  1. They could perhaps wile away the small hours building little Belgrano models and have sing songs about Peron. The 'Belgrano Defence'. An actual phrase used in legal circles when arguing you hit someone before they hit you first, as used by celebrated Scouse liar Steven Gerrard.
  2. never reaching the end, Letters I've written, never meaning to send.
  3. Are you on about that episode of Spender btw? Aye, spotters badge! Keegan must have been appointed only a couple weeks after that episode looking back.
  4. Typing with one hand aloft a pool of molten metal, like the end scene of T2.
  5. I think you've probably got a strong point about systems Chez but Obertan needs to offer a bit more than pace alone tbf. It is a big weakness atm.
  6. I've honestly no idea re:wages, though I'd be inclined to agree on transfer fee as they'd want big money. All I'd say if I was trying to get blood out of a stone (ie Ashley) is it'd be the only chance we had to get him because I don't think the top four will be in for him in that window. Just wishing out loud really of course, but I honestly think those couple of additions could have a big impact while still being generally consistent with a cautious build, knowing Pardew'll never have big money to spend. What's happenned with Kadar anyway is he totally shit now or what? Well he's out of contract at the end of the season so I'm guessing he's not in the plans as he hasn't even been on the bench afaik. Also, he would've been (you'd have thought) a natural one to try out at LB pre-season given Enrique's future being in doubt etc. I'm guessing he's a goner. Aye, he's firmly in the 'if he's good enough he's old enough' category now as he's 21. He doesn't represent an argument against buying new either (eg 'give Kadar a chance') as he's not making the squad as you say. The only thing that might mean he stays put is his supposed utility LB/CB, but really you should be able to say that about most CB's when push comes to shove.

  8. My (what I believe isn't asking for too much) hope is: Centre back - Samba (Blackburn) Striker - (decent loan signing). Back four then = Santon to play RB and Ferguson can come in LB for me because Guti cover/workrate down that flank is a big factor. I realise Samba is Blackburbn captain/recently signed a new deal/could go to a 'better' club etc etc etc, but injuries aside, I just don't see the January window as being where the top teams will be tinkering with their defences and looking for a new CB linchpin. That with an imaginitive loan signing up front would be a very strong starting 11 for me. That assumes no key departures of course, which is far, far from guaranteed.
  9. And as if his squad wasn't thin enough to begin with he had his star striker kidnapped.
  10. I always felt sorry for Ozzie in as much as he had no cash at all to bring anyone in, meaning his options were severely limited to what we already had. When he actually paid money to re-commence a worklng relationship with Kevin Scott though I started to think it was probably for the best he never saw penny one with us in the first place.
  11. I first seriously hated the fuckers when my favourite players as a kid went to them (Sir Les & Ginola). One of the main reasons i can't fucking stand Dalglish either. Perma-grinning cunt of a man. Although sometimes I think to myself why do I hate spuds so much, surely i've matured since I was a toddler? But then I see footage of Harry Redknapp, the fact VDV is playing for them (great player, should be at a worthy CL team), the frank dislikability of the players and that super wank slowed down marching in song they sing every game. I'm just glad the deluded fucks will be back to mid table obscurity when Redknapp gets the England job. "Little teams" ffs. Aye, little team that you've a piss poor record against. Repeated a cycle of 10 years previous an all with Waddle and Gazza. At least we managed to flog them Kevin Scott in between.
  12. First goal was pretty awful, but behind twice against a very good team and battled back each time I'm happy with that. Spurs are clearly a step above us in terms of playing personnel, so all you can ask for in those situations is the spirit and fight to level things out and that's exactly what we showed. Ben Arfa clearly still well off the pace when he came on but the value of his sub can't be underestimated iyam-it allowed us to run at them with the ball in the last phase instead of just hoofing it hopefully looking for the equaliser. Colo/Krul/Jonas/Tiote/Raylor really good games. Saylor the trademark type of error (as Wolves) which means he's never a top defender, but the blame was on Cabaye anyway for getting caught in possession, so not really worth dwelling on more than that. Plus theres no better replacement for him anyway. Obertan and Simpson on the other hand need to be looking over their shoulders now-time for their contributions to be from the bench. I'd maybe give Obertan the first half against Wigan just to see if he fancies it, but if he can't muster the desire that's being shown around him then he can't have any complaints if he makes way.
  13. It's a very good point though, you want a right chest beater for an anthem imo. Contrast GSTQ to the Welsh anthem-not a rugby fan to speak of but when you hear them belt that out it pisses on anyone elses for me. France's is class too.
  14. Fair result that. How much of a wanker is Evra btw?
  15. Has looked like their best creative player and their main defensive concern all in one so far today.
  16. No but he has proved once this week that he lets outside events affect his temperament on the pitch. Yeah that I'd agree with. In other words he's easily got at which would have been the case today from the off. Anyway good decision so far despite the disingenuous reasoning, Liverpool kept at bay and a hell of a combo to be able to bring of the bench second half. Easily a step up on what they've got on the pitch at the moment.
  17. Load of old shite this so far.
  18. Load of claptrap though, Rooney's not a confidence player.
  19. COME ON YOU SCOUSE BASTARDS!!!!!11ONE11!!
  20. You don't wash your hands in Houghton and Sunderland South and they elect you MP.
  21. Like the front row of pub football team photos.
  22. Aka the: 'pants-on-straight-down-the-trouser-leg' Hugely skillful and few practitioners left due to high levels falls stood precariously on the toilet seat.
  23. But surely to properly reveal all aspects of the matter in hand one would have to perform a tricky switch to the other set of wheels at some point? A Dukes of Hazzard style jump over the lake approach is more convenient, not to mention thrilling. You're forgetting that Scott has assisted toilet visits. His albino eyebrows qualify him for full DLA.
