  2. I've scored some class goals with my shoulder like and other times been penalised for exactly the same thing. If you see someone doing keepy ups with their head and shoulders, (like Pele in Escape to Victory) that's not handball, but if you use your shoulder in the same way during a match it'll usually get given as a foul. It's a ball ache like as I can direct passes and all sorts with my shoulder, it's a mint addition to the repertoire.
  3. Moyes has had little to spend the last year or two, but he also has an established Premier League squad which wasn't built with buttons. He's averaged a spend of £12m a season over his ten years. He got £20m 3 years running while we were getting relegated, and £30m a little before that. I think their poor start has made their current position look relatively good, but they're basically where they've been the last few years. Not that I've got any great love for Everton or like to see them do well, but Moyes is worth his weight in glod iyam. Consistent well placed finishes. He doesn't preside over Championship transfer funds by any means but it's about as lean as a 'serious' Prem side can get, and he's continued to get them up there year after year. That's the thing with over performing teams, it's about momentum-somehow he's kept that momentum going over years rather than months. That said their piss poor start to most seasons has to count against him to a degree by now too.
  4. Deliberate or not if he gains an advantage which he does by redirecting the ball the ref can give that as a free kick which negates Simpsons. It has to be 'deliberate' on the black letter law, although that's often honoured more in the breach than the observance.
  5. Havent seen the slo mo, but the question would be was Carroll's arm deliberate? If it wasn't then it goes back to Simpson, who's definitely was. Then just becomes a question of the physical anatomy of handball.
  6. Fair enough. S'pose I was baying for my pound of flesh and Murray didn't quite deliver. It's 18 months of consuming myself with: what happened to the Carroll millions?
  7. I'm not arsed on balance like as Simpson's would have been a penalty and red on another day and a completely different outcome. That's not to say it definitely was (as you can visit any number of refereeing forums to see them debate what part of the arm/shoulder amounts to 'hand ball' without ever resolving it definitively), but it definitely would have been given more often than not.
  8. Couldn't believe nobody just called that for what it was like. ie a blatant simulation as he waited to be tripped by Krul. All the MOTD studio toeing the party line just so as not to contradict Dalglish as he peddled his: 'lost his footing' dogshit. Tbf Murray was quite adamant that it was a dive. Feel sorry for him, ffs. KSA is bang on the money. I was at work yesterday, I had one old bloke with a perforated bowel, flooding his insides with shit, arrest as we put him under. We worked on him for an hour, getting him back only for him to arrest again another three times, before deciding that he would not survive this overwhelming physiological insult and to cease our attempts. At which point the crash bleep went off, and I sprinted to the other side of the hospital to attempt to resuscitate a man who'd vomitted a collossal and as it turned out lethal amount of foul-smelling, partially digested blood everywhere. Meanwhile, further north, some millionaire cunt was a bit cross because abandoning his supposedly boyhood club for money and glory didn't go so well yesterday. No, I don't feel sorry for him. The allegation which should have been levelled at the king of the gypsies, and which wasn't, is 'con'. From what I recall, Murray seemed to accept there was no contact and then threw the emphasis onto how he basically passed up a cast iron chance of scoring by going down. ie all examined in the altogether more sympathetic context of how his antics were prejudicial to Liverpool's result. They undoubtedly were, but the point is, what it blatantly was was a con to try to get a pelanty. Two quite separate things.

  10. Would love to see the interviewer do that to Dalglish when they eventually win a game like. Mid-answer and just walks off with his mic.
  11. Was gonna say like, I don't see much comparison between the two of them at all apart from their wide starting positions. Bellamy was immense for us but Pleat sums it up well there; he runs things down at a million miles an hour but thats nothing like what Ben Arfa does. Hatem picks the ball up himself and comes inside, at which point it instantly becomes a 360 degree game, with tackles coming at you from all angles. He carries it, draws the attempted tackle and beats a man, whereas Bellamy legs it after the ball with chalk on his boots and doesn't actually have to take anyone apart from when hurdling the odd sliding tackle coming at him from one side alone.
  12. Stunning! Like a young Burt Reynolds!
  13. These rates are wrong at a time when negotiations are ongoing. Parents and the public have been let down by both sides because the local authority has acted in a reckless and provocative manner. I urge both sides to put aside the rhetoric and get around the negotiating table.
  14. Aye, that place is decent even when it's just average weather so I can only imagine what it must've been like today.
  15. Oh I am having that avatar.
  16. He's a gimp, he's not good enough for NUFC and he knows it. He's good in the air, absolutely shite at everything else. You're spot on like, he knows he's not good enough to be fair to him-his post match interview he basically almost said as much. When asked if he could believe the season we were having he basically answered something along the lines that he could barely believe he was playing in the Premier League and that spoke volumes for me. We've got some decent players milling about the place now and it must be massively apparent to him he's playing above his level.
  17. Increasingly taking the view we just need to get in a big first rate athlete alongside Colo now, particularly if we're keeping hold of him for the next few years. Getting into his 30's he needs a big athlete to neutralise the athletic forward line threat (theres far more of these knocking about the Prem than there are actual talented finishers), while he uses his judgment and mops up using actual footballing nous. For all the highs and lows this season (net being very, very positive), this is a position we've scrimped on. The major thing has obviously been to get Colo signed up to a new deal but Willo is an absolute liability at this level and has and will continue to cost us points as long as he gets starts. S Taylor has come on immeasurably alongside Colo despite being in my mind nothing more than a relatively average PL centre half but Willo is a bridge too far as his limitations sadly just cant be dragged up far enough by Colo to meet the basic required standard of acceptability. As I say, for me a decent athlete is the priority and for that reason it shouldn't be a massive ask as far as recruitment is concerned; theres dozens of them about and very few Colo's.
  18. He can carry it from the centre circle to the edge of the opponent's box. Sometimes deeper. Teams pour over formations and strategise all week, but that type of ability makes a mockery of game plans in an instant. It terrifies the opposition.
  19. Absolute mint. A team of players with a blatantly clear desire to play for the football club and each with a point to prove. As it absolutely always should be. Nothing personal as they were all good players for us, but really good to see Enrique and Carroll below us, Joey Barton hopefully getting relegated and Kevin Nolan not coming back up with his dildo millions.
