  1. Pick up Ian, I want to speak to the Ass secretary.
  2. 100% Irish Someone dial his mobile number off the Percy Main site and put that theory to the test. If he sounds like Brad Pitt off Snatch, it's all good.
  3. And in terms of applying that to incomings on the other hand, effectively you can never "spend the Carroll £35 million" because 3 x £12 million players (or whatever) would automatically assume they should be on £60 or £70 odd grand a week minimum. That type of player therefore becomes a non-target. So basically it's got to be cheap whatever he does and we keep seeing players leave for non footballing reasons (or counter intuitive footballing reasons) until the entire team belongs to the cheaper model. Collo's the last of the huge earners I believe, so it continues until then I guess. Economics aside, the footballing risk of that strategy is obvious.
  4. Thing is I think most people basically anticipated the events of this close season, it's just they remain hard to take when they happen. The ones on the chopping block are the ones who belong to the big spending era, there's no other criterion at work other than that. He won't renew big wage earners contracts because to do that means he can't go offering modest salaries to new recruits. Incomers will be aware there are people on big money at the club but he needs to be in a position to say those contracts are a historical relic and no longer on offer. If he departs from that script he knows he cant flannel Johnny Frog with a two bob a week offer. At the very best, the likes of Barton and Enrique might exceptionally have been awarded new deals which were on a par with their last deal, but they, being no different to any other type of player, would have been wanting improved terms, regardless of what they say via Twitter. So it had to happen (and sadly it still has to happen in the case of Enrique), but it's still a fucking kick in the teeth when it does. Particularly when it happens in circumstances where a player of such intrinsic importance ends up listed on a free-which at the risk of pointing out the obvious, doesn't even fit with the Ashley transfer profiteering model.
  5. That being 3 games and 9 points into the season, as though those fixtures don't count for anything. The cock end.
  6. Many of us are disappointingly naive. As usual it's the puffs getting the shitty end of the stick. For shame, Deadman.
  7. Saddle up for the latest shitstorm.
  8. Agree with much of that, but would add the codicil * reach and remain in the Champions League. ie you can spend to reach the Champs League, but if you only get there once and fail to repeat that the following season, you can have committed yourself to several years worth of Champs League expenditure (contractually) without the Champs League income. Leeds being the most obvious example. That's not to defeat your overall point, but it needs flagging up for completeness. It's a fucking expensive club to enter these days too btw, much more so than in seasons of yore. Obviously it's common ground that he's not prepared to finance a Champs League push anyway though.
  9. I love it how you think that offends us. I love the way I speak. Much rather sound like I do than speak like someone form Newcastle. Possibly the most god awful sounding accent to disgrace the english language. To be honest when you lot speak it just sounds like someone has took a dyslexic, fed him shit loads of ket and shoved a golf ball in his gob. Are "yeey" takkin the peess? Mackem is a horrible accent. You can sound quite intelligent with a geordie accent, look at Spender, but mackem you automatically just think what a thick bunch of downtrodden tramps, horrible accent to listen to. As soon as I hear a mackem accent, I take the piss or I want to, that's how bad it is. There's not many famous mackems because they're victims of their environment and the mackem downtrodden acceptance of mediocrity ethic. Kate Adie fucked off when she 15, and Olive who sung "you're not alone did the same", there's nobody else really is there? The OP was worth it just for that pearl. Quality.
  10. Well that's me thoroughly wound up for the day and no mistake.

Giraffidae would refuse to debate it because all it is, is a right wing rag trying to manifest racial hatred over a masonic nation. well, there's always one or two that think "aliens done it" or something equally sensible, especially on the internet please tell me there's a working machine gun under that Fires up to 1200 rinds per minute.

It was taken from a national newspaper this morning you stupidest of cunts. As LM said though pointless me putting it up, it's only one or two of them what harm can it do? yeh and it takes somebody with your history to post it doesn’t it. and revert to kind with keyboard warrior abuse to get your point across, classy as ever. Did they hand pick you as a typical stereotype? Expand on my history you fucking cock. Utter bell end, with your empty statements, back up your pathetic insuations by meeting me face to face. If you're not prepared to do it you are the keyboard warrior, I'll let you expand on anything you want face to face. And I’m a keyboard warrior — hilarious! you have a history of posting vile EDL propaganda including their pics on this board, which I’ve pointed out to you previously. This is more of the same. What is pathetic about me challenging your behaviour? What was the point of starting this thread? why start any thread ? Why not ? Its in the "General" section ? It's the correct section, so what's wrong with it ? this ‘story’ started as right wing propaganda, picked up by the Daily Mail (who have similar editorial views) and should be clearly treated for what it is — right wing propaganda to spread hatred. If that‘s what you want to post then you should expect it to be challenged. Regardless of the press motives for publishing the story, if you're disputing the basic fact of it (and there are direct quotes), you're either deluded or dishonest. Either way you can have nothing to contribute to a sensible debate tbh.

Definitely agree with this, living fairly close to Luton (thankfully far enough away) you do see it go on but unfortunately not enough. I think a fair amount speak out against the BNP and EDL so it would help if the majority of Muslims who aren't mentalists spoke up a bit more through various religious/group leaders. People like this need to be ridiculed so impressionable youngsters don't get drawn in. That said an unfortunate amount of people were starting to think the BNP were worth a vote because it would be better than Labour/Tories and some of their 'majority friendly' policies sounded quite good I agree with that too for the most part. The trouble is I genuinely don't know how in practice you're able to keep coming out as a community to dissociate yourself from and publically reject Islamic extremism each time it occurs though, when you think it can often be just one dickhead voice. That said, as much as it might place a burdensome onus on right-minded Muslims, it's one they need to get to grips with because it can only be done with that sort of co-operation and taking the lead.

I agree fwiw. I think it's not only right that that happens (broadly speaking), but that it is happening. That's the experience of most UK Muslims. At the same time, in my opinion, that's what causes the conflict in the likes of Choudhury and his small band of tits; far more so than some nonsensical enforced Muslim conversion course for Joe Bloggs at any rate. That's just a headline grabbing publicity stunt (which works far too easily a lot of the time). Theres a generational debate going on within the British Muslim community and it's a bit of a shame the way the papers treat certain 'stories' because for the most part if you chat to Muslim mates it's a genuine, mainly family based issue that all 'foreign' cultures have at some time and which individuals handle to massively different degrees of success. The tension is that the younger generation are essentially Westerners. That's the trend, rather than extremism. Terrorism and extremism is real and I'm not looking to put any flannel on that, but I honestly think if the tensions within the Muslim community were better understood (and the media has a part to play in that) you'd probably get less people turning to radical politics in the first place.

Oh and the "Fuck off to Afghanistan then" comments are a perfectly apposite response before I get accused of being a naive namby pamby do-gooder, but even better would just be to ignore the daft cunt imho.

The thing is though, what you really have to remember with this bunch of bell helmets when they start doing dickish things like this, the bottom line is before they start shoving Islamic dogma down your average whitey's throat (which'll never work anyway) they have to admit that a massive proportion of male UK Muslims flaunt Shariah law in any event. It's a separate debate to an extent, but the press love this sort of stuff because it goes down well with the 'we bend over backwards to accommodate them' 'Britain is turning into Pakistan' rhetoric when the reality is generally speaking, UK Muslims (amongst others) are far more Westernised as a result of living here than the indigenous Briton has become 'Muslimised' by waves of immigration and multiculturalism. OK we've got loads of curry houses on the high street now but you can't tell me your average white Briton is praying to Mecca 5 times a day just because his taste buds have changed a bit. And openness and acceptance of other cultures is a traditional (modern) British value anyway, so some things will look a bit different to how they looked thirty years ago. That's the sort of country we live in. This lot genuinely are a lunatic bunch with far more worries about 'their own' leaving what they regard as Islam than harbouring serious intentions of turning Britain into a Sharia state. Seriously though, he must get millions of £'s free publicity that muppet, when really, as long as the authorities are monitoring him, he should probably largely be ignored by the press.
