  1. I resigned myself to the idea of losing him long ago. I've already half prepared myself for the same situation to occur again with someone like Cabella in a couple of years time. That solo effort against Bolton When will we next have a player who'll be capable of doing anything like that? Just happy I got to see someone like this at NUFC, especially under someone as dross as Pardew.
  2. Would put it past our lot to be honest.
  3. Must suck to be a Southampton fan right now. So much promise disappearing right before their eyes. They've come through a lot in recent years too. How much is the Rodriguez fee supposed to be? Cant seem to find a quote. Quality player imo, worth a go at around 15M.
  4. Aye Rayvin you dont seem to know just how strong a political lobby Israel has in the US. Think Parky posted an article about it somewhere above. Lets just say the chances of the US standing up to Israel are as much as Pardew telling Ashley to piss off with his policies and hand him a 100M kitty
  5. If you've been reading the previous pages you'll know I clearly stated what they do in targeting civilians is wrong. Its just that I can understand their desperation to a certain extent. 60 years of torture. Im not sure what I would do in the same circumstances.
  6. Israel's retaliation From my point of view what Hamas does is retaliation. Already tried explaining it. Cant really be helped if people still think Israel is somehow the victim here. Fish, why do the Israeli people allow their government to occupy and blockade land that doesnt belong to them knowing full well the effect its having on the Palestinians? I dont know what this line of reasoning is supposed to lead to. Its probably safe to say most people in the world have little say in what their governments do.
  7. Aye the Grenier rumours are coming along strong now. Hope you're wrong about Sissoko, but we'd certainly be overstaffed in the midfield department if he came along. Dont know why we're just not in for a CB instead.
  8. I'd have Williamson ahead of both of them. Ben Arfa is not likely to be anywhere near the first team come the new season.
  9. Anything apart from that horrid Gareth Bale heart gesture is fine.
  10. Aye I know, they still carry out drone strikes in Pakistan. Sometimes at weddings and at schools. Fact they openly come out and defiantly say its ok though is just sick.
  11. Aye, the map with the UK above help explains it too. What would you do? Just watch your land disappear? Restrict someone to the attic of their house, stop them from getting supplies in or going outside, enjoy the rest of the house meanwhile, occasionally murder one of their kids and then cry foul when they try and land a punch on your face. Its ridiculous Anyone watch that clip where a student asks Obama why we're still supporting Israel given the war crimes? Obama is stunned for a while, lots of umms and oohs for a minute or two. Dont think he expected anyone to ask him that. Then he goes onto say because Israel is a key ally he will continue to extend them support, and then a long winded answer about looking for some sort of solution. Nothing on the humanitarian crises which was the question. What really struck me about this is the shocking logic here, if someone is an ally you continue to support them no matter what they do? Including murder 100 hundreds of kids? What sort of principle is that and what sort of the message does that send out? It was one of the most shocking, brutal and disgusting things I've ever heard any elected leader say and believe me thats saying something considering the level of scum we have down here. If anyone's interested I'll try and look for the clip.
  12. We ought to be looking for a CB even if Mapou stays imo. Offload Taylor if you must. Colo's form last season was questionable. Willo is always prone to imploding. We could have a top 5 attack but we'd struggle with these at the back. Someone decent to come in and form a decent partnership along the likes of Janmaat and Santon(hopefully) would be great.
  13. The one good thing happening because of social media now is the unprecedented level of public concern and critique of the world powers and UN over this issue. They're going to be left with a good bit of egg on their face. Cant view Youtube from here but I assume the link Gemmill posted above is appeal of support from Jon Snow? Lot of journos been doing good work. Forgot the name of that journalist from CNN who was kicked out because she had a go on twitter at the people sitting eating popcorn and cheering the rocket attacks from behind Israeli lines.
  14. Aye like I said firing rockets that could hit civilians is wrong but its a very very difficult situation for Hamas for reasons already discussed. As far as Israel is concerned they're committing one war crime after another on top of their illegal occupation and blockade. Nobody bats an eyelid. If this was Iran the US and UN would have been in an uproar. The hypocrisy is criminal and it just takes you back to the Osama bin Laden logic posted in an article above. You have to wonder how long before all this completely blows up in someone's face. When you drive people to this level of desperation then something will give sooner or late. What view of this world will the children that survive Gaza grow up with? How many Bin Laden's have been born this past few weeks?
  15. We still havent spent anywhere near as much as we could or should. Even if you make peace with the fact that its the way Ashley works we still ought to go out and spend 15M on a proven goalscorer within that model.
  16. Firstly, correct me if Im wrong but I think a ceasefire was agreed starting at 2PM local time, but the both parties kept the onslaught going until that time. Israel pounded Gaza with air strikes and artillery upto 10 minutes before the time. What Hamas does is wrong. Do tell me how you'd feel though if this happened to the UK: I dare say a few people would want to fire a couple of rockets back in. Some people keep pretending this is a conflict that started when Hamas developed a penchant for fireworks. Also, six times as many Palestinians have been killed over the last 72 hours than all projectiles fired at Israel have killed in 13 years. Also, its a fucking pathetic excuse to murder kids and other civilians who have absolutely nowhere to run to or protect themselves. Over 1000 dead and 6000+ injured, many of them critically. Yet its the Palestinians that have to justify their actions to some people. What a joke.
  17. Yup there really hasnt been anything exciting lately. They're just increasing the megapixels and number of processors at the moment. 4G is the real upgrade Im looking forward to too in the coming future.
  18. I bet they're too busy pulling their families out of rubble to be honest.
  19. Thing is with another 2-3 good players we could have a great squad. But I dont expect Ashley to go for that. He'll sign a striker probably but thats about it. It'll be infuriating, being on the verge of something potentially great but afraid to take the next step. Much like the summer we finished 5th. People saying we'd be relegation fodder at the end of May were being dramatic. The fat man has learned to at least invest enough to keep us away from that sort of trouble.
