Yeah nothing should block Ferguson's progress tbh. He shouldn't have any competition for his position at all and should swan into the side. That's how the top teams do it. -

Aeris, what's with the fake hand? It looks like you've fallen asleep on it. -
I've always found his 'brand' of humour quite appealing and I think he's very spontaneous-funny, but isn't he supposed to be an appallingly massive twat in real life? Hard to accept after first seeing him with Mikita Oliver as I thought they were really class for young presenters.

More good stuff. Nicely summed up.

Well said, Chayton.

Technically speaking the doctor was committing a criminal offence the second he ran onto the pitch as this is illegal in all English professional football stadiums and punishable with a banning order. For all Muamba's talk of miracles, he was actually engaging with a known criminal while he was in the act of perpetrating his crime, so you'll excuse me if I say that it all leaves a bit of a sour taste. That's just a criminal lawyers view and I accept it might not be a popular one.

Was gonna say, I'm pretty sure Prem football has all manner of medical safeguards like the ones you mention. Especially if one of the above docs was anatheist.
-
Danny 'Arsenio Hall' Wellbeck? Is this some sort of sick joke?
-
Without getting into the whole 'miracle' debate, it's probably at least fair to say that the 'luck' angle has been marginally overstated. I mean if you're going to have a heart attack, if it's not in a hospital, the next best place is probably at work in the middle of 40,000 people. I mean statistically at least one of them is likely to be a doctor. They're not that rare surely?

Whatever the explanation, they can go and fuck themselves.

Sunday aggro, hello

Tbf you don't look great for 33 HF, so maybe he's having a pop at you in other ways.

Really gratifying to see it confirmed that Liverpool can now no longer finish above us. No animosity towards Enrique at all as he was a good servant for us and he'll end the season with an FA Cup winners medal (and historically NUFC simply can't offer that to players in modern football so fair enough), however he specifically said he wanted to play CL so if we did finish top 4 this time around with them absolutely nowhere near it'd be utterly delicious.
-
Btw is there any chance this can now replace us against the murderers as "the greatest game in history" © please. With highlights shown every year to replace the sight of wifebeater Collymore getting mobbed at the Kop end nigh on 20 years ago. It might well be every bit as decisive in the outcome of a title too, so fucking get it sorted, Sky.

"remarkable" *David Coleman*

So who actually thinks we will finish 4th?

This is the key thing for me. Also, picking up on what CT said, the fact we ground out results initially and now we're winning with greater flair is massively gratifying and a huge bonus but at the same time it's not a complete mystery. It's absolutely reflective of and consistent with what Pardew's been about in his approach generally imo. The first thing has always been: make us difficult to beat. Don't lose games before you've even started. We are absolute past masters at losing a game before it's began because far too often we've been about millionaire dickheads trading on their egos and former glories rather than doing what the genuinely top teams do and putting their reputations on the line every second, with nowhere to hide, in order to win every game. So to start with that was the focus for us. Lots of people didnt like it because we were only just 'scraping' past what are generally considered to be the lesser teams, Ben Arfa wasn't being favoured etc etc. It served a purpose though and it galvanized us and was absolutely right. Then as the season has progressed, when we'd dealt with absolute primary issues such as accumulating enough points to avoid relegation, bought in an additional striker of quality when those circumstances have permitted etc etc, we've been allowed to play a bit more and in the last stretch of games that's really come into it's own and been phenomenal to see. Seen over the course of a season though, it just mirrors exactly how we approach and set up for games individually imo. First off: don't lose. As the game (season) progresses, try to build and allow yourself to be that bit more adventurous looking for the win. Where it's been completely unexpected is the fact that I don't think any of us imagined the squad could sustain us to even this stage, being as it doesnt have the greatest depth of quality. What was always completely unfair though and really denegrated the teams efforts at the start of the season was people peddling an agenda by banging on about our 'easy' start. Going back to your initial point Baggio, the start did involve a relatively favourable sequence of games, but we would have absolutely made it our business to piss that opportunity up the wall in the past due to sheer complacency and lack of commitment. This time we didn't and that was entirely down to the attitude, approach and efforts of the team and manager. We beat the teams we should be beating for a change. That gave us a great platform to build on for the season. This is now a late surge and it's been assisted by other teams dropping points and falling away but that's not out of the ordinary either. We still don't know where it'll end but we've been up at the right end all season and that deserves all the recognition going. Continuing to sustain progress is a massive (and ongoing) task and despite a lot of the guff that gets spouted about 'the past', as Toonpack adroitly pointed out, it's actually been very very rare for NUFC to build on it's former high placed league positions season on season even when we were outspending everyone. So the challenge is massive but I'm glad the focus and sole strategy isn't simply just to throw money at it anymore because that's only ever apeing what the top teams do-in fact what they really do is a lot more and all down to the demands they place on their players. Don't get me wrong, this now is a team that absolutely demands continued, strategic investment, but it's also a set up that demands patience and a modicum of understanding in recognition of it's achievements this season, because above all else it's a team to be proud of for the first time in fucking years. -
We've all tried man. This has been going on for years. There's something fundamentally wrong with you. The very fucking notion that we'd "start complaining if he didn't answer questions" We'd be overjoyed ffs.

***Official Mike Ashley Euro express thread***

Some fair points there from team negatives most prominent bully, if I can avoid using polarising labels for one moment. -
LM's argument essentially scans: In seasons when you've got 'surplus' cash from a transfer deal - base every single argument on strong income levels and advocate spending literally every last penny of it on replacements otherwise you're not progressive. In seasons when you're in massive debt because your outgoings are far greater than your incomings - completely ignore any arguments about your inadequate income levels (income is of no consequence when the turnover is 14th highest in football you imbeciles) and keep spending money regardless of where its from (the club are one of the big boys and any bank manager will accept this statement as security for further loans). In absolutely all scenarios, bang on endlessly about potential and size of the club as this automatically levels the playing field with bigger (Man U, Liverpool, Arse) or bankrolled (City, Chelsea) clubs and once again bank managers will accept this statement as security for further loans. Attack anyone who's not utterly won over by this sustainable vision for refinancing the club as: "Ashley apologists", "happy to compete with Bolton" and "utter chums" Repeat ad nauseum. He basically just needs to come out and say what he's always wanted to say which is that he wants the club bankrolled again to play casino football with Chelsea and City. Nowt wrong with that as a statement of desire, I'm sure most people would like Messi here, but at the end of the day thats all it is. He hasn't, as he seems to think, underpinned it with rational argument nor has he put forward anything approaching a blueprint for doing it off the clubs natural resources. Quite the opposite. What he wants needs bankrolling and he knows it the sad old clot. He just needs to be honest about it and stop wasting everyone's time and making himself look like a shambles.

Fucking class. He's gone into overdrive recently, and sadly it's prompted self-examination amongst some quality posters, with: 'why do I post here?' becoming the all too common refrain. Well for me, posts like that from KSA (amongst others) are why it's worth putting up with the old dickhead. You have to laugh at him. He posts utter, non stop and endless shite but there are always magnificently entertaining posters on hand to send it up for the bollocks it is. TT always the only forum for NUFC.

who mentioned Stoke ? First year back you complete and utter imbecile - another example of your cherry picking cuntishness and you wonder why people think you aren't worth bothering with. Her's an idea - go and look up "context" and then fuck off. Absolutely beggars belief, this half wit.
