), could well be his way of trying to force the club into making a quicker decision. If you criticise the fans at this club, and alienate them further, you're looking for trouble. We all know he likes a challenge... Interestingly, Oliver keeps hinting of a move to Rangers which he has now denied (a lie), which could be interpreted as the club trying to make his job untenable, pushing him into handing in his notice? Who knows with United, it's one saga after another. Should all be concluded soon enough however, one way or another. He's a dead man walking.
23. With England, he was always going to be on a loser there, wrong manager, wrong time. He took over when England were going through a transitional period, half the team were coming to the end of their international careers, the other half just breaking through. Everyone expected KK to replicate what he did at Newcastle. Basically he was on a hiding to nothing and fair play to him for holding his hands up live on telly and saying "hey, I'm not good enough at this moment in time". Many would have just stayed on, not KK. He's too honest. As for the Man City job, had it been another name who took them up, consolidated and then left them in good shape, that name would have been hailed by many. But because it's KK, he failed. Did he heck as like, he has given Man City something they haven't had for 10-15 years - Premiership consolidation. People point to the money he spent, he recouped most of that back and in Wright-Phillips, it was Keegan who turned him around, the player admits as much himself. Following his sale, you could say KK's net spending was zero, he's actually in profit. I see no difference in the job KK did at Man City than the one Curbishley has done at Charlton or what O'Neill did at Leicester. That club was very much like Newcastle. Going nowhere fast. He's a miracle worker and a much better manager than people give him credit form, certainly better than the likes of Souness and as for his methods being outdated, he's one of the most progressive thinkers in the game, what some are doing now, he was doing 10 years ago at Newcastle. Couldn't agree more, if we don't get it right this time, we never will and those trusted with getting it right can fuck off with Souness if they don't at least attempt to bring in a manager that has the qualities we need.
