Minimum unit pricing and not having 24h licencing laws did some of this north of the border. Can't say I noticed it make any difference to the amount people drink if I'm honest but concede I have nothing to back that up with. Only thing I did notice is that it did away with cheap supermarket own brand spirits and shit like Frosty Jacks and White Lightening, since they could no longer price themselves significantly cheaper than stuff like Famous Grouse or Strongbow. I don't imagine that the majority of folk who were regularly buying that pish just started drinking less as a result. Saying that, I have noticed younger generations seem to have a far more negative view of alcohol here, hopefully thats through better education and not just from them all having pisshead parents while growing up.

Good on you Tom. A (debatably) wise man once said alcohol can be a good servant but is a terrible master. My drinking hit a higher gear when I stopped smoking weed and then ramped up further during the pandemic lockdown. Toned it down a little since quitting the ciggies but it's still probably excessive. Similar affair tonight. Sold out, absolutely rammed tiny venue, sweat dripping off ceiling but everyone respecting each others space. Weird bunch Carcass fans but the band were in good form. Bill is a god-tier guitarist in my book. I'm still convinced he's a lefty, but either way he's a blues guy that carved out some extreme metal sub-genres and deserves a lot more credit and recognition.

Yup..get a better USB adaptor CT. Most of the cheap ones on Amazon actually even say 10 / 100Mbps in the title. That or just live with WiFi. 200-300 is plenty. If you're suffering loads of dropouts in video calls and stuff like that it's likely frequency band congestion. You should be able to check what band you and your neighbours are all using for their WiFi with a mobile app, and if your lucky your ISP will let you change which band yours is on in the admin panel so you can choose the least congested one in the immediate vacinity of your house.

Those live clips are great man. Some of those leads are wild. Decent drummers are hard to find and worth their weight in gold man. Weird that despite playing guitar and knowing very little about drums Ive probably got a bigger list of favourite drummers.

Ha, fucking hell not sure how you managed to resist. Fair play. Last time I was in a studio I most definitely didn't behave. Had a few before (Tucher, I distinctly recall being surprised that the nearest boozer to the studio even had it), went to get cans when they were tracking drums and completely phoned-in my takes so I could fuck off back to the pub as quickly as possible. Phoned-in is probably understating it too tbh. I didn't even check the sound of takes from the control room. In my defence I was just filling in for a local punk band who were completely underprepared for recording and all more pissed than me.

There's always a chance. I was just looking at the Liverpool bench and concluded they've not go anyone (bar maybe Jota) if this goes tits up and they need to change the game. I'm no putting any money on it but there's always a chance. Say Gakpo has a mare and Diaz aggravates that injury again they've no real options unless the games already won.
